    The reason the Bengals have had slow sluggish starts the last 2 years was because in 2022 Burrow had to have emergency surgery to remove a burst appendix which can kill you and the surgery to remove a burst appendix is far more invasive that a surgery to remove an intact appendix. They have to cut you wide open and clean all that burst material out of your body. So Burrow missed all of training camp and the previous year he was rehabbing his knee and did t have a normal offseason. So the appendix he missed training camp lost all kinds of weight. Last year it was the calf strain 1 day into training camp so he missed another camp almost completly and wasn’t himself for at least the first 2 games if not the first 4. In 2022 we had a lot of new offensive lineman who had never played with each other too and we had a rookie at LG. Compounding all this misfortune is Zach Taylor’s policy not to play any starters any in the pre season. That needs to change. There are 3 pre season games. I would play the starters for 1 quarter in game 2 and 1 quarter in game 3. I would play them all for a minimum of 1 entire quarter of football. Maybe a couple series in game 1 and 2 and 3. But it should all add up to at least 1 quarter of play. The rest of the time would be to evaluate rookies and UDFA’s. The o line playing in the pre season is not as pertinent as it was in years past because 4 of those guys have been playing with each other for a while now. The 3 interior guys have been playing for 2 years together. But I think ALL starters need to at least play a total of 15:00 of football.

    We brought back Von Bell for 1 reason. We got him for league minimum this year because Carolina still owes him another year of salary. And he is a good player who can improve communication on the field in the secondary. But Jordan Battle is the starting SS in 2025. Battle had a phenomenal year last year. He graded at 79.8 which was 4th best among safety’s last year and the best for a rookie safety since Derwin James in 2018. And Battle only started like 9 games and he made the All Rookie team. So we didn’t get Bell to bench him. We got Bell mainly because of price. League minimum this year.

    Yeah Burton is a stud. He is that dude. He is a 1st round talent all day every day. There were some personality concerns that I think were blown all out of proportion. TH Housmenzdaga, I killed the spelling sorry, has been training Burton for the last 12 months. So TJ has been training him for a year. When TJ was the one who called out the 3rd round pick he had absolutely no idea that he was about to pick Jermaine Burton. He talked to Burton on the phone 3 minutes before going out there to announce the Bengals 3rd round pick. That’s pretty cool. That shot was not planned. It just happened like that. Burton should have been a top 32 pick. And the QB play at Bama especially last year was not conducive to good WR play and not in 2022 either. Young was there but had a more down year.

    You said we ‘Lost’ Tyler Boyd and DJ Reader?? No sir I disagree. We LET Tyler Boyd go. He was getting older he will be 30 soon and isn’t as good as he used to be. And he was never explosive from day 1 he was never very fast at 4.58 so we CHOOSE to not have Tyler on the team anymore. It was time to move on. And DJ Reader I think the Bengals might have made him an offer but I can tell you right now they didn’t want him back that much because Reader in his 4 years only played like 2.5- 2.75 years of that contract. He just suffered the same exact injury he had in 2020 where he missed most of the season and DJ is 30 now too. Plus DJ usually only played on 1st and 2nd downs. I think the most he played in a season was like 500-550 snaps in a season. Sheldon Rankins isn’t a nose tackle but he is a 3 down DT who is dam good against the run and is a good pass rusher. We also chose to move on from Joe Mixon because he wasn’t explosive anymore. He lost a gear. Yea he is still a good running back but they wanted to get way cheaper and younger at that position. Mixon will be 28 next month. He has actually held up pretty dam well. 2020 was the only season where he missed significant time. But it was time for something new. We definitely 100% upgraded at TE. In fact I think Mike Gesicki is your Tyler Boyd replacement. Burton played 80% of his collegiate snaps on the outside. Let’s compare Boyd vs Gesicki. Boyd is 6’2’’ 203 pounds ran 4.58 has 32 inch arms and a 34 inch vertical leap. Not bad at all but let’s look at Gesicki he is 6’6’’ 247 lbs ran 4.54 has 34 inch arms and a 41.5 inch vertical. And he is one full year younger than Boyd is. Gesicki is 13 months younger than Tyler. And for the vast majority of Tyler career he has had the best hands in football. Deandre Hopkins and Tyler Boyd were the 2 WRs with the fewest dropped passes in the last 4 season. True story look it up. But last season Tyler dropped the game winning TD versus the Houston Texans. That hurts. Gotta catch those. That’s not why they let him walk. They let him walk because he will be 30 in November and they wanted to get younger and more explosive at WR. Gesicki is way bigger than Tyler has longer arms to catch passes with and is faster and better on literally all the tests that you perform at the combine. I’m amazed Gesicki wasn’t a 1st round draft pick. He was a 2nd like Tyler was.

  • @NathanDean79
    @NathanDean79 Před 4 dny

    Mike Hilton is our best CB right now. And 25th is ridiculous. Trey Hendrickson is a top 5 player at his position and Mike Hilton in the slot is a top 3 player at his position. Logan Wilson just came off a career year where he had 135 tackles and 4 interceptions. Now this year I think CTB takes a leap but right now at
    This moment Hilton is the best.

I like how Zach Moss can block better than Mixon and I like Gesicki over that garbage TE we had last year. I predicted the Super Bowl
    Appearance by the Bengals I. 2021. That year we won 10 games right. So the next season since we were in the Super Bowl we were going to get a very difficult schedule which we do we had the 2nd hardest schedule in football. And no the Chiefs did not have the hardest that year. The Patriots did believe it or not. So 2022 we had the second hardest schedule and we win 12 game. Should have won 13 but that Bills game was canceled. Oh and the last game of the 2021 season every single starter didn’t play. They did t even dress out so that could have potentially been an 11th win if we were trying. So 2022 we win 12 should have been 13 but 1 game was canceled. We get to the AFC championship and yall know what happened. The refs saved the Chiefs. In 2023 we had the most difficult schedule in football. It was a historically difficult schedule. In 2023 we played 11 playoff teams!!! Yes 11!! And 14 of our games were against teams that finished ABOVE .500. So 14 of our games were against teams with a 9-8 record or better. We played exactly 3 games against sub .500 teams last year. That’s fucking crazy. That’s the most difficult schedule that a team has had since the year 2000. So this year will Burrow fully healthy and having a semi normal off season and a full training camp I’m predicting either a 15-2 or a 14-3 record and the AFC number 1 seed. That’s how good I think this team is. That’s how much faith I have in them. Oh and I forgot to mention that THIS YEAR we have the 17th hardest schedule in football. But for some reason the Chiefs AGAIN do not have a top 3 difficult schedule. The Chiefs have the 16th hardest schedule in football. The AFC North is the best division in football and it isn’t even particularly close either. We have 3 of the top 5 edge rushers in football in the AFC North. 1. Garrett 2. Watt 3. Hendrickson. Hendrickson is 4th or 5th but Garrett is the best and Watt is second. I thinhk Trey is probably 4th after Micha Parsons. And this past year Garrett won Defensive Player of the Year Hendricksons numbers were comparable or better in some cases than Garrett’s. I’m not talking about the advanced metrics but based on those Trey is top 5 at his position too but last year Garrett had 42 tackles, 86 pressures, 14 sacks, 30 QB hits, and 4 forced fumbles. Hendrickson last year had 43 tackles, 80 pressures, 17.5 sacks, 25 QB hits, and 3 forced fumbles. So more sacks and tackles and just marginally less pressures and QB Hits and 1 fewer forced fumbles. But Trey didn’t even make 2nd team All Pro. He should have been at least 2nd team all pro if not 1st team All Pro. He was second in the league in sacks again like he was in 2020.
