I notice with knock offs on eBay. If you look at the product information. When it’s a Knick off it usually says “unbranded.” But if it’s an actual Mezco etc. it has the company name...
This kind of material is truly valuable. I never get in different collections like mezco or kotubukiya (despite the money) because I didn´t know how to identify a bootleg. Thanks again brad.
Honestly, I agree on your points but I disagree on the part you said that it doesn't show we want a second production run. Because bootlegs like this pop up because of the limit availability of the actual figure. Which if the companies if they do a second run it stops the scalpers and the bootlegs from taking advantage of the customer and fan of the line.
Also second production runs also help the companies of high end collectibles to improve on issues they had with the original figure. Example is a lot of Mezco's first one 12 collective figures had bad ankle pivot or shagging at the crotch area with the sewing which can be fixed with a second run.
Regardless, if China had the same copyright laws we do with stealing IPs then bootlegs won't exist on the market. Which we really do need a way to combat bootlegs even prevent these from popping up on eBay
That may have come out wrong. I'm aware people want more than one production run. Heck, sometimes I want the second run. My point was more that it sends a clear communication to those producing the garbage knock off that they should make more. As somebody who collects all sorts of DC figures I can attest to the fact that they have been KOing since the days of early DC Direct when the figures were more plentiful. I can definitely agree that the rarity doesn't help though. It certainly created an opening that allows for opportunistic behaviour. I appreciate your point of view and thank you for sharing it with me.
@@BradTheDCUniverseGeek Yeah I got what you mean also true tbh though second runs aren't a bad thing. Mafex did 3 runs of their Dark Knight movie Batman and the 3.0 was the best one they did since it fixed all the QC issues and improved upon them. Aswell, I agree it's frustrating that a lot of those bootlegs use the rarity of those figures as a way to take advantage of them due to wanting them so badly

Thanks for the education I had brought one of the Green Arrow some stole it on delivery thankfully I was able to get my money back and I was doing what you said just save up money to buy the genuine article and stay away from Chinese shipments thanks again.
I would love to be a fly on the wall at one of these knock-off factories.

1:07 the problem I noticed is that some scumbag EBay sellers use the actual promo pics of the real item to sell their knockoffs. So you buy the knock off thinking it's genuine and end up getting screwed!
Please tell me you filed an incident report on eBay so this pirate doesn't continue to rip off unsuspecting victims. EBay is usually good about refunding if you file a complaint.

Chinese KOs are a lottery. I've bought the DCUC Sinestro and Eclipso, and the Marvel Legends Pizza Spider-Man from Chinese sellers and they've been great, almost indistinguishable from the real thing for less than half the price. But the Marvel Legends Epic Heroes Deadpool came with really badly moulded swords that I can't display him with and the DCUC Wonder Woman I ordered came with frozen joints and paint chipping off in chunks. I also ordered a DCUC Captain Cold that looked great when he came but was missing his shawl thing that goes round his shoulders; I gave up on that one and eventually just ordered a legit one. So I guess I'm 50/50 on them, but if you get a good one they are worth it. Though I'll stay well away from this one, obviously.

Knock-offs are a touchy subject. If you go in knowing it's a knock-off and expect sub-standard quality, then you're like me. But in your case, where they sold it at Authentic price, that's low down, scummy shish. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta wait for a Knock-off of Cara Dune to start floating around.
You can't compare a 20$ figure with a 150$+ one. The KO is for customizing and for those who can't afford to pay 150+shipping and perhaps taxes if you're from UE.
Usually sellers say it’s unbranded so I either you didn’t read correctly or your one seller is bad. But for £13 it’s way better than any marvel legends or mcfarlane dc

Commander Rogers and bvs superman are great knock offs. Supermans body has better articulation than the real thing plus you're going to want to buy the manipple headsculpt and hands set anyway. The armored batman is good too, it just needs the silver drybrushing over the chest piece. Flash and reverse flash are decent as well. Oh and the blue deadpool is well done also. Punisher is fine as a fill in because no version of the figure is worth what they're selling for second hand. All of that said, I'm a mezco collector, have gotten almost every release since the first releases. I've picked up the kos because I make custom figures and I used to be able to grab these all for 30 or less shipped to the u.s. And would get them within 10 days. Never bought this figure, this is for retards. There's too much intricate work on the original to think you're going to get something even remotely close to decent. Also, come on man, you can't buy anything like this from a Chinese seller and pretend you had no idea it's not genuine. If it's coming from a Chinese seller and not a 3p transformer then whatever you're buying is fake. It's that simple.
I'm suprised the bootleg has the dc logo.. on the marvel ones they are smart enough to leave that off... ive recently got into mezco and its all brads fault!!
Yikes, some of those arrows in particular look terrible, and yeah, not having the wire in the hood really makes the hood look awful.

The DC Spin Master figures have better paint applications than McFarlanes attempt at the DC line 😂
