  • This cylinder engraving laser rotary roller attachment is highly adjustable system for laser engraving on cylindrical objects. Watch this video to see how it works and what you can make with it!
    It can be used with the popular laser engraver brands like Sculpfun, Ortur, Atomstack, Neje and many more! It plugs instead of the y-axis on your laser engraver. I tested it with the popular Sculpfun S9 laser engraver.

    @JT Makes it - could you please elaborate what you mean by Line by Line settings? Is there any other settings in Lightburn how to force/minimize item movement? I have the same problem you describe. More complex vector image and the glass moved completely from the laser position.
    I would like to use bidirectional engraving.

      @JTMakesIt  Před rokem +1

      With line by line I mean that I use a "Fill" with left to right motion to fill the whole shape like an inkjet printer would. I don't trace the shape outlines like you would normally do with engraving vector designs with "line" function.

    Can you engrave something longer that the width of the attachment? Actually thinking of a walking stick 45" long, or a martial arts staff if supported.

    • @JTMakesIt
      @JTMakesIt  Před 2 lety +4

      You can but you should rotate it only so much that the handle does not hit the rollers or the laser head. It would work for smaller engravings

      You can't use cups with handles with this one. But with some tinkering you can mount cups with handles on this rotary system: czcams.com/video/reY6ICDhF1s/video.html

    Please demonstrate steps for setting the rollers. The scale only goes to 60mm but I am measuring objects around 280mm and its clear from the video the engraved objects you are using and other videos are greater than 60. The device is surprising well made and just feels like good quality but the 6 step instructions that come wit the kit are garbage. Also please show steps in Lightburn to get proper settings. The instructions state there is no need to adjust software settings however you did decide to adjust the settings. Thanks.

    • @JTMakesIt
      @JTMakesIt  Před 2 lety

      You don't need to set the scale the same as diameter of the object. You ajdust it by eye just wide enough that the object sits nicely between the rollers. Precise adjustment is not necessary except that you use scale to make sure that rollers are parallel. If you use Sculpfun machine, you don't need any additional settings in Lightburn. Just use software normally. The Y axis transforms to the cylinder in 1:1 scale.

  • @Harb40
    @Harb40 Před 2 lety +1

    I wasted my money buying this rotary attachment.
    It can only do round objects that are the same size completely across. If there is more than a slight diameter decrease from one end to the other the product will rock and not get a clean engraving.
    Forget about doing anything with a handle.
    Unfortunately for the Sculpfun there is not another rotary attachment that will work with it. I should have spent my money on a different engraver that will work with the open middle (non full roller) rotary attachment.
