It seemed each episode of Battlestar Galactica had a lesson to be learned from it. As in "The Lost Warrior", Apollo tells Puppis that no matter how scared you are, you always have to do what's right. And in the episode "War of the Gods", Count Iblis was charming, good-looking, and able to grant any wish you had. But he was really the Devil. Each time Count Iblis was hit with a laser beam, he briefly turned into his real persona, the Devil, before he returned to his usual appearance. That scene still gives me the chills, even today.

Here in 2020. I have always loved this theme. It is epic & grandiose. It is equal to the main theme of Star Wars. I miss the younger days of watching this series. I remember it well, we watched it mainly on TV in our basement in the house we used to live in in the late 1970's. Time flies. I also liked the 2000's reimagined BSG.
When Dirk Benedict joined the A-Team as Face, there was a reference to Battlestar Galactica in the intro when he passes a Cylon in an amusement park. That allways made me laugh.
I liked how the battlestars in the original series were hundreds of years (yahrens) old and that the war with the Cylons had been waging for years. You could see how a war weary people would grasp at the peace offered by the Cylons only to be fooled by them and Baltar who turned out to be fooled by the Cylons too. .
I agree completely and find the original BSG theme so inspirational and full of hope. We're all in this together, especially with the coronavirus pandemic going on.

Bro what are you doing . But in all seriousness I understand why you might not want to watch it but the 2000 bsg series is by far one of the best sci-fi shows EVER MADE . I know the comment is like 3 years old but if you have not watched it I’ll recommend you to give it a try
I never considered it a reboot. Just some other timeline sci-fi show. It was enjoyable at the time, but it wasn’t BSG. I have never rewatched it. The original? Many times. ❤❤❤
There is one thing the reboot got right: it's dark. The story has to be dark. We're talking about the annihilation of human civilization down to just 50,000 people left running for their lives. The original show has a hard time gaining new fans because it's too upbeat for the setting and stretches believability past the breaking point. The reboot is still massively acclaimed across the board, even if the ending (which I hated) was controversial.
Loved the series back in the 70’s and loved visiting Universal Studios Hollywood & riding the Tram as it went into a LAZER shoot out scene straight out of the show!!!!
They gotta bring back the Original Battlestar Galactica. Bringing that back is bringing back a Classic Legend that only graced our TV Screens and lives for a short time. the Special effcts should be a combination of the original technique of creating Special Effects combined with today's CGI. The Original Special effects of the Original Series still fo the most part hold up to today's Visual Standards. Watching the original SPX was like watching Star Wars on TV. A Total Classic. .
Supposedly a new show is proposed for the 2021 season. Maybe an alternate dimension crossover the the original show would be nice. Like what star trek does
I hope they never bring back Battlestar Galactica. I'd hate to see what a Woke, Politically Correct Version of Battlestar Galactica would look like today.

