It looks ultra cushioned but it’s actually not. The padding is so stiff even though it LOOKS soft

I find these very soft and cushioning, they made a variety of models with different levels of plushness though

Exactly. They probably feel cushioned for really heave people who stomp their heels on the ground but for normal weight people who walk normally these just feel stiff.
