I have a masters degree in evolutionary biology. Parrots are extremely complex in their social needs, activity needs, etc. The kind of social relationships they build are so complex and important. Much of this is due to their incredible longevity in life spans and level of intelligence. I love seeing your work, you absolutely get it about their needs. They require much more care, time and interactions/activities than any other kind of pet.
I have a PhD in Parrot stuff and what you say is correct.
.
Hi, I am saying you are right, but you know it, very well stated👍👍
beautifully put
@@rajens1 I am not a parrot, but can repeat what other people say and what you say is correct.
He seems happy out there and happy to be eating out there..... one step closer to freedom
The positive communication is so beautiful. I can't help antropomorphisizing but the "love" and trust you're building are gorgeous.
You made so much progress with Bean. He looks so happy
Jaime, so good to see Bean doing so well with his training. Glad he is happy with being on stands and especially outside. Thank you Jaime for working with birds and showing us how we can help our birds.
Bean asking for head scritches is the cutest thing!!
We own bean now and he does this so much! We could try to pick him up but he just puts his head down for pets
Seeing Bean learn to trust you was amazing!
I agree. He seems excited looking at the outside. He looks so happy out there. You have fostered trust with him so smoothly.
Such a transformation and a total pleasure to watch. I've fallen for Bean. ❤️ He's a new bird. 😊 It's sad that he spent 8 years eating trash food, with a list of preservatives as long as your arm. But now, he's loving life and living large. 🤣 You go Bean😍
He ate good food, which previous owner brought along and she said he eats lots of vegetables. Who told u he was eating trash food for 8 years!??
I’m really happy to see Bean looking happier than the first time I saw him.
He’s making amazing progress. Such a smooth transition! I’m not even halfway through the video and I had to say something. That’s going to be one tough project bird to part from. Maybe Cressi can have a boyfriend. Can’t wait to see more progress!
Bean is a beautiful bird. It's so great to see how he's doing. I think you could give him head scratches for hours and he would just sit there lol.
It also looks like he needs a way to say "no." It looks like he uses head scratches to stop humans from making him do stuff. They're so smart they really need ways to 'say' what they want.
He does say no lol he shakes his head when he doesn’t want something
Our parrot says no and it sounds like “Fah. Fah” In a very firm way. Both sounds are clipped. Short. Not run together. We immediately respond. Withdraw or change what we were requesting.
African Greys are sooo smart and very individual like a human. Thanks for showing us that cutey and his progress. Being owned by a CAG, I can identify with much of what you said.
Bean seems like such a sweetie. It’s great to be able to watch these videos now, having wondered what went down with Bean. It’s lovely to see him come out of his shell and trust the people around him, and enjoy himself
I think a lot of people underestimate the feelings of animals and birds. animals and birds really develop love and deep trust with their owners and they are often devastated when they lose one. it takes them time to grieve that loss. it's good to see him coming around a little.
His personality is the sweetest 😍
Love how he holds his head down for scratches 🥰
Bean says, "New Mommy I love you and you are taking such good care of me. Look how good I ate!" He is doing really good with your daughter too! Great job! People may wonder why you leave the tags, but I know they love chewing those tags up! So fun!
Looks like a beautiful Robins nest under your patio!🐣. His previous owner did wonders with him, he is such a well behaved sweet boy!
Bean is very cool and laid back African grey!!❤❤❤
I never realised parrots were such messy eaters - they almost seem like their beaks get in the way of a full mouthful! He is super sweet.
True love you have for all the bird's
So easy for anyone who does care/love
Ur doing a awesome job. 😍 what a cool bird momma 👌🏻
Love the Bean journey - Yeah !!!
What a nice bird owner you are! This was a joy to watch.
Bean makes me so happy 💜
You’re so good with him, you really understand him so well
Just beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Incredible progress 👏 🦜❤
You're a PROFOUNDLY good communicator ... and Bean? Is truly adorable and SWEET. Thank you
I am so touched by your love for these beautiful companions! I want a parrot!!
Wow.... he's making such strides with you. Love to see it.
Thanks for sharing the stories of your amazing project birds. I think these tales are really useful for people training and/or retraining their birds.