When Dirk Benedict joined the A-Team as Face, there was a reference to Battlestar Galactica in the intro when he passes a Cylon in an amusement park. That allways made me laugh.
Great series and music !
Wow, I remember this and loved it as a kid
👍👍😊😊💖💖
Me too.
Same here. Gen X rules.
The underlying premise for the show was fantastic. I was so glad when they brought it back and really worked with that.
I liked how the battlestars in the original series were hundreds of years (yahrens) old and that the war with the Cylons had been waging for years. You could see how a war weary people would grasp at the peace offered by the Cylons only to be fooled by them and Baltar who turned out to be fooled by the Cylons too.
.
possibly the best theme music ever!
I agree completely and find the original BSG theme so inspirational and full of hope. We're all in this together, especially with the coronavirus pandemic going on.
Could even be a wedding march.
Didn't miss this show as a kid!! Loved it!!!!
God, how I loved that show. Good times.
Young lad when this arrived on our tv. never turned back always watched and to this day I still watch. loved my youth. Fantastic shows like this that will live forever. :)
BEST SCI-FI EVER WHEN I WAS A KID
I second that. I was a kid the same age as Noah Hathaway was at the time. He was Boxey.
i liked it a lot but sorry best sci fi on tv was animation Starblazers !
@@johntracy72 Damn, he is not a cute little kid anymore. I am 49 and slightly younger than him I checked his age on IMDB. How cool would THIS be: If ANOTHER remake is done maybe Noah could be ADAMA.
I agree I couldn't wait to come home from school and watch this in the 80s!!
@@ReedHarrison Maybe I am a little older than you? My mother took my brother and me to see the MOVIE in 1978. I was so young (5) that I don't even remember what theater it was.
Galactica was the first movie I watched with Dolby Surround Sound in a Berlin cinema. I will never forget this experience! Still love the movie.
i havent seen this show in ages and i refused to watch the reboot because they changed so much. but this theme song every time i hear it i instantly recognize it. It is one of my all time favorite science fiction theme songs ever.
I had this exact same feeling before watching the 2003 version. Give it a chance, and I say it as a huge BSG 78 fan.
Gives me goosebumbs every time
Reminds of a great childhood
These days are long gone
one of the best si-fis ever made
pffff, that show only lasted one season because it SUCKED. nobody watches it
@@mrbubetube it only lasted one season because it was too expensive
@@mrbubetube 14k people disagree
Loved the series back in the 70’s and loved visiting Universal Studios Hollywood & riding the Tram as it went into a LAZER shoot out scene straight out of the show!!!!
That music transports me back to 1978!
One of the Greatest TV Themes Ever Written !! 👽💚
I couldn't agree more.
Like what star trek does
That's exactly where it went wrong. The effects budget went so runaway funding the show was threatening to bankrupt the studio.
Bought the dvd collection
I hope they never bring back Battlestar Galactica. I'd hate to see what a Woke, Politically Correct Version of Battlestar Galactica would look like today.
@@darkwolf-22 Kind of already got it with the edgy reboot. Just imagine more of that but maxed out to the extreme.
One of my favorite shows when I was growing up. My elementary school art teacher made a cardboard model of the Galactica ship it was like 4 feet long and hung it from the ceiling, it was the coolest thing.
Teachers don't do that now a days
That is so awesome!
So much nostalgy this series. Its one of my first remember tv-series and i remember i love that series.
Loved this show when I was a kid. I remember being bored in school and would draw the ships and draw a battle scene.
i get quite emotional watching this an amazing achievement
Yeah. Leagues ahead of the crap the entertainment industry is shovelling out these days - although i will say that there are a very few exceptions which are actually decent (Expanse for example)
Fleeing from the Cylon tyranny, the last Battlestar GALACTICA leads a ragtag fugitive fleet on a lonely quest, A shining planet known as Earth, SO SAY WE ALL!!!
WITH !! THE !! CYLONS !! FOLLOWING !! BEHIND !!! BY !! YOUR !! COMMAND !!!
@@MysticCoder Are you O.K ! With Anything ! At !! All !??
I was in Dallas in a convention back in 1990 and they played this theme with fireworks all over the place in several screens and made it look spectacular, it was! Impressed us all and the inspiration was Great!
The very first TV show I remember watching as a kid 🥰🥰🥰
i remember watching every episode, one night we were at my aunt's and we had to leave early...
i threw a tantrum sooo bad that my parents decided to stay, and i could finish watching my episode..
not my best moment but hey, it was battlestar...
I would have done the same thing as an adult!!😅😅👍👍
One night someone turned up at our house and tv got turned off. Missed the episode. Saw it on video 20 years later!
Hahahaa.. you made my day! Me and my brother watched it as kids and I miss those times,tv shows like this sooo much. We are aged now....but our hearts are still there.....
My brother and I had to fight my mom for the TV on Fridays. Galactica vs Dallas.
@@musclesmouse Who won?
Without sappy dramas needed for a successful modern TV series, Battlestar Galactica would be worthy of an adventure.
And its classic aesthetics and its direct plot would be true fun for the whole family.
Anybody have any Cubits? I do.
Good ol days. Loved this show.
I had this as the ringtone on my phone last year. You'd be surprised how many people still recognize it.
I would certainly recognize it instantly. That's awesome.
How did you manage that? I'd love to have the "Battlestar Galactica" theme as a ringtone!
@@lindaoneil5085 you can find one at either Red Ringtones or Zedge. Probably other sites as well. I for one prefer the Red Ringtones version.
Theme music in the 70-80's had real talent.
Babalon 5 had the best score and it changed for every episode.
Shows, that have been created with heart and had soul. Today just a few shows give you comparable vibes!
best series of all time
I second that. Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979) is a close second. Same team as BSG.
the show sucked so bad, it only lasted one season because nobody watched it. most people said it was a bad ripoff copy of Star Wars
I was 10yrs old when this came out. It was must see TV. I still enjoy watching it today. 😊
I grew up watching this show. Loved it. Additionally, I got the opportunity to play this piece in concert band which was a blast too.
Don't make em like this anymore ☹️ but I was around when they did 🤗
Same here. I loved those old sci fi's. Yeah they might seem cheap and cheesy now, but then, they were state of the art.
Me too.
Richard Hatch and Dirk Benedict 😍
Oh the memories. I used to watch the series as a kid. Didn't knew about star wars or even star trek. Galactica was my first real experience with the scifi genre and I loved it. 🤗
These theme song called me from all over the house, I was eight. ❤ I loved Apollo and Starbuck.
one of the best series of the 1970, thanks
I remember watching this, Sunday evenings after dinner.
Same here.
@@johntracy72 Me, too! Each Sunday evening, 7 pm, Eastern Standard Time, all ABC stations.
The most beautiful Battlestar
I love listening to this full version and then STTNG original theme
HA! I was just saying that my favourite American shows from back then was Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew, Battlestar Galactica, and Buck Rodgers in the 25th century!
We watched this show every Sunday night when It was a new show , 1978.
@@johnbockelie3899 yup I remember that to. Sunday nights on WLS T.V. Chicagos own Channel 7.
only the 1st season of Buck Rogers. I did not care for the second season with the searcher. I also liked the replacement Nancy Drew after Pam Martin left. The actress also played Lieutenant Brie on Battelstar.
This was my favorite show when I was a kid...I remember this used to come on after the hardy boys mysteries I was a die hard BSG fan...and when they didn't renew them I was depressed for months.
And now we are a further 7 years on :-(
the golden age i wish i can go back to those days
Thank you everyone who brought this to us.
Loved those boosters firing out the rear. 👍🏻👍🏻
OMG! Look at all those Battlestars in formation! 😊💕
Those were the top days of music themes compositions 👍👍
The ost of so many wonderfull summers evenings of my childhood, watching the show in a bar at the beach, here in spain
