There's not that much problem completing the Johto Dex since Kanto and Johto are already accessible in HGSS
MOST of the Hoenn Region Pokemons came from Johto's Safari Zone since the only accessible regions in Gen IV games are Kanto, Johto and Sinnoh.
I really like Safari Zone from the previous games but.. HGSS' Safari Zone is just pretty complicated.. let's just say that it's annoying.
I can just Pal Park Hoenn Pokemons from my Emerald, but I don't wanna strip all Gen III from my Emerald where in fact I can actually get them in Safari Zone

A job well done! I just graduated from high school and it’s been a goal of mine to finish the National Pokédex of HeartGold since my 7th Grade year, as it’s my first Pokémon game, by-far my favorite, and my second-favorite video game. I’m closing in on achieving that goal! (471 seen & 465 caught out of 493.) I actually set aside some graduation money for myself and found an eBay Listing of a Japanese HeartGold cartridge. On it, there’s a bunch of Japanese Event Pokémon from Fateful Encounters! I can’t wait for that cartridge to get here. Again, well done on achieving this!

currently working on my own living dex! i picked soul silver as my "hub" because gen 1 - 4 are what i mainly play, and silver was my fav as a kid. SS also has my fav art style plus the nice following and wonderful post game. ive got some playthrus going on firered, emerald, diamond/pearl/plat and HG to finish up but im getting close! i wont be able to get some event pokemon (i think) but thats really no big deal to me. i had them at one point (long since gone on that wii/pokemon ranch tho) that was my first time doing a living dex was when pokemon ranch came out. this made me so happy and excited, thank you. 💖✨
edit: im trying to get decent natures and movesets for everyone too. the goal being to eventually be able to grab really any team and go have an adventure. i think thats what SS/HG are the best for and why its my favorite. the true endgame and catch em all options. specifically the safari zone, which saved me from having to buy ruby/sapphire. anyways sorry for rambling haha.

Breed an Eevee. Give them Stones for Vaporeon, Flareon, and Jolteon. Level Up with High Happiness level during Night or Day for Umbreon and Espeon. Level up in an area where there's a Mossrock for Leafeon and in an area where there's an Ice Rock for Glaceon (Mossrock and Ice Rock are only available in DPPT)

you can trade between 4th Gen games, that includes the Sinnoh games DPPt (Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum) and HGSS (Heart Gold, Soul Silver),. And yes, 4th Gen Games have all the I~IV Gen pokemons

I completed my full national pokédex in X with SoulSilver, Black, White 2, Alpha Sapphire and Virtual Console Yellow and Silver, alongside some Mystery Gifts (Volcanion, Hoopa, Genesect, Meloetta, Keldeo, Victini, Arceus, Shaymin, Darkrai, Mew, Celebi, Jirachi, Phione & Manaphy). With those pokémon and GTS I could also trade with other people to get my full national pokédex in Moon, Ultra Moon, Shield (alongside it's DLC's) and Home. My first game ever was Alpha Sapphire and bought almost at least one game in every generation & region (except R/S/E). My personal favorite is X due to the anime and my home country (Belgium) near France, where Kalos is based on. I also have been to Paris (Lumiose City) twice already.

@@midwestapprentice1904 if you mean the gen 4 national pokédex, it's best to have Emerald, Diamond, Pearl and if you want to collect all mythicals, the easiest way at that point were Mew, Celebi & Deoxys from Emerald events, Arceus, Shaymin, Manaphy & Phione from Diamond/Pearl events, Jirachi from the bonus disc or HGSS Japanese event. Celebi from Crystal is also possible.

I just bought soul silver today and I want to make a living dex. What is the proper way to do so? I know gen 1 and 2 can be traded amoungest themselves but how do I trade gen three 1-3 to gen 4, and is it possibly to acquire the event exclusives?
for living dex up to Gen 4 you need to play the Gen 4 games, namely Heart Gold and Soul Silver (HGSS), and Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum (DPPt) - all Pokemon from Gen 1 to 4 are spread among those games, and those games can trade with each other. As per the event exclusives, perhaps there's a technology out there that can emulate it by now

Wow! Congratulations! I'm trying to do the same for pokwmon x, but at a pathetic rate... Anyway, I hope people understand that more than 50% of the pokemon in the video are common in the wild and are easy to evolve. So, it's definitely not impossible, but it does take QUITE a bit of time. Still, it's a very fun challenge!
Real stupid how they put the Kanto legendary birds in Platinum instead of making the Regis normally available, to my knowledge, the Regis are the only reason you would need any of the GBA games to complete the dex, that and if you wanna go the extra mile and glitch yourself the event Pokemon via Glitzer Popping. ( I think thats how its spelled)
We know that the game is played in Kanto and Johto. So how can you get pokémons from other generations (3 and 4)? through exchanges? or do they just appear wildly?
Heart Gold and Soul Silver (HGSS) can trade with Diamond, Pearl, Platinum (DPPt) since they are all 4th Gen games. Though I can't remember where you can catch Hoenn Pokemons between HGSS and DPPt

How'd you get all the starters cuz I'm pretty sure that they aren't from events?
Here's how
1. 1 Gen I starter from Prof Oak after defeating Red in HGSS
2. Gen II starters are available in HGSS
3. 1 Gen III obtainable from Steven in HGSS after beating Red
4. Gen IV starters are from DPPt
5. Go transfer pokes from Gen III games (FRLG, RSE) to DPPt via Pal Park

shiny palkia this way (it gives you random pokemon with dex number from 001-493 and also hes using a emulator that has action replay with it..... and i will post a video of proof of what im saying
Wow.. truly amazing! BTW, This cannot be cheated.. or he would be a gigantic nolifer for filling all these different but yet logical dates in AND the levels. and the pokeballs. This is actual truth. if he did cheat. he wouldnt have shown all the pokes summary. I praise to you lord of pokedex. this is truly amazing. but how did you get the 3 starters and stuff may i ask? i mean. you must have picked mudkip or something for example and then howd you get Torchic and Treecko? as with the other starters picked. traded? that would be kinda lame.. but still amazing pokedex.

I do have multiple legendaries with the same specie simply because they came from different games where they are also available. Giratina for example, it is available in Gen IV version (DPPT) thus allowing you to capture a total of 3 Giratinas from those games

DDJ rox shiny trio? you referring to the shiny beasts right? I do play it in DS, and just actually used an Emu to record a vid. Not trying to change the target of your rant, but here, clearly you're the one who knows a lot about action replay

@@DDJrox the shiny beasts are event pokemon for the Zoroark movie and when you transfer them to Black and White, you get Zoroark. They are legit.

I don't get it... that level 47 origin forme Giratina is not real unless you somehow got a level 1 Giratina from the Sinjoh ruins with Arceus which would give you the Griseous Orb... but you don't have a level 1 Giratina also you couldn't have gotten a Griseous Orb from Platinum because you can't trade it from that game... right?
