PDP Maple Walnut 14x8 Snare Drum Demo (Limited Edition)

This 6.5”x 14” (PDSN6514MWNS) 20-ply hybrid shell snare drum is a welcome addition to the complete line of PDP offerings. The ultra-thick drum is made with 16 plies of European maple at its core and 4 plies of walnut both inside and outside. Outfitted with a MAG throw-off and distinct dual-turret lugs, it’s also available in 7x13” (PDSN0713MWNS), 8x14” (PDSN0814MWNS) and 5.5x14” (PDSN5514MWNS) dimensions. All of the sizes produce a fat, throaty sound with a pronounced attack.

Nice natural presentation of the drum. I think I've seen enough demos of drums w/ a close-placed SM57. This gives me a better idea of the drum's performance in a room. Thanks for the great production quality and playing!

I got that drum a week ago and did find a head change to something a bit more dry helped mine have a better sound range.
It’s a beast for sure and is very versatile. Kudos for PDP/DW for this gem. Now let’s hope they quickly move on from it so it’s indeed a “limited” production.😎

I put a reverse coated black dot head on it and replaced the snares with 42 strand ones. It is a great sounding smare drum.

Usa el mismo cuero que trae el snare, aunque personalmente me gusta el Evans hd dry para snares de 7, 8 o incluso 6,5 de alto pero para 5.5 por ejemplo pues te recomiendo el genea dry, es un poco menos seco, y tambien me gusta el powercenter.
