- Welcome back to my channel! I had a lot of time on my hands to record last weekend because of the bad weather in my area (Winter Storm Jonas). This led to a second tutorial in less than a week! I wear my hair in a high puff regularly and always get tons of questions about it so I hope this helps to answer them. This style is super simple to create and cute. Thank you so much for watching!!!

I love this! I struggle with shrinkage after I wash my hair and when wearing it wet.. what do you do to your hair when it’s dry to make your puff fuller?

My hair is the same texture as yours but I'm not sure if it's a 3C or a 4A? What do you identify your hairtype as? Thanksx
+HarajukuBarbieUK I googled "natural hair type charts" to figure it out but only use that as a loose guide because those charts aren't accurate. Learning your density and porosity will help you more when deciding which products to use and which styling techniques work best for your hair.

I absolutely love the puff! This is the cutest style. However, my hair seems to be shorter in the back of my hair. Therefore, it is so hard for me to do high puffs. Do you have any suggestions? :-)
+Dominique Vaughn Hmmm it's hard to say without seeing your hair but I would suggest 'faking' a puff by using a headwrap/scarf or thick headband to cover the back of your hair. You could tie a scarf so that the front/top of your hair is exposed and looks like a puff but the shorter section in the back is hidden. Have you ever tried this?
Candice Arielle Thank you so much for taking the time out to respond to my comment! Yes, that is the style I usually do with my curls and it works just fine and it is just as full and curly! I just loved the way yours looked and I was wondering if I was doing something wrong, that's all!!!!
Dominique Vaughn You're welcome! Okay, that's good to know. Are you using ecostyler gel or a gel with a strong hold to smooth the back of your hair? I would try using a gel with a very strong hold and tying a scarf around it to keep it flat for an extended period of time, like overnight. I would probably do this the night before I planned to wear my puff just to make sure it lays flat. Have you tried that?

I love puffs!!! :) But....lol...so my sides are extra cottony and don't slick for anything, my top is super floppy so I won't stand up, and pushing any elastic back destroys my perimeter hairs :( I wanted puffs and frohawks so bad, but my hair is disrespectful.
+BklynBabe Don't worry about having super slick hair if your hair doesn't cooperate. Work with it. Maybe use a silk headwrap or headband to tie around your hair and help hold your puff up. Have you tried doing a braidout/twistout or using perm rods to create the texture you want and then put it in a puff? Don't give up; experiment and you'll eventually find a method that works.
