Nobodies have gotta be my favorite enemy type in the series. There's just something about their general vibes that I love.

agreed, i'm a huge fan of enemy groups that have a cohesive aesthetic and the nobodies are definitely at the top of the list for me

There's an interesting detail about the berserker that makes sense about the "cursed hammer being the one in control", when they drop their hammer sora can pick it up, and when he does an effect appears on his head like the hammer is trying to control him as the berserker body drags toward sora.

Gambler almost has an air of a magician, which seems weird until you really think about the fact that the house and a magician are the same thing, they are trying to misdirect the viewer. Its exagerrated movements ARE its bluff, a distraction from the game itself and their sleight of hand. And this is something Luxord does, he plays dirty sometimes, but unlike the gamblers he keeps to his words, ultimately his games are legitimate.

This is oddly soothing to watch. It’s almost like video game animation analysis ASMR.

I wonder if Dancer’s idle animation is a reference to pop-and-locking or a similar dance style. It has the same fluidity and jitter effect.
    Great video!

I actually had a line with that theory in the initial script for the Dancer video! But it got cut for time :(. I definitely think you're right- and other than Sniper, the Dancer is the only Nobody that really "glitches" like that so I'm inclined to think it's purposefully to mimic a dance! Also, thank you! :D

Loving these! I'll be honest though, I miss the longer more in-depth looks at every enemy 😂

Thanks! And yeah, that's completely fair! I've been so busy lately I really don't have the energy for long videos, but I hope to get back to doing those eventually. :D

Ouuughh i love the berserker for what it implies about Saïx (my favorite character) through the story in its animations.
In 358/2 Days Saïx is essentially the personal villain of the game, and a great deal of time is devoted to showing his belittling the character of Xion and dehumanizing her, referring to her as “it” and a puppet. We learn that Xion is a replica whose physical appearance is like a psychological mirror-the way that other people see her is determined by their own psyche. Saïx sees Xion as a literal puppet, a genderless mannequin in a coat, and accordingly treats her with scorn.
But what does this say about Saïx beyond him just being an ass? The characters who are closest to human see Xion as a real person, but Saïx is simply unable to. We also learn over time that he is a person who has become chained to his role in the Organization-once with the intent of overcoming and destroying it for sympathetic reasons, he infiltrated it, but as he gained rank and prestige he slowly became less able to act in any capacity outside of that mask. By the time 358/2 Days rolls around, Saïx has become a puppet for Xemnas, and he is consumed by emptiness, jealousy and hatred. When he is finally afforded the chance to cut loose and act, rage overtakes him: he takes his claymore in hand, goes berserk and loses himself.
So the Berserkers mirror his character quite well! Saïx’s soldiers reflect who he is: a person who seems like an intimidating brute at first pass, but who is dragged around by a terrible curse he bears and is actually quite small inside.
