      I have spent time in 92 countries from California and gave all my assets awayin late1999 and moved to St Petersburg Russia the first week of 2000 and have loved every minutes of it. It is not just safe in the Garden Ring road but everywhere crime is very rare ad people all get a long so it is stress free living and very low cost, very easy to start a business and it is much more cultured and educated than the west.
      In my adopted city I have never seen a fight and I am everywhere in a city of 7mil. Everyone gets a long which is opposite of my native USA which is very divided, anrgy and dangerous dire poverty. The lack of culture or safe parks and bitter division makes the US a poor quality of life country. It also lies about everything. No country on earth has as dishonest politicians and media. Russians are in a better mood because they are not buried in debt, better educated and have unmatched access to culture. Those who want to have a family in the US are out of luck, it is anti-family and women hate men in the US, The cost of delivering a baby has increased from 1973 $60 to $40,000 now and there are very few young women who would accept a man who is under 6-2 and earning less than $100,000 a year so that combination represent less than 1% of men. Here in Russia raising a family is very affordable, free and the mother starting in the 3rd month of pregnancy gets fully monthly wages from family for3 years, and the state provides a grant to buy a larger home for the growing family

    You know I have been to many European cities such as Paris Geneva and others, I lived in Dubai for a year, I was in Beijing Sydney Manila Jakarta Brazil. And I can tell you with 100% certainty that Moscow is the most beautiful, the most beautiful city of all the cities I have been to. A combination of history and modern technology, accessible public transport, lots of bars, entertainment, constantly some exhibitions and theatrical performances, lots of sports. Nature! Rivers! Lakes! Available clean natural places in Moscow region and nearby areas (Suzdal Vladimir Tver). Wow, I'm just amazed! Moscow is beautiful and the best city if (except for winter 🥲)

    Filling in some informational gaps in the video: The long avenue that you were walking to reach the Moscow Kremlin is Tverskaya Boulvar. The large equestrian statue in front of the Historical Museum of the Russian Federation is of Marshal Grigorii Zhukov, hero of World War II. The flowers were surrounding the plinth of his statue because he died in the month of June. The small green chapel and the wall behind it are restorations dating from about 30 years ago. Stalin had the original structures torn down to allow large pieces of military equipment to be paraded on Red Square. The church that you were walking to is Sankt Vasillievski Cathedral, known in English as Saint Basil's. Unless things have changed, it is a national historical monument and not a working church. The raised circular structure in front of the monument to Minin and Pozharsky is the Lobnoe Mesto or the Chopping Place. Executions and public punishments were carried out here long ago. The street with the lights, as you described on the short side of GUM, is Ulitsa Nikolskaya.

    9:00 Considering the size of Russia, I doubt you'd feel anything up to 200 km from the Ukraine border. Here in Israel for example other than my city which is right in the middle of the country on the coast, you feel the war everywhere else. In my city specifically we didn't have even a single air raid or anything during pretty much every war.
    In Russia you truly feel the war in Belgorod and Donetsk, A little bit in Rostov and obviously Crimea but nothing paralyzing. For Ukraine, Considering Ukrainians are filming how the army is snatching up people from the streets I guess you feel the war directly everywhere in Ukraine.

    • @RealPolitik-dy4it
      @RealPolitik-dy4it Před měsícem +1

      Somewhat true. Basically, you are safe once you are 50-60km from the front line. Every now-and-then the Ukrainians will target some oil refinery or military facility with their drones (they have attempted strikes as far out as Kazan). Then there were a few drones that shattered some windows in Moscow a little over a year ago. But first of all, those locations are almost always far from areas where people actually live and work. Second of all, the air defense takes care of most of them. That being said, you are correct about Belgorod and Donetsk. They get shelled and droned on an almost daily basis. Although, Donetsk has gotten better since the Russians took Avdeyevka and pushed the front line further from Donetsk. Before that, residential areas of Donetsk were within mortar range. That being said, I would steer clear of Donetsk city for now.
      As for people being snatched up, Russia is currently undergoing what we call a "hidden mobilization". Instead of spamming everyone with summons' and shanghaing guys off of the street, they are A) providing prisoners with the possibility of attaining freedom in exchange for service, B) Mobilizing those who have recently canceled their contracts, and C) Providing massive salaries + cash incentives for those who join. So far, this is working, therefore the government has no need to stir the pot by snatching people off of the street. It is important to note though that just like in any country, people with better opportunities tend not to join the military. Your average person in Moscow and St. Petersburg will be highly unlikely to join up, as they can make the same if not more money as a civilian. Therefore, you don't see as many (if any) recruitment ads and billboards in those cities. However, if you head to a small provincial town where the opportunities are not so great, you will find that a lot of people are joining up. Apart from the provinces being more conservative and patriotic, what the military is offering is 6X the average salary in those areas. As a consequence, you not only see a lot of recruitment ads, but you have a lot of people from there who joined up as well. So in a way, you would notice the war if you were to go there.
