Benfica was one of the 1st dominant European clubs. 5 finals appearances and 2 championships in the 1960's.

Football has become entertainment for the middle-classes. Before the pandemic you saw these supporters in the stadiums all dressed in brand clothes and taking photos with their smartphones. These people have no clue about the history of football.
I'm a Sporting fan, but Benfica deserve all the credit for what they have done throughout their history. By the way, this video deserves more views and comments.
Good call. Despite being born in the 1970s Eusebio is one of my all-time favorite footballers and believe he should be mentioned alongside the likes of Maradona, Pele, Messi, Ronaldo, and C. Ronaldo.

As a Benfica fan i can't ever forget when Sporting literally lend their pitch for Benfica to train and play in, because Salazar's Regime, at the time, decided to make a city-project on top of Benfica's Stadium (for some reason) and move it away from Lisbon with the promise of rebuild (that never came) several dozens of kilometers away from the original stadium! Sporting was the club that had the integrity to rise above everything that was going-on, and genuinely helped (and not only Benfica)! For that, and despite me being a Benfica fan, Sporting Clube de Portugal, will always have my deepest Respect!

The Benfica board really messed up in 1962 by not giving Bela Guttman a payraise. It's been said this refusal has put a curse on the club, destined not to win another European cup for 100 years.

For a Hungarian the 1962 cup final sounds like a real treat. Bela Guttmann vs. the mighty Ferenc Puskas. Loved it. So happy for Benfica yet a little sorry for Real Madrid.
Benfica seem to go under the radar a bit but boy this was a great side. Eusebio the king of Portugal along with Ronaldo now but he was the first man to put Portuguese football on the map

Ele na verdade não tem um sotaque diferente, apenas como tem uma fala muito pautada é mais fácil compreender o seu português.
