Not a fan of the composites. The photo overlays are a bit better but side by side is really the best. Too much repetition of Anzac Cove only because the composites obscured all of the present day so the purpose of the duality was lost
I agree with you 100%
…I like the side by side pictures better than the combined ones ..love this channel.
Dubai seemingly emerged from the sand in only 31 years...
Blows my mind.
I absolutely *love* this channel not only for the amazing historical photographs but for the accompanying music too.
🎧🎶
I really enjoyed the side by side pics.
The photo at 16:25 does not look like Hitler but rather DeGaulle which makes more sense because of all the civilian dignitaries and not a German soldier in sight.
That's was what I was thinking, too. The man was waaay to tall to be Hitler. 🤨
What a huge mistake! Of course the tall guy there in French uniform is De Gaule and not Hitler
I love these comparison photos. Great content and background music!
I don't have a preference.. they're all interesting. It is moving to think about the generations that have come and gone. The music does fit well.. very nostalgic. Thank you to our host or hostess!
I love these "then and now photos".
Thanks 40 Historical Files! 👍👍
Thank you, John!!!
Great, thank you. 👍
Best regards from germany.
Oxford, thankfully, remains intact and beautiful!
I can watch these now & then picture videos for hours! They evoke emotions difficult to articulate.
Thanks for showing the Cincinnati picture! Can you do a video on Cincinnati then & now?
Nicely done!
24:05 I really like the photo combo here, making it look like the two pairs of people on the left and center are looking at each other across time.
EXCELENTE RECOPILACION DE LUGARES Y SUS CAMBIOS DRASTICOS.....
cool
Looks like De Gaulle at liberation of Paris, not Hitler at Arc de Triomphe.
Rectification: à 16.11 ce n'est pas Hitler à l'arc de triomphe mais le général De Gaulle.
This sort of thing is always interesting, but the photos of the Acropolis are taken from much different viewpoints. The 1954 image is from the northwest, and one from "today" is from almost due north. You can see for yourselves with Google Earth in 3D mode. The dome just visible at the bottom of the modern photo is on the north corner of Hadrian's Library. The open space in the foreground of the 1954 photo is the Eleusinion Sanctury, with Areopagus Hill rising on the right.
How can Oxford photo say 1810 when first ever photo happened in 1826 ?
16:23 That's D'Gaulle liberating Paris 1944
Exactly. Unless of course Hitler was a foot taller that day and chose to wear a French General's uniform.
Gotta say I do not like the composite photos. I wish you would just put side by side comparisons. Other than that, love looking at pics.
The side by side are what I wanted to see. The composite pictures should be presented in a separate video. I shut this off halfway thru, sorry
Ditto
Conclusion...
This world will never be as great again.
Great images but too tricksy, please keep to the side by side to show all the details in each
Oups big mistake @16:15...not Hitler but Général de Gaulle after WWII in 1944
In reference to the Rue de Rivoli photo, the arms of the Nazi swastika turn right (clockwise) rather than left. I'm just sayin".
Don't care for the digital composites. Side by side would be better.
Why overlay photos? can not understand anything.
Kaliningrad in 45 ? Königsberg!!!!
Do some great american cities like San Francisco or Chicago or Boston. You photo guys are always doing NYC or London, enough already.
Stopped watching after too many composite sketches
Not a fan of the composites.
The composite pics really fall flat, sorry.
