Man I miss these Toonami days a lot back in the day. This is was Toonami was the very best between the 1999-2001 era. It was the best thing I looked forward to after school everyday 5 days a week for a few hours each day. Plus the Rising Sun and Midnight Run. Now in 2015 it's only on 1 night a week on Saturday nights. Bring back the old Toonami!!!

There are so many specific days I can remember of watching Toonami like it was yesterday. One specific day in general while watching tenchi I remember it was one of those summer days where they sky was just an intense orange/red color i was in my old den just watching tenchi and just being so calm and happy. I feel like those of use who were lucky enough to have toonami in our lives from start to finish are truly lucky kids today have no idea what they missed out on.

Yep, this was the lineup every day after I got home from school in 7th grade. Simpler times.

Ah thank you sooo much for this! This was the summer I first discovered Toonami, and got hooked on it, so it has even more nostalgia value for me. 👍

The summer before TOM 1 was killed by the Intruder. So sad (RIP). At least Toonami was riding high that summer, having DBZ, Gundam Wing and Batman the Animated Series on its line-up. Doesn't get much better than that.

I think for me this was when it was at its peak. Soon as mid 2001 came along it just wasn’t the same. God I wish I could relive those good old days.

They tried for about a month to replace Sailor Moon and Reboot with Thundercats and Ronin Warriors and it almost immediately reverted back. I was so sick of Reboot already since it had 39 episodes and ran for a year straight already about 7 times through.
The original plan was to keep it on the Saturday midnight run once a week, but that whole plan got scrapped for the weeknight one. The fans of it and Sailor Moon were livid at their removal (SM was actually just moved out of the block to 3:30). I guess the Thundercats/Ronin hour with it’s dated animation did poorly enough to have them hastily removed

Can someone please help me? I've been trying to figure this out for about 3 years. I remember watching Toonami, but I don't remember what year. All the shows I remember that were on at the time were Cowboy Bebop, GiTS:SAC, Wolf's Rain, InuYasha, Bleach, Hamtaro and Astro Boy...andI think thats it. I think Witch Hunter Robin and Trigun were on, but I'm not entirely sure. If anyone can tell me the year they were on and what the show lineup was, I'd really appreciate it! :)

Tom wasn’t around till mid 1999 and Gundam was first added in early 2000.
