    upgrade to plus account? that feels like a scummy move for Shopify....

      The primary rationale for restricting access to the checkout route on Shopify is to safeguard against fraudulent activities. When a purchase is made, customers enter sensitive information, such as credit card details, which, if the checkout route were open to all, could potentially be intercepted by developers with malicious intent.
      This controlled access to checkout pages ensures a secure transaction environment. Furthermore, by standardizing the checkout process, Shopify maintains consistency in the user experience, preempting issues that could arise from an open checkout route. This approach also contributes to Shopify's ongoing efforts to enhance their platform's reliability and reputation.
      Additionally, accessing certain checkout functionalities like the checkout template or checkout scripts may require a Shopify Plus account

      Sure, these are just my ideas. I actually didn’t find any reasons mentioned by Shopify on why Shopify plus exists. But IT IS WHAT IT IS 👍

    Thank You, Shahzad.
    Please share, do GTM slow website speed?

    • @TrackingAcademy
      @TrackingAcademy  Před 2 lety +1

      Sure you're welcome.
      Yes, the impact on page speed depends on the tags used in GTM web container. If you move tags to the Google Tag Manager server container, it will speed up your site. The level of its impact will depend on the tags that you are using.
      For most common tags such as fb, ga, gads, TikTok, it does show some improvement. However the more custom HTML tags and JavaScript libraries you load from you GTM web container, it will slow down your site.
      Refer to the blog below to get a better understanding of the impact of page speed and GTM web Container.