You're doing a great job..
I'm so glad to see your videos again. Susan
Such a beautiful face! A really beautiful African Grey. Hope he's doing well.
Hello from England 🇬🇧
You're so wonderful to listen to Jamie Leigh! There are Life lessons in your wise words! Well being All.
Great video I love it cute
What an angel. I love Bean ❤
Fascinating insights
Gosh imaging going to the nicest resort spa and being catered to & taken care of in the best ways… This is how it all seems for Bean, he got the chance of a lifetime getting to come to your home!!
So very cool to see Bean's progress!!! And as someone who lives in southern Idaho, I can completely relate to your statement about "gotta love Idaho weather!"
Having never been to Idaho, what’s the deal? Does it change suddenly often?
@@peepsicle Yes, it does. There's an old saying that if you don't like the weather in Idaho, stick around five minutes and it will change, LOL.
What a beautiful transformation Bean has gone through, he actually looks more like a happy bird, kudos to you for your insight in how to improve his lot. I am sure he is going to make a lovely recovery from his up evil of having to change home and has found someone who will understand his needs. Please will he be able to learn to fly?
You have a great Aviary and good food; wish others would such a thing for their bigger parrots.
He's looking so much happier now
Adorable...
you won him over quite fast hope all is well for you and the flock
I love your work. You are spot on. We are all individuals, animals included and should be treated that way. We humans change from day to day so why wouldn’t a bird, cat, dog, etc. 🙂
Birdie Bread how cute your the sweetest.
The progress you have made with Bean is incredible! Well done.,
What breakfast did you give him to eat?
Love u and ur parrot ❤️💙💚🧡
They love to be outside mine loves it
Bean is an amazing bird
U r a very special person. There are not very many in the world like u - and your family. It is a very intense life to be devoted like you are. Having sleepless nights, worrying about a helpless animal. Wishing to win the lottery so that we could change the world. But we do change the world, don't we?
Oh my goodness you’re so lucky. I’ve wanted an African Grey for 20 years or a Macaw and never been able to afford one and I’d love to take in a rescue or an unwanted pet. I love working with birds. I hope you know how lucky you really are. Here in the U.K. they are around £1,600 which is around $2000 so they are just too expensive for me. Way out of my price bracket. Saved up the money once and my car engine blew up so I had to spend it on a new engine. Took me about 2 years to scrimp and save only for my hopes to be dashed. I’ve still got the cage and equipment and stands for one because I live in hope my good fortunes will come one day.
He so cute
my lovebird does that thing Bean does on the perch too. I call it the "pancake dance" and he does it when he wants to be out of the cage or when he's about to jump/fly
I love your videos!!❤❤Susan
Wow that is so cool 😍😍😍 I have a African grey her name is Brittan and it took me 2 years to get her used to me 😂😂
They are definitely birds compared their family members.
He says you're like laughing with me so I will get it off! Lol
The advice about not treating every bird identically is also true for children. The things i found punishment/reinforcement were not the same for my brother. I didnt mind being sent to my room (bird cage) cause thats where all my stuff was. 😂
How old is Bean? He sure loves being pet! ♥️oh he's 8 years👍
OMG I TOTALLY KNOW LAURA!!!💜💜💜💜 I thought I recognized the name Bean & it being an African grey. Which I also know that Bean was a VERY loved bird of Laura's, so it breaks my heart to see what she must of been going through!💔 At least I know Bean was in good hands....
I actually bought my very tiny, baby timneh african grey from her back when she use to be in that sorta business.🦜 Also for years after too, she was a great woman/friend that was always there to help when I was having parrot worries & constant questions etc. as it was all new for me back then!💜Then I also found out that I too had Lyme's as well. Anyways, Praying for her and her lil family & I hope she's doing much better by now too!?(Guess I better check on her myself.) She's got some pretty amazing parents too I remember! 💜🙏🏼
BTW I just adopted a neglected 35 year old African grey from a woman I know up in Sandpoint. Sooo, it's been an interesting 24 hrs so far lol!🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🧏🏼♀️ Wish me luck... I'm also ordering food & some other stuff on your guys website right now tooo! Still searching for the perfect cage for her too...Oh and you'll be happy to know that I didn't get her wings clipped either..🥰
i’ve just taken on. 26 year old attitude. no idea on sex. i have one i rescued 20 years ago it’s interesting. but this bird is very defensive. the owner used to flick it from behind . unfortunately
@@ladylaois8184 how very sad.... The previous owner needs to be flicked from behind!!😒
@@ladylaois8184😢 i hate humans😢 poor baby
Gratulálok nagy szép papagáj. Köszönöm a magyar feliratot is 😉😃
Bird tricks family, you should adopt Mr Bean yourselves he seems so happy!
