The Life of the Bougainville Revolutionary Veteran, Late Thomas Tarii

This is a Short video documentary featuring the life of the Late Thomas Tari.
Late Thomas Tari was Bougainville's freedom fighter during the war on Bougainville. He was the leader of the Bougainville Revolutionary army Southern Command.
After Peace agreement was reached in 2001, Thomas Tari became a influential Peace advocate in Bougainville.
In 2015, he was firstly elected as the Member representing South Bougainville Veterans and later in 2020 he was re-elected and got appointed as Police and later Health Minister.
On 5th of May 2023 he passed away after a long illness he developed whilst serving the term as Minister for Health in the Bougainville House of Representative.

I met him personally in 2018 during my first visit to Buin in South Bougainville. From my 1 hour chat, I found him to be a very kind and humble person. From there onwards, wherever I meet him, he would always stop by and say hello. Rest easy champ. Till we meet someday...
