- In this episode, I went on a reconnaissance mission to GangHwaDo Island. It was my first time visiting this island, and my goal was to find some good photo spots for future videos. To my surprise, the island was full of great abstract and fine art photography compositions. Knowing that there is such a place where I can make good images during the summer, the season when many photographers struggle, was a big relief. I know for sure I will revisit the island for more photos.

Great shots love long exposures.

Nice video. I even laughed a few times. And yes, seagulls can be annoying.
Glad you enjoyed! And yeah they were really annoying haha
Very much enjoyed your video, Arty. The last two photos were my favorite.

First time viewer. Subbed! Great videos, not overly complicated. Beautiful shots too.
@zeballos5757 thank you so much 😊
@@photoflooddays welcome. Thanks for the reply 🙂
I found your channel about a week ago and i must say, you’re doing an amazing job, your videos are not complicated and very calming. Keep it up like that :)
Thank you for your kind words! I'll do my best! :)
NiSi has an app for your smartphone to calculate shutter speeds for various levels of neutral density.
@TonyHogrefe Oh really? I have been using a literal sheet of paper; cheat sheet 🤣 I guess I'm too old-fashioned. thank you so much for the tip!
Enjoyed your video!
@@willardkennedy6021 Thank you very much for watching! 😊
Great video as always Arty, loved the shots at 11:13 and 14:04! Well done.. Nice!
@richardlynam2007 Thank you Richard! I really like those shots too :) I was lucky to shoot them!
@@photoflooddays Nothing to do with luck, Just good shooting & editing!
oww thanks :)
😂 no your not the only one who hates seagulls, it's like when you're doing a landscape shot everything is set then a man and his dog decides to walk into the scene and when there gone the lights changed and you've lost the shot. Ugghh 😂 good work though like your arty shots.
🤣🤣🤣 Aha! I knew I wasn't alone! Thank you hahaha
Love the image at 11:15 or so of the video. Want to get rid of seagulls in your shots? Bring something to feed them, they'll flock to the food and stay away from your shot (they love french fries!)
@j.p.lacasse3689 All these years of photoshopping them out! Why couldn't I think of that? That is brilliant! Thanks for the tip! And thank you for watching the video!
@photoflooddays but you do realize that if you bring some snacks, then it's attached more seagulls, and nobody know, where they will standing 😅😅😅
@@knitktv That is true🤔
damn seagulls, hahah, nice work bro
@mdutton87 Thank you! I knew I wasn't alone!
@photoflooddays we have huge ones here in the UK. They will gobble a whole jumbo sausage down in one go!
@@mdutton87 I think I actually have encountered those gigantic seagulls in Liverpool. They seemed to enjoy pooping on my head, those buggers.🤣🤣🤣
Maybe bring some pilchards or other small fish scraps to feed the seagulls behind the camera or out of shot while you make your image?
Yeah, I thought about that too, but then it might actually attract even more seagulls. They are vicious little buggers 😈
Nice video! 🙂
Thanks! 😊
Great video! Love how the background fades into nothingness in the first image 🚣
glad you liked it! 😊
Thanks for the good video! Just like to ask, what the name of your cable release for the camera?
@Allen-tm8gu Thanks for watching! It's actually a DIY release haha I made it!
You have mixed up some terminology - 'Minimalism' is a form of photography - usually containing one or two elements whereas 'Fine Art' is simply 'that which the artist visualises in their own style' - which clearly includes most if not all types and styles of photography
I am sorry but I am not sure where I mixed up. I know what they mean (but thanks for clearly explaining) and I am not sure where I mixed up?😅
@@photoflooddays I forgot to say your photographs are beautiful - it's a simple and easy mistake or mix up that many photographers make. Fine Art is the 'style' a photogpraher has - made real through your own individual 'photographs' - Minimalism is a 'form' of photography - so correctly put Fine Art is you - Minimalist is 'the picture''. Fine art can be accredited to any form of art, ceramics, drawing, painting, sculpture etc. Minimalist is often accredited to photography, mostly black and white, where one or two elements are present and the image is usually uncluttered. So you are a Fine Art photographer with the 'expression' of minimalism or a 'style' of being a minimalist - and you are good at it too - so carry on
Ah, well, thank you! And my English is short, so I actually knew what these words meant but not in depth (as you kindly and wonderfully explained), I guess. I learnt something, thanks! So I know that I can call my photos fine art photos as my personal style; minimalism and long exposure make them fine art images(am I correct?), but I was wondering if you have found a mistake where I confused the two words or somehow mistakenly used🤣
@@photoflooddays in short yes you can. The 'mistake' or area of confusion was in the fact that you have said in the description 'fine art BnW landscapes' technically this is still correct however I would suggest an expansion of the terms - Fine Art Minimalism - or Minimalist Fine Art - both are good as you hit two different very esoteric areas of your photography at the same time Either way you win
@nelsonclub7722 Ohhh I see...! Thank you so much again for kindly explaining! I actually learnt something! 😊 And thank you so much for watching my video!
Climb over the gate, I would
I thought about it but didn't want to encourage anyone to do the same
