Kids a hooper. He had like 6 35+ point games in college and most of these prospects that got taken before him arent bucket getters like this guy. Lot of guys r drafted for situational needs or with the idea to develop them based on certain skill sets. Dalton is ready now to go out and play. Midrange game. Can shoot 3s and defend. He doesnt need much development. He will just continue to get better learning from nba players and coaching like everyone generally does. Helps having lebron and AD too

I wanted the Lakers to draft a center like Ware or Holmes too. But Dalton is a very good pick who is an elite 3 level scorer. He does need to vastly improve his defense though.
He was 8-18 on virtually every board and they drafted him at 17. Sean had JHS 15 on his big board and they drafted him 17. Everyone had Cam Whitmore higher for most part as he was top4-8 on most big boards, but he fell bc of injury concerns and apparently had interviews.

Plus, it's not the pick n roll that slower bigs are worried about, it's simply the switch into an ISO far out on the perimeter. Like I said though, there are schemes for everything you can think of.

There is not excuse for the front office not being able to get a center before regular season starts. There are many bigs in free agency and via trade that lakers could go get at least 1 or 2. With the Knecht addition now you can use some of the free agency money to sign someone at least via Tax payer mid level. We have picks, contracts to go get a decent backup center.

We should've kept Wenyen Gabriel. He was the perfect role player for this team. He played hard no matter how many minutes he got, and he's a great rebounder with a decent offensive and defensive game.

The league is taking a shift in attitude with an evolving reason. The players are getting more athletic and the size is more in tune with Lebron's stature. What this means for the league is owners are more likely to replace their roster with fresh players with fresh attitudes and it won't affect productivity. A lot more players are starter ready though not all but more than before. The old days, the coaches would never start a rookie. Those days are gone and for good reason. The need is making sure sophomore contracts get poked in the side to continue working hard or be replaced by younger and just as qualified players from the draft. Competition from Europe also helps this aspect of the lazy vet. Recycle of necessary. Fans like fresh faces on their teams and look forward to greater productivity because of it.

There is not excuse for the front office not being able to get a center before regular season starts. There are many bigs in free agency and via trade that lakers could go get at least 1 or 2. With the Knecht addition now you can use some of the free agency money to sign someone at least via Tax payer mid level. We have picks, contracts to go get a decent backup center.

The league is taking a shift in attitude with an evolving reason. The players are getting more athletic and the size is more in tune with Lebron's stature. What this means for the league is owners are more likely to replace their roster with fresh players with fresh attitudes and it won't affect productivity. A lot more players are starter ready though not all but more than before. The old days, the coaches would never start a rookie. Those days are gone and for good reason. The need is making sure sophomore contracts get poked in the side to continue working hard or be replaced by younger and just as qualified players from the draft. Competition from Europe also helps this aspect of the lazy vet. Recycle of necessary. Fans like fresh faces on their teams and look forward to greater productivity because of it.
