I purchased pre-paid electricity on Saturday for R800, and got 251.7 kWh. Yet the month before paid R700 for 260 kWh! 😡 It makes me so angry. Paying more, and getting less. I detest the ANC, but hate ANC voters more. Wish there was a stronger word than hate to describe my utter resentment towards every single person who votes ANC. There is no excuse.

It would take me too long to explain how any other party (except EFF and MK) would fix Eskom, but more importantly they will fix it simply because THEY WANT TO. ANC does not care about fixing Eskom as they do not care about South Africans. They only care about stealing and lining their pockets before the country collapses.

And if the SA population are to find a way to succeed and overcome these problems, we actually have to stand together, as these problems affect us ALL. They increased the prices yesterday not today, I bought electricity of R1000 as usual and it was 316.4kWh which was the 31st of March and on the 12th March I had bought R1000 and I got 422kWh. I thought I was taking advantage of the last day of March but they hiked them the day before. I swear I am working to install solar and go off-grid plus my neighbour is off-grid. And what’s worse is that there will be more price hikes and more illegal connections from this horrible mess. I’m so bloody angry 😡. Privatisation is not the way to go. Please check the facts.
France's nuclear power plants were installed as a response to the 1973 oil crisis, and are almost entirely owned by the French government and its electricity is sold to the government.
Meanwhile in the US its Private‐sector utilities provide the bulk of electricity generation, transmission, and distribution in the United States. However, the federal government also owns a share of the nation's electricity infrastructure.
In 1986, the gas sector was privatised, and the electricity sector followed in 1990 when twelve regional electricity companies in England and Wales were sold off to private firms. In the end, virtually all components of the British energy system had been placed under private ownership
As everyone knows the stellenbosch consortium is interested in controlling the electricity generation sector because its a cash cow they want to control. It's not privatisation it's the stellenbosch monopolising the South African economy.
