    It's mad how different builds sound in real life. I did this exact build and it sounds like a different keyboard. Yours sounds way better lol

      it sounded pretty similar in real life back when i still had the keyboard

      agreed. I have pretty much the same build as someone else and theirs sounds so much better. A lot of factors go into play here though; the type of surface you are typing on, background noise, sound editing (if the video has any), and and reverberations from surroundings/surfaces.

      if you’re using iso top mount or top mount then yes, otherwise no

      Mine doesn't. Just make sure you don't overtighten the top mount screws and that you get the copper internal weight.

    • @fad2679
      @fad2679 Před 6 měsíci

      Does the copper internal weight really make that much of a difference? I'm thinking of getting one@@mihneagogu1389

    I have the same config on my Sonnet, but I feel like it doesn't sound as clacky as yours does. Could it possibly have something to do with how your mic interprets the sound of the board?

    • @Ken_Jones
      @Ken_Jones Před rokem +3

      That's the issue with sound tests. It depends on the mic they are recording on AND on your own sound output device.

    • @JesusXina
      @JesusXina Před rokem

      @@Ken_Jones yeah, i've noticed that from a lot of sound tests.
      I noticed that you said that the board really benefits from plate foam, but I found that plate foam really overpowers the board's sound if that makes sense. Have you tried stacking the PCB on the plate foam instead of the silicone dampener? I've found that it really makes the board sound fuller without the need to dampen the sound with the silicone sheet.

    • @failedz
      @failedz  Před rokem

      @@JesusXina i took out the silicone and tried burger mounting with plate foam which i liked more than the silicone since it mutes the sound a lot and makes it stiff while keeping a similar higher pitched sound

      You don't buy these boards to be quiet. If you want a quiet board it costs $30 with some silent switches
