  • We dug almost ever day last week. Starting with a nice wood lined privy and then we actually got some help with a backhoe out at DD ridge bottle dump. It was a fantastic week, great weather, outstanding auctions, and lots of saved History. Thanks to everyone of you for your continued support.

FW Fitch Boone, IA hair tonic bottle (1892-1917)
Frederick Walter Fitch founded the F.W. Fitch Company in Boone, Iowa in 1892, and also owned a barbershop. Fitch's first product was a hair tonic labeled "Ideal Hair Grower and Dandruff Cure." Later products included the "Fitch scientific scalp treatment."
Fitch moved his business to Des Moines at 15th and Walnut Streets in 1917. The company did well throughout the early 20th century and during World War II but saw a decline in hair product sales after the war due to the loss of military contracts.
In 1949, Fitch sold The F.W. Fitch Company to Grove Laboratories in St. Louis.

12 to 14 inches. It works really good for loosening hard soil and ash down in the hole. Do you ever sift any of your outhouses on the back fill. Have found a few coins, marbles and tokens that way. Great video, nice finds.

At a bottle meeting we saw a 1790's clear bottle from his display case (China cabinet), later, while during the meeting, we hear ting sound, it broke. i hope you cleaned that revolver. Evaporust is awesome. This is where people hate me, its cool that you get your kid involved, but please dont film them. Cute is cute but annoying is annoying.

You know brother man, it was those annoying kids that hand blew all the amazing bottles we have to dig and collect today. Have not cleaned the revolver yet, currently have my electrolysis tank taken down. Thanks for your continued support sir.
