  • Towards the end of February, Geometric Power Plant, an independent power generation company located in Osisioma, Aba, Abia State was inaugurated in the state.
The private electricity company said to be the first of its kind in Nigeria, had said it would provide power supply to the commercial city after it and Aba Power secured a 20-year concession from the Federal Government of Nigeria to supply power exclusively to the Aba industrial city and its surrounding communities.
Following the commissioning of the plant on February 26, social media erupted with claims and counterclaims of the commercial city enjoying a 24-hour electricity supply.
The woman said in Igbo, “Light choke! Aba to the world! Aba amala mma (Aba is now beautiful). Aba bu para para (Aba is exceptional). Unu logharia, Aba bu dachi (you people should come back, Aba is now confirmed).
“See how many days now? Oh God! See as everywhere just dey chill. Wetin person wan give Alexi Otti wey go dey enough? Light e choke,” she repeated in unbridled excitement.
Expectedly, several people replied to the video lauding the feat while some others, not believing the report, said they needed more evidence. Another group of people expressed interest in relocating to Aba solely due to the light situation and also for the survival of their businesses.

Prof. NNAJI'S Wife is a real piller. I can see her supportiveness and commitment to the project. These sets of women are very scarce these days. She is calm and allows her husband to lead. Thank you, Prof & Mrs Nnaji, and the entire staff of geometrics setting a standard in the power sector in Nigeria- what the Nigeria government could not achive for 62.

Yes we can do it without waiting for the government. Lets move from 'i better pass my neighbour' to initiatives like Baths. At the end of the day we are the government. If the clowns vested with power decide to jump on their mattresses , pillows and sheets we take the bull by the horn. I passionately advocate for partnering with geometric power and Bath Nnaji if you are a Nigerian for your own local governments and states. Not only with geometric power but with the 'nords' and 'innosons' .Great initiative professor Bath.

    Nice one.
Internet (data) business will give them tremendous profit!
In fact, MTN and glo data will be an old story if Geometric power plant floats their fiber optics Internet.
I would advise investors to lay their cables underground.
Abia state government should build an underground tunnel in Aba for Internet cables, water pipes, gas pipes and electricity cables.
Free advice from me lol. If you want Aba to be smart city, remove all those electric poles on the street channel all the electricity underground. It is easy to maintain and safer when electricity is underground. It makes the street to look good.😊.
Every house should have pipe water! ( close down all the borehole) . Every house should an access to gas, water, Internet just like in European cities.
Government should embark on building low cost residential apartments!!!
Government should buy or takeover the buildings. ( demolish them phase by phase) rebuild them, give flats to the owners and rent other ones at cheaper rate.
Government can also build skyscrapers and relocate people there. Then knock old buildings down and rebuild them.

No company is in biz to lose money. If the tarrif set by the govt is too costly and may cause you to lose money, what do you do to save your company from going under?

    • @ObjectiveObserver-xh4vk
      @ObjectiveObserver-xh4vk Před 5 měsíci +3

You need to compare the tariff with the cost of running generators with maintenance.
Or poor power supply from EEDC.
It is far better to be served by Goemetric.
