Her left pinky is just stronger than my will to live
That's so dark and funny....
Her tone is so pure and her vibrato is perfect, not overstated.
I love having the music to read along with.
Glad you like it!

Well, if you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly

My favourite part 😍

It sure is impressive aurally, but it’s not as hard to play as one might think. Each measure of arpeggios has the same LH position, she “just” needs to skip up and down the strings to hit all the notes.
@@joshuamiller5599 Yeah, but you still have to change the LH position rapidly. Not to mention the INSANE difficulty of the "skipping"
@@tomasjosefpiano8902 Indeed, which is why I put “just” in quotes. Not the hardest part of the piece but not easy by any means.
She's inspired so many young musicians to play the violin.

I'm here for Hilary because of TwoSet Violin.
Your profile photo reminds me of an old MCR logo.
I'm pretty sure that one of them has a crush on her, maybe eddy
Curious to know what TwoSet violin did to bring you here?
Virtual Sheet Music Hillary Hahn is on the show somewhat frequently and even though they are always expertise with violin music and seem very good, she always stands out when she plays against them.
@@virtualsheetmusic Hillary Hahn is their idol
When you see the music written out like that, it reminds you how amazing it is that a musician basically has the entire piece memorized, note-for-note.
In fact, it isn't "too hard".. You have to pratice it so many times that you just memorized it without any effort...
Think of thoses shity pop song you keep in mind xD
(Curiosity, how many mistakes are in this sentence ? xD)
Ohémjé Pieces like these are much longer and more complicated than nearly all pop music
Topgamer357 i didn’t wanna make a link between thoses ofc...
Just to take an example of how the brain can learn
Especially when you consider All of the accidentals, dynamics and Slurs this piece has, practicing is basically hilary's day job though
It honestly is not that hard, or one can say that's a prequisite to be decent violinist? Probably not perfect and might blank out on some of the less interesting portion, but you practice so much (39 hours a day), it just became muscle memory.
Hell, I still remember fingering of some of the violin pieces, and I haven't touch an instrument 3-4 years.
Her tone and clarity is just unmatched. I've gone through multiple soloists playing this piece and Hilary's interpretation is just in a leauge of its own.
Sophie Mutter conducted by Herbert von Karajan was pretty good as well.
I prefer Ray Chen tbh, but this is great
@@ensaladadepapaya8511 she is way better
@@alexandrospetkos6093 her performance is more clean, but I prefer Ray chen's more passionate, and chaotic interpretation

I remember when my violin teacher told me I look like her (physically), and he tried to encourage me to dedicate professionally to play the violin. But I always knew violin wasn’t my instrument. Tomorrow I’m singing ‘Una voce poco fa’ with a symphonic orchestra ❤️
In the same concert a violinist will be playing this solo too. I hope everything goes on well 🤩
Wow, I just watched Melody Louledjian sing it, it must be difficult to sing. I'm sure everything went well
How did the concert go?
play along makes it sound like we are suppose to play along with it

I remember us playing this freshman year high school in the chamber orchestra. I came in as a pretty good viola player, maybe 3rd or 4th chair. The senior 1st chair violinist played this as her senior recital. I was floored, literally had no clue a high school student could be so talented. That was my first wake up call that there are levels to music talent
Hilary Hahn is a fantastic violinist.
Agreed!

Hilary Hahn: Messing up only at bar 381
Me: Playing in the orchestra faking most of the notes
and tbh in 381 that only added to the energy of the moment anyway lol
She messed up on the easiest bar to. Sounded like she just added too much pressure to the strings there.

When the rhythmic theme the orchestra introduced just as the cadenza began, turns into this beautiful ostinato with really fast portato sixteenths at 9:10, and the orchestra returns is my favorite part. This is a beautiful concerto played perfectly by Ms. Hahn. 😍
I was a violinist w/ the Chicago Civic Orchestra decades ago. As I look at the score along w/ her playing I was amazed. She phrased melodic lines so beautifully that weren't evident on paper. This is a truly musically gifted violinist. I also admire her expressionless stately composure on stage. She's a Michelin 2 rating violinist. I concur w/ a comment that adding a score to the video adds a new dimension of experience.
So which violinist is Michelin 3? Heifetz, Grumiaux, Oistrakh? Please don't tell me it's Joshua Bell...
1:08 it's too clean... Howww😦
It is called practising. And probably some level of talent as well.

I know how talented and gifted these people are. But it really does blow my mind when I watch the notes as she plays. Friggin brilliant
The cadenza (7:33) is absolutely incredible on Hillary's violin. Besides following the score and watching her, her Divine diva figure one is pushed to the highest.

Miss Hahn has such amazing feeling in her music it's almost incomprehensible for a mere mortal like me. But it brings me joy. She is a true gift to human kind.
One of my favourite concertos so well played by this lovely young artist 🙂🕊
She’s in her early forties late thirties here she looks quite young tho!
how can she be so precise on each and every note? amazing............
I read a great article on her early violin education, and the writer mentioned her habit of carefully polishing each section before moving onto the next. That may be part of the explanation.
I know, thanks to the score I can see she is very precise and true to the articulations. Her bowings are just beautiful.
No matter how long I live, never will understand the ability of these soloists to remember all the notes and stuff.
Musicians: memorizes numerous notes
Me: forgets how old I am
I bawl like a baby every time I hear this recording, and it’s also a great composition! Her transitions are sublime ☺️
It gives me a new level of appreciation to Hilary Hahn's talent listening with sheet music.

Just amazing what 40 hours of practice can get you. Our very own ling ling
The end of the cadenza where the orchestra joins in is possibly my favourite part in the movement.
When one can simultaneously listen the music and watching the score one admires much much more the artist and realize how much it's necessary to study and to practice to reach this level of excellency. Great super Hillary, magnificent orchestra and superb conduction by Maestro Jarvi.
That vibrato has so much personality 😩😩😩 can’t wait to hear her play this piece live in STL 😭♥️
I really like being able to see her playing and see the music all on the same screen. Performance is great as well.
Those fricking string crossings took my heart away in heaven ❤
Hilary Hahn achieved a unique level of virtuosity. Imho she is truly the best violinist of the century- maybe of all times.
I never knew who hillary was then until i started watching twoset. All the love, hillary ❤️❤️
Never played a instrument in my life but just understanding how hard and how much work goes into being able to play the violin at this level leaves me in amazement. I might be wrong but I believe you have to be born to play the violin to be able to play at this level and that’s only half the battle, you have to put in years and years of work and practice.
Genes play a role. But I think an even bigger role is early exposure to music. After reading the biographies of many composers and violinists, I have noticed that so many of them had at least one musical parent. Given that neo-natology has shown that unborn babies can hear sounds, I am wondering whether this can translate into some neurological advantages for a pre-born child exposed to musical sounds, which become apparent post-birth.
@@Musicienne-DAB1995 you’re 100% right. Most great musicians I met had parents that were musicians. They were into music and bands out of their own generation. It usually is hard for a person with no history of interest in music in their older generations to get into, and stay, in music.
You are correct on both counts.
