Wow, that pilot stuck the landing. Beautiful sight.
One of the smoothest landings I’ve ever seen. It was so smooth I could somehow feel it in my living room 😁
Smooth operator
Younger Sister! Let her bigger brother rest in peace. ❤️
225 flew over me once at DFW!
Ok I was wondering. Thought Russia destroyed the last one
@@CrazyGunNoob they did.
True
There is some talk about attempting to restore the partially built second Mriya type but the cost is enormous.
This was smoother than a smoothie.
So smooth.
Landed like a feather, increadable!
butter
Like butta
Feels at home in Communist Hell A.
What a rare moment with Antonov at LAX! Great job, Kevin!!!
Today wasn’t a good day for me, health wise. But when the Antonov came into view, all that pain seemed to disappear! Nice catch!
Hope you feel better and get relief soon.
@@Sparks_Alive Thank you so much🙂
Get better soon
This beauty flies into HIA(MDT) quite often.
This is one one of many reasons why I ❤LAX. Definitely a Holy Moly moment for sure. Great view from high atop the H Hotel. 😊✈️
thankful to Sir Richard Branson for taking the lead in restoring the AN225 Mirya, senselessly destryoyed early in the Ukr/Rus war. I was able to see AN124 several times as it delivered 777 Engines to Boeing Everett since its cargo hold is immense. 777 Engines are very large.
They have carried all kinds of cargo to Boeing they can unload from both ends they have a ramp in front and a overhead crane in the back, I've unloaded many of them and pushed them back for takeoffs.
Mriya means Dream.
Gentle Giant from my motherland!!😘
Now that's called butter landing 🛬
Butter landing! Great shot Kevin!! WOW!!
Man wish there was an app that would alert you to air craft landings ! I would of loved to see this live ! 🤘🤘😱😱❤❤
Old USSR civil aviation school. Huge respect and kudos to the pilots! 👍👍👏👏👏👏
Ukraininan crew and company.
Yep
Antonovs really are some gorgeous aircraft.
Absolutely the highlight of the day!! Just wow!! I did not ever think KLAX would ever get the AN-124! God bless the bigger one and let’s absolutely hope for a massive comeback on the AN-225 being rebuilt!
Evidently there was a 225 under construction in an abandoned assembly plant. I heard they're going to try to finish it!
Fantastic landing!!! Picture perfect.
The doors didn't blow off! They must be doing it right 👍
These probably have been in service for DECADES. Very well built machines unlike the stuff that rolls out of Boeing these days.
This was my highlight of the day! I’m new and here to learn
Oh wow! I thought it was destroyed in the war. Those reversers stayed on a while. Of course, it's one of the biggest planes in the world! LOL
This is so awesome to see! Great landing!
That was the larger An-225 (six jet engines), of which only one was completed. The smaller (if you can imagine this!), four-engine An-124 in this video is one of 50-plus aircraft that were built.
Arrival shot captured just perfectly of the magnificent aircraft. Love it at LAX on AVL! ❤
Great capture. I know our everyday spotters on the hill had a good day. 💯💯💯
Wow, that was a great landing!
AN-124s are frequent visitors at Paine Field. It's so cool to see the flight crew gets the giant bird ready for flight (it's the only plane I know that carries its own tow bar).
What is the mission of the Antonov here in LA?
I believe the pilots defected and brought their plane with them
It hauls cargo all over the world.
Going through customs otw to vandenberg sfb with esa sattelite launching today, May 28
They are building a AN 225 again and the landing was butter
My favorite location for plane spotting. It's just sweet!! Thank you Kevin.
I once saw two of these parked at Houston Intercontinental Airport. Apparently, they were transporting a bunch of oilfield equipment overseas. It’s amazing seeing just one but two at the same time was something else.
Great catch Kevin. The H Hotel vantage point never disappoints.
Did that come from Belfast cuz I watched it land to refuel at Belfast international airport yesterday morning amazing plane ✈️
I saw one up close at Long Beach (LGB) over 10 years ago. My company lifted a 100 million dollar Russian satellite and placed it on a truck. Later on that night we offloaded the truck at Sea Launch at the port of Long Beach.
And does the Antonov still impressed you even though you've seen space equipment?
@@nathalieplum2137 it did impress me! I was also impressed by a 747 cargo plane that I helped load some crates onto. I was able to walk through the 747. Both are awesome to see up close. I've been lucky to see many cool things as a crane operator. I saw NASA assembling the first (or second, I don't remember?) Mars Rover at JPL. l worked on Movie's, picked up a Hippo at LA Zoo, been on and around cargo and cruise ships at the harbor. Seeing the Space Shuttle Discovery up close was cool too! A few of my old coworkers were involved in lifting Shuttle Discovery and setting it vertical back in January of this year.

That was awesome to see the Antonov AN-124 that made my day. I absolutely loved it as always. See you soon on Sunday. ❤
When we lived in Leipzig, Germany there was a fleet of Antonov's at the Leipzig Airport.
WOW, serious Butter landing..only on AVL..nice job Kevin
Great to see it souring again.
Very beautiful airport, rich infrastructure.
Awesome landing, i downloaded the AN-124 while deployed to Afghanistan in 2007 and it was carrying the new MRAP vehicles for Army and Marines combat patrols
Nice to see people walking around her for a sense of scale. ✈
That was so awesome being there. Great shot buddy.
She's a beauty man. She's a Beast she's a!!!!!!! man. They aint no words.
pure finesse
That’s a massive plane !
I live right outside of LAX and see all manner of aircraft flying in/out, but damn, sure sucks I missed this. Sweet touchdown.
