My favourite stories about this song are firstly that yungblud freestyled his verse in ten minutes the first time he and MGK got together, the second is that they spent ages recording the chorus trying to get yungblud to pronounce his 'th's for 'thing' because he just naturally says 'fing'. I don't know why people criticise MGK's voice, yeah it's not like classically polished but that's half the power of it. I love his singing voice, his cover of Rhianna really impressed me as did the Paramore one. It seems some people just don't like the idea of a rapper singing. Oh, if you haven't checked out Original Me with Dan Reynolds you should- much screaming in it for you. It's the song Yungblud discovered he could do screamer vocals when making.

I love how you know some of the lyrics and are just enjoying the song and the vid! I love Dom (Yungblud) so much and have made so many friends in the BHC from his music. My best friend I actually met from my first (and only) concert of his and I'm so glad she found me on twitter after bc I was too anxious to talk to her in line. Allegedly after MGK YUNGBLUD literally listend to the Song went in the booth and free styled his Verse like if this isn't the biggest "I understand what I just heared" I don't know what is.
I think MGK is getting flack for the Paramore cover just bc Misery Business is just like an iconic rock song and people think they’re the gatekeepers of rock and have to be overly critical of his performance.

I think people were trying to compare his voice to Hayley’s. Imo he shouldn’t get any flak when the song is not meant to be sang by a guy; and he’s being compared to one of the best singers pop punk has ever seen.
I know I am like 5 years to late but I do not get the whole MGK hate the dude to me seems like he never hated a fly but for some reason he has been the punching back going on for so many so long. *shrug* Well, I guess people a) really forget the severitiy of hateful messages and the word hate itself or b) Some people need therapy to get a lil more hate free.
