You're okay at asuna, penetrator timing seems to be a struggle though, and also switch. Also when you're trying to squeeze in a bit more damage use half of the barrage and attempt to hit the uptilt tech. If it lands you can downslam into the rest of barrage and attempt it again, and if it doesn't land the second time you go into penetrator, otherwise you can just go for penetrator like normal.

Mode only has 2 attacks if they can block mothers rosario, and asuna has 0 extenders. Switch having armor as a combo starter is nice and linear strike is solid but thats all.
That would make her a little too good imo, how she is right now is fine. Also linear has a tech that allows it to combo extend, albeit very luck based. There's also no extra risk in going for it.
Is the character actually good though? I played her when I first started and she feels like she just doesn’t have anywhere near the same amount of dmg or combos as others
in my opinion asuna is only viable because of her switch that can be used during someone else's move and her insane awakening, other than that shes pretty mid

Tbf with the amount of characters in the game that can just take stocks off one interaction Asuna just doesn’t hold up. Especially since basically all of her moves are easily punishable except her 1, not only does she not get much off of M1s but she can’t move spam either. Those make her a bad character (in 1v1s, in 2s she is pretty good)

Being able to heal in base is always appreciated, and u can use it to bait people's moves out and punish them or simply waste their cool downs. Her barrage is free damage and an extremely solid neutral tool as it's instacast and can be canceled part way if you miss. Penetrator is also just kind of free damage if used properly. Switch is definitely the weakest link in her kit, but u can still use it in certain situations since it does have hyperarmor; u might not get a combo off of it, but u can stop ur opponent from hitting u and set both of you in a neutral position. She might not have combos, but she can honestly win most neutral interactions if you play right (and effectively have 1-2 extra lives via healing). I shouldn't have to explain her mode being good in 1s. Like I said, she's below average, but she's still usable and slightly overhated. If u can get her mode at any point in the match, u have a good chance of winning (her mode gain ain't bad, so it's guaranteed with enough skill)
