  • Cover of "blood of my Enemies" by Manowar from the album Hail to England.
    Everything recorded and performed by me in a bedroom using a Yamaha MT2X mukltitrack cassette recorder.
    The output fo the Yamaha was captured digitally. No mastering or post production, what you hear is the sound fo the tape recorder.
    I put my own spin on the arrangement but the copyright in the music and lyrics belongs to Manowar obviously.
    This is an excerpt from a review/demo/tutorial of the the aforementioned Yamaha 4 track video, (if you've stumbled on this video as a Manowar fan, this is what I usually do on this channel) but I thought I'd publish the song sperately...

    This is an except from a forthcoming video about the Yamaha MT2X...its going to be about an hour long and its taking forever to edit...meantime I thought I'd publish the song from the tutorial section on its own.

      I am a fan of its next iteration, the MT3X. Lots of clarity. Different vibes from the Tascam line. Also this is great 🤘🏻🤘🏻

      Thanks, David. The solo was a last-minute addition, but I'm really pleased with how it turned out. It's probably my favourite bit of this recording.

      I like all those artefacts too....just an FYI that the unit is capable of less of those depending on how its maintained and used.

    That was spot on and welk recorded for the medium limitations. Maybe consider a death metal demo track with all the gruesome bells and whistles of the past the next time 🌶️

      Thanks! I'm not convinced everyone who follows my channel shares my love of extreme metal subgenres, but if I can build my chops up, I'd like to record a gorguts / cryptopsy inspired track one day...

    Hearing the intro, I thought something is seriously wrong with that cassette recorder. But everything else is really great. Checked out the original, it sounds like a joke, you sound real.

      Thanks! I love Manowars daft shtick, but I also understand why a lot of my mayes can't stomach the band... I tried to tone down the pomp in my interpretation, so I'm glad that translated. I've noticed China crash cymbals and natural harmonics especially betray wow and flutter from cassette recordings, and the introduction to this song includes a third generation bounce of both, so I guess that's why the pitch artefacts are so much more noticeable during the introduction?

    Hey man! Love our videos, your Tascam 424 mkiii repair videos are great! I was wondering what steps I should take to fix my tascam mkiii, as it shut off as I were recording and it won't turn back on. Any advice? Thanks man, keep it up!

      Thanks.For no power, these would be my first steps - use a DMM to check there is still voltage coming from the power adapter. If so, check the solder joints under the bottom board where the power input socket joints are intact. Those can break from the repetitive force of the psu plug being inserted and removed.

      Ughh alright, so it wasn't the power supply. I attempted to get into the Tascam, but 3 of the screw heads have completely snapped off and I have no idea what to do or how to get them out of the machine. Any suggestions? Cheers mate! @@Tetrakan

    Manowow And Flutter! Not familiar with their work, but seems very jolly. Keep 'em coming.:)

      @Tetrakan  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks! Fluttery will get you everywhere. I don't know whether Manowar are joking or not, and neither do the band members. All their songs are about either dying in battle, riding Harleys, or how metal is the most pure and glorious genre 👍

    Hello! Can you help me, I haven’t found another way to contact you, so I’ll write in the comments lol.
    Can you please recommend a cassette recorder that can record 4 tracks (or more than 4) simultaneously?
    I want to try recording my jams on tape, but it turns out that some devices can only record 2 tracks at a time.
    Thank you!

    • @Tetrakan
      @Tetrakan  Před 6 měsíci

      There are dozens of options, but sticking with Tascam, any of the three iterations of the 424 series, the 464 246 and 414 all have this facility
