"I" was born in 1941! so That made me 4 yrs old in 45. I barely rcall WW2, But I do recall this era of Music! It kept America going! in some tough times ! even as a kid, I recall my mom and dad, having dinner conversations, About the war news! My Dad was building P 47s for republic Aircraft! in our home town.... Sadly, every so often, they would mention, a family losing , a Husband , or a son, "OVER THERE!" This music sure did help! Richard Krause
Also born in 1941!! But this music is and has been my favorite due to Mom and Dad!!
I was born in 1938 and I remember the WW II years. I had a couple of teenage sisters still living at home and I remember them listening to
the music that was popular at that time like this recording of the “Hit Parade.” I grew to also like it and now I’m 85 and still do!
Born in 1941...but my Mom and Dad loved music!! My Mom was even in a band before I came along... such beautiful 😍 music and lyrics!!
I was born in 1940, my mom always played her records for me, her favorite singer was Bing, went to all the movies he was in. To listen to these great songs really brings back the best memories.
Nothing can beat Bing!
And I was born in 1938, so I also grew up listening to the music that was popular during the World War II era. Now I’m 85 and still enjoy it.
I was born 1950.my father was a music lover.bing grosby one of his favorite singer at that time. I can recall my father sungs bing grosby songs. Am now 74 yrs old.. Tnanx for service in this connection.
I was born in 1966, but great Music. Greeting from Hamburg/ Germany.
I was born in 42, grew up on these songs, played these records over and over in Kate 40s
I love it, four Laura's!
Great music from the Greatest Generation......
Candy- Johnny Mercer-
Great song- Great melody and lyrics! Classic…
I was born 1945 but do like the music.
I'm in my 40's, but I love this wonderful treasures. The lyrics, the artists, the voices. Thank you so much to the people who created this channel. It is an oasis in this insane world of today. 🥰
My Grandma's Going To Be 101, this is her music (this and big band) she still talks about swing dancing with my grandfather and the whole era...I listen mesmerized of an era that's so foreign from now... innocent and delightful and then this plays and it becomes what black and white movies are made from. Thank you for this. 🥰❤🌹
I'm just today playing this to calm down my 98 year old mom who is in recuperation from a broken upper arm....no surgery they said...only a cast and let in mend best it can...several weeks.
She knew! There's never been anything like it since then. But guess what, it can be new again when people like you listen to it and appreciate it. That's what brings it back because nobody ever said that being popular once isn't the end of everything.
I think I was born too late I'm 81
When I was young, my dad, a WWII veteran a bit older than my mom, taught us to dance to 40s music. It makes me think of those moments, and I love it still.
Its my music too
Im in my 40s absolutely love this beautiful music one of my favorites been listening almost everyday so beautiful peaceful and happy and gives me all the wonderful memories of my grandparents i miss soooo much!! Thank you for this beautiful music
My Mom was born in 1925 and that makes her 20 in 45' so I thought I'd buy this CD for her for her B-day. I never saw these sort of record's in my parents collection as a kid though, they had stuff like Al hurt and Trini Lopez and Herb Alpert and Johnny Rivers for some reason, so I hope she actually likes this era of music.
She had the best birthday date of anybody. She was in the best of times in the late 30s and 40s when the war was on and for her, the fun was starting. Not such fun elsewhere. And then, she's old now but that's in store for everybody. Lucky her!
Who shot your mom . GERMANS? It was a bad time for Europe, Russia, United Kingdom as an the men fighting to free it. My grandpa was excuted too . I'm sorry that happened. I Pray 4 Peace in Europe again.
She always used to sing that song Deers eat oat's and doe's eat oat's and little lamb's eat ivy. LOL I think that was from around then. At 98 she still sings her songs.
Don't get much better than this!
I cant help but think of my Dad whenever I listen to the Songs from the 30s-40s. He loved the Big Band era, he favrite was the Glenn Miller orchestra. He had a big collection of 78 records then 331/3 albums of the same music in the 60s and later in Life he had them all on Cds. Thank You Dad for my love of this Music
Vaughn Munroe greatest talent ever. The one musician with a music degree. Such velvet tones.
Gerhard Leitner, Sydney, Australia
This was music played on the Blue Danube network (Vienna) during " Luncheon Matinee" between 13:00-14:00. This was my favorite radio station from 1949- 1953 - when I started travelling....
I was born at very end of baby boom era and had siblings much older than me. We had a large radio and everyone in the house had a different style or era of music they played. My mom always played music from the 40's, which is when she was a teenager. I always loved it and when it had a comeback in the 90's I bought several cd's with this music, including new artists reviving old songs and music style from then. My adult kids enjoy it too
Great hit! Never will be like this. 🎼🎶🎼🎵💝
la musique de mon enfance !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is from the year before I entered high school. It brings back great memories of a different time. I love listening.

