A refugee from the Philippines runs away to "New America" to play in the most competitive tournament for the virtual reality game: Summit.
This film is a promo, not a short film. The story revolves around a girl who finds refuge in playing a virtual reality game called Summit; this is essentially a combination of Hunger Games and Ready Player One where the player is transported into a map. There they have to fight to be the last one standing, hence the name "Summit".
I took a lot of consideration when color grading. I didn't want to use a red tone for the fight scene because the game is supposed to be a place of solace for the girl. The color in the beginning of the film was very muted because the normal world is supposed to be bland and unwelcoming. The orange and blue tint in the game represents the comfort that she feels playing the game.