Beautiful bird. Massive, even more impressive up close not in a video. What an eye feast for those present.
Wow! Glad I didn’t miss it live! ❤
Fantastic footage. So the big question is what was it carrying? Looked like a few security cars around it as it rolled to its parking spot.
Probably MVac engine nozzle extensions for SpaceX. They’re based in LA (technically Hawthorne) and they chartered an An-124 to ferry the nozzle extensions to Cape Canaveral - after departing it flew straight to the shuttle landing facility.
I guess it could also be a satellite of some kind, but I’m unaware of any satellite on manifest that would require being flown from LA
Outstanding video 🙏❤️✈️
I was invited to fly on an Antonov 124 (RA 82014) from San Francisco to Ekaterinburg, Russia in January 1992. The "passenger" section is above the cargo area in the back of the plane. Only one window, and the toilet was a plastic toilet seat, attached to a metal frame ....... with a metal bucket under the toilet seat. We nicknamed it the "Russkie Out House."
Ekatarinaburg, so did you pick up a wife while there? 😁.. its known as the city of brides right..
@@jeremyr7147 No, not in Ekaterinburg.... in Vladivostok!!
@@CdA_Native 👌👍 🇷🇺💪
Kevin, congratulations on another historic capture.
I was in that plane back in 1989 when it was CCCP-82007. It was at Brown Field for an airshow. Good to see it in the US again. Thanks!
May 22nd 1988. I also walked into this plane CCCP-82007 and noticed lots of saliva on its tires. Now I feel bad for Ukraine.
@@yw0522 It could have been May of '88 when I was there. I guessed it was '89 but it was a guess. I went up in the front and the crew let me sit in the left seat. With my broken Russian and their broken English they explained all the systems. I had been on C-5A aircraft in the Air Force. I never thought I'd be able to sit in a Soviet transport, so it was very interesting to me. Yeah, it was still during Soviet times and it was all one country. After the breakup of the USSR, I spent time in Russia. I never thought this would happen.
@@yw0522 you feel bad for Ukraine because you are conditioned by the media! You would feel bad for Russia if you thought for yourself
Great job Kevin the let's you catch the best shots from LAX.
It says " BE BRAVE " 🫡
Be Brave like Mykolaiv. Several of the Ruslans have "Be Brave Like XXXXX" on the nose as a remembrance to the lives lost in this stupid war.
Seus pousos nós Aeroportos, eram um acontecimento especial!
what a monster.........kudos to the pilot....I'm surprised the landing gear doesn't have landing gear....lolol...beautiful !!!
Great landing for a huge monster of a plane- Antonov AN-124. I read that it can hold 150 tons of cargo.
I want to see the AN 124 in person. I've never seen one in person. The AN 124 looks really cool!
I've pushed them all over the place .They leak like crazy they fly the heck out of them, though, so I don't think they get a lot of maintenance.
Perfect landing 👍☺️☺️👍
great job capturing its arrival !
Dang! I wish I knew when that was coming in. I would have seen it fly over my house!
That's a beast. Lordy.
Antonov AN-124 😍😍😍
I live in LA! How did I not know about this?!
Beautiful 👍
I wish people would stop talking about Luftansa. Things happen let it go!😊
Just don't talk about it...
Can't hold it back anymore...
Thanks Kevin. Love it
Question is....why is it there?
Seems it was the one chartered to fly MVac engine nozzle extensions for SpaceX. Landed at the shuttle landing facility after departing LAX, so it seems really likely that this was the reason
So lucky to see that the last few days my phone hasn’t completely been working and when I’m watching live streams doesn’t stay live even when I reset my phone and everything so couldn’t watch today because of how annoying that is but great video wish I could’ve seen it live love the sister aircraft to the an225. Also sounded great on landing with reverse thrusts
That's a nice catch! You don't see these types of planes in this side of the world very often.
Super smooth landing for such a big bird!!
Dude. You’re in a roll
This AN124 (reg UR-82007) participated in May 22 1988 San Diego air show. Its reg# was CCCP-82007, It belonged to Soviet Union then.
I walked into this airplane and I saw several people spitting on its tires. I believe some people hated USSR at that time..l still have some picures and I was 39 year old
And now we love it! Many people don't realize how much the Ukrainians helped the Soviet Union's technological development, including Antonov. One of the reasons why Putin is so hell-bent on dragging them back into the Kremlin's orbit is because Russian tech has never been the same, and a big part of it was losing Ukraine after the fall of the Soviet Union.
I would love to see Western countries start ordering Antonov planes like these. They are on-par with US heavy-lift aircraft.
@@TheEDFLegacy imagine if over 90% of the ukrainians had voted to rejoin Russia? I'm sure none of the American alphabet agencies would have a problem with that.
@@TheEDFLegacy you have zero clue what you are talking about you must be a biden voter
SPIRIT represent!
Awesome video!! Wow, that thing is massive, sucks that the AN225 is no longer apart of the antonov fleet :(
Smooth landing awesome good job to the polits !!
Wow massive!!
I work there and I saw ur close up I recorded it it it was AWSOME
Beautiful aircraft!
Beautiful!
Old car show, old airplane show …I like it
I watched one of these take off in Albuquerque NM in 2019.
Good catch Kevin! Love AVL
The tires didn t even smoked, wow!
SPECTACULAR!❤️👍🏾👍🏾
Absolutely awesome
Reverent silence . . . stunning.
Fabulous looking airplane.
Same bird was at BWI/TM on Friday , 5/3.
Amazing piece of work … 💝thanks for sharing ❤