czcams.com/video/6wBpCHuSckk/video.html Bean has an amazing family and is thriving in his adoptive home 🥰
I agree , birds do let you know what’s what .
I want some ‘birdie bread’.
First thing you need to know about an African Grey (or any pet) you must let the bird choose YOU you'll know if they like you or dont like you when you first meet each other..they are drawn to you like they know you as other greys wont like when they want to bite when hold out your hand..so shop around til you find the bird that loves you..and make sure your kids understand it..unhappy parrots will start picking their feathers off..
I feel so sorry for this bird losing his family and home. Everything he knew and loved is lost. He will need time to grieve.😢
Imagine that a creature of nature that likes outside.
Would you mind sharing the recipe for the birdie bread? I you videos have helped me with my nanday conure. Thank you.
Do you have a video on how you make breakfast, lunch and dinner for birds?
I love that you make fresh food. I want to do it too
First video on this channel ; been contemplating getting a grey - but I really enjoy watching loving content like this amongst all that doomsday stuff on here.
Just make sure the right fit for one have patience and continue to learn
i love you guys so much,,,,i am a newbie and your vids really help me so much,,,thank you
*gasp* Idaho! I live there!
He is TELLING YOU he wants outside. I think he wants to go find his missing mama.
Thanks for all your wonderful videos!! I also have 2 African Greys and a parakeet. Would like to know what temperatures you require for your birds (both for indoors and outdoors)? Can they go from a warm indoor temperature to a brisk outdoor temperature (such as a 10 or 20 degree difference)? Also, what humidity do you recommend for indoor birds?
Its funny how more than half ur birds are older than me 😂😂😂😂😂
Edit: Can u pls try to teach blueberry to loop. (Indoors)
Súper schönes Video ♥️♥️
Can you go over the physical changes you've see with Bean from his diet change?
I was raised around large birds. Your work is so impressive and inspirational.
How do you take Bean outside without being afraid he will fly away?
How cute, what are you feeding him I'd love to try it for my Indian ringneck
He probably wants to escape
Love♥️🤗😍
"Oof" is not as cute as you seem to believe it is.
I’d like to know why his perch isn’t along side of his dish? Our AG sits beside his bowl
What is interesting bird bread muffins
Is there a recipe for the birdie bread muffin? and what is in the mix for the breakfast feed
You’re my bird lady, (the bird whisper).
Hi there, I’ve been on your website and looked at your downloadable books on feeding and was wondering if your bird bread recipe is in there? I am about to inherit a disabled African grey and he’s currently on the same diet that bean arrived on. Also does it offer advice on coaxing them to try new things?
Lol my we man is called bean because he's hello like butter bean
Not sure if you'll be able to answer or be able to help me or not and this is not related to this video, but I have a Budgie who appears to be having issues with his feet, as far as balancing goes. Have you ever seen this before? He can fly, but can only balance on perch for a short time, been hanging out on the bottom of the cage, and using his beak to move around and climb. Appreciate any advice you have.
How do you get him to allow you too pet him mine would just bite me and I’m new
What is the birdy bread made with!!! ❤
How do you make the birdie bread?
Isn’t this the second AG named Bean you’ve worked with? Or else I’m hallucinating!
This is the same Bean. ❤️ The majority of this series was released on Patreon exclusively last year and now I am sharing it with our CZcams followers 🥰
@@BirdTricks Thanks for the reply and clarification! Wish I was able to support you on Patreon.
Can you share recipe for birds bread please?🙏🏻
