not about memory, well actually yes but not that you know which notes you are playing. Its like walking, once you can do it you dont think about it anyore. Once you learned how to play a song/solo you dont have to think about the notes that much. You more likely remember the first note and how it looks and boom. If something sounds wrong you think again and then you have it. Once you are over that point nothing can stop ya! Keep rocking man!

Out of curiosity, how did you discover/learn that the tuning was drop C#? It's obvious that the song wasn't in standard tuning but finding a different tuning alone is difficult by ear.
learn it slow. it will not sound that amazing but repeat as many times as it takes until you can increase the tempo. even if it's a thousand times. I know it's not easy, but this was the work of one of the best guitarists of all times. of course it's not easy.
