    Thank you for this, VERY helpful.
    A famous audio reviewer has been saying (for decades) that mikes shouldn't be more than 8 inches apart. To avoid the phase issues that could arise by wide-placement. For "sensitive" recordings like classical, do you think he's right ?

      I think as a general rule that is probably right but every situation is unique...
