The largest collection of sneakers / trainers consists of 2,388 pairs and is owned by Jordy Geller (USA) based in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, as of 17 May 2012.
Jordy has termed the warehouse where the sneakers are based the 'Shoe-Zeum' and he owns the largest and most comprehensive collection of Nikes in the world. All of the shoes are brand new and in their original boxes and estimated to be worth over a million dollars.

I have bought and sold many pairs of shoes with Jordy years ago. We like many of the same styles and we wear the same size. I miss the good old days of ebay when you could see who you were bidding against.

I started with 1046 pair. I eventually started selling off my collection. Im down to 60 pair of the most popular and best of the 23 legacy collection. 1 through 23.... My passion for air jordans came later in life. I was 32 when I started my collection. Im 47 now and not as interested as before. You can call it a mid -life crisis I guess.

I should not have any right to question his motive. I was just ventilating, because it really is unfair. He did indeed work hard to buy these shoes, but people in whether it be Africa, or other impoverished parts of the world aren't even given enough opportunities and settings to even have such dreams. Kids in Africa wish, WISH to learn in schools and make something of themselves. All I was saying was that with all the money he spent on these shoes, he could have made greater amount of people happier.

That's perfectly fine, but I'm simply stating that I would have rather done something that benefited other people as well, than just spending thousands of dollars to own shoes that actually very slightly contributes to the harsh working conditions in the oversea warehouses that produces these shoes. There is a guy in Japan that does a showcase in a store of his sneaker collection, the store is 3 floors of Jordans, Nikes and other rare basketball sneakers. I don't know if he has more then this guy but his shit is rare you don't see retros and shit from the other guy.
