Hi Daniel, I have been editing on my ipad Pad pro 2022 M1 since the launch of DR for IPad and very few times I have had rendering problems. Your teachings led me to follow exactly the same steps that you explained in this video, without ever talking about this kind of problem. And that way I've always managed to render my videos. Exactly Daniel! You taught me to think about how you in terms of DR.
You gave us a very good problem solving method. It is a process of elimination and testing. Btw the M4 has been rock solid for me. It will handle the more complex tasks that the M1 couldn’t. In normal editing I don’t see any difference in speed.

I have an iPad Pro M4 and been using DaVinci Resolve but today, after working on a video project, it crashed. Now, every time i try to open the project it keeps crashing and don’t know what to do.
m4 11" ipad pro here. And since day 1 is SO unstable on Davinci Resolve. I have tried so many things, connect the SSD Via Hub, directly connect the SSD via USB-C, NO SSD and the files on the internal memory and IT CRASHES ALL THE TIME. but it's random, there is no one specific reason for it to crash, it could be after 10 seconds or after 30 minutes of working. it's so frustrating.
The footage I've been working on it's shot on a Fujifilm XH2s, it's ProRes 4:2:2 10 Bit 6.2k and 4k both crashes.
oh and it also crashes on Final Cut
Have you tried a different Format? Try upgrading the iPad OS. And also when exactly is it crashing?
It might seem random to you, but in my experience its never random.
Are you using Edit Page or Cut Page?
What kind of effects.
Also other M4 user report no issue. Maybe your iPad has a Problem? Especially after you wrote FCP is crashing too. My FCP has never crashed
I’m in the same boat… Panasonic V-Log 6K 29.97 fps footage from S5ii. On the latest iPadOS 17.5.1. It crashes all over the place; Sometimes from Cut page, sometimes from Color, and sometimes during export. I did managed to finish cutting/editing and exported it after multiple failure.
Now add a few basic transitions, random crashes all over places again. Now trying to export, but failing at random points 😂. It really is random crashes because it happens at different places/clips every single time 😢.
Same here. M4 13” with Panasonic V-Log from a S1, but timeline is 1080 with ProRes Proxies. Was expecting better performance to be honest… It’s not playbacking that smooth either with those settings…

Hi Daniel. Is there anyway I can drag my media to the inspector in the iPad ?, it’s very important thing for video editing and I need it for the plugins I bought too , i hope you have solution
Plugins don’t work on the iPad. And no you cant drag & drop files. But you can import a complete folder structure. This works very well and i did not have any issues

Any peeps get iPad 256g M4 getting "gpu memory full" messg using Davinci with only couple basic nodes? I’m coming from M1 1tb iPad and have used much more difficult film emulation power grades have never had a problem.
The 1TB Version even on the M1 had 16Ram VS. the 256GB only has 8GB Ram even on the new M4 Models. Could be that. I personally would have not upgraded from a M1 16GB Ram to a M4 with only 8GB Ram. If i would have upgraded the. Atleast to the 1TB (16GB Ram) Model
