  • The service rig came today to service the oil and gas well on the farm. We were originally concerned that would be a large job requiring pulling he rods, tubing and cleaning the paraffin from the well. Turns out we just need the pump replaced and we should be back in business.
    Thanks to the great guys from Hagan Well Service who performed the work and the company as well. Really recommend for all your oil and gas well service. hagenwellservi...

    I spent 15+ years working in the oil field in Australia. You have no idea how much this appeals to me that you’re able to own land and a well over your way! You’re truly living the dream!

      Everything in Australia is owned by the crown, that is, the government and they determine who can access it through titles. So a block of land can have a freehold title and a mining title that have different owners.

    Glad you took the comments in on the last video. Seeing all the stuff around the farm is just as cool as seeing the greenhouses themselves. Provides depth and perspective to your day to day operations. Personally I'd love to hear more about that well and how you capture the gasses/oil and actually use them. Or ship them off for refining first etc. I am damned curious now!

      @@HomegrownPassion if it ever does get to that there may be other options you could possibly do depending on the existing tubing string size you already have in your well such as running a smaller ID tubing inside it similar to a siphon string to still get some hydrocarbons to surface if there is sufficient pressure. But judging by the pump Jack and the fact your well has an “insert pump” on the bottom of the rod string my guess is your well either waters up a bit and kills itself as opposed to free flowing or the crude oil does the same thing. Did they give it a good flush while they were there or did they just replace the insert pump?

    Have you thought about a plunger lift system that would eliminate the rods and tubing pump plunger will keep fluid off top of gas

      No to be honest. I think if something happens to the jack or system in place, we will look at other options. Thank you for the comment! Now I know to look into a plunger lift system.

      So, the well was drilled in 1971 its 4400 feet deep produces more NG than we can use, and oil is around 2 barrels a day. Thats average depending on the amount of gas we can get off the well.

    Why is this company MEDINA charging me natural gas usage when it is on my land and it is my natural gas reserve? Yeah they are the ones who tapped it and it is their equipment up there but, they charge me $50 per month for gas usage and they only give me $10 royalty checks? But, it's my gas.

      @HomegrownPassion  Před 6 měsíci

      Depends what your lease says. Around here most leases say the land owner get a 1/8 royalty from all gas and oil sold and unlimited gas for the resident of the land. Some will say it can only be used to heat Main house others are unlimited for land owner.