This is Music ... What a beauty! It is relaxing, it manifests the feelings clean and without malice. Thanks for sharing it with us.
I agree. Well said, MR Olmedo.
Pleasant melodic tunes. Don't write them like this anymore. If you like nostalgia try this....
This is really Great music ! The sound quality is over the Top. Thank You for this. ❤ Paul 🇺🇸
I was 5 years old 81 now but remember them
Indeed yes !!! These are also very nice classic tunes. Well done, guys...
And this came out 62 years after I was born 😅😅😅
I'm from Trinidad and the first song caught me off guard I've never heard this song before...😮😮 it's a rather unique song
Wonderful - brings fond memories flooding back ...
Bridge Over Troubled Waters was first conceived as a gospel song. It became apparent with the piano interludes which was added as an afterthought , it having the same tune throughout... It's a very soulful melancholic melody... And it will make you remember things😤
Fantastic Hit Parade! Thank You Very Much!
Love this music 🥰
Wow - the Rum and Cola song would SO be cancelled today!!!
Great music from a great era!
An era , les we forget. 😊
ME ADENTRO A MIS 93 AÑOS DE VIDA, Y SIN MENOSPRECIAR LA DECADA DE LOS 60'S CON EL PASADO SENTIMENTAL NO LO CAMBIO Y ESA MUSICA DE ANTAÑO OTRO MUNDO: QUE TIEMPOS AQUELLOS SEÑOR DON SIMON!!!.
God bless you!
Great music. I especially liked Frank Sinatra and Duke Ellington, as well as the song "Rum and Coca-Cola", which filled with the atmosphere of Cuba. By the way, if you mix Coca-Cola with rum, you get a cocktail called Cuba Libre.
Estupendo 😊 momento que agradable musica.
magnific

Geweldig!
The name caught me. I thought this was an actual episode/episode compilation of Hit Parade from 1945.
This was the background music of a preschooler. Arouses earliest memories (of a much more agreeable time).
Is amazing what are the collection you have, some are just gems long forgotten by time, some I am listening for the first time, while others are just beautiful. Very thoughtful of you to come up with the accompanying wonderful pictures. Thanks

My Mom was born in 1925,also. Tru the big bands
Musicas imortais
👍
Not performances from the radio program, "Your Hit Parade", but recordings of performances that made the Hit Parade in 1945. I guess.
Thanks once again for another wonderful music post! As with the 1940 Hit Parade post, I'm especially grateful for your including multiple versions of the same songs, though all the versions of ell Bottom Trousers" got wearing. I was especially struck by the three versions of "I'm Beginning to See the Light" by Duke Ellington, Harry James (one of the few white covers of one of Ellington's songs I find better than the original) and Ella Fitzgerald with the Ink Spots (how did she get the Ink Spots' lead tenor, Bill Kenny, to swing even before she entered?). I've long been familiar with both versions of "Caldonia" even though Louis Jordan's, though slower, swings WAY harder. (The Rolling Stones also often did faster versions of Black songs thinking this would achieve the same effect, which it didn't.) Spike Jones' humor hasn't aged well, but there are some pleasant surprises, including Dick Haymes' beautifully phrased version of "Laura," the best record I've heard from him.
Curious. I can't seem to find the recording for Cocktails for Two that sounds like the one in this album, only the original recordings. Does anyone have the link or know where to find the recording used in this album for the song 'Cocktails for Two'? If you do, thank you if you post it
🙏❤️🇵🇹
It's a fact, man, it's a fact.
How to get this music in better quality ?
