I think something that would be a cute (and delightfully weird) hair thing would be to get multiple (good quality) extensions in multiple colors, so you can incorporate them into your outfits!
Like, this outfit, I think, would look soooooo cute with some orange extensions from each pigtail.

The dress is 90s. It might be 70s inspired, but the pointy hem and the pattern is typical for 90s fashion. 🙂
