Making Najeon-Chilgi Jewelry Boxes | Art Insider - Jak na to + styl
Would love one of those boxes. So beautiful 😍
Got one for my mother and she loves it. It's even more beautiful in person!
Go to their Instagram.
Just got the butterfly and rose box from them. My mother loves it!
Gorgeous! So much intricate detail!
So beautiful!
This is so amazing 😻🔥😍
Very pretty 😀
I want a custom sheath for my tanto made like these.
February Mountain are on Etsy guys!!!
What is ‘a sheet’ of mother of pearl? Is t mother of pearl a shell? Questions…. And once the ‘mother of pearl’ is cut w the jig saw how are the paper thin layers made? Beautiful but to an artists eye this lovely work is still a mystery
The mother of pearl is a shell from an oyster, abalone, or turban snail. The shell is sliced thin before it is cut with the saw (I have no clue how though).
It's some BS is what it is🦊🚬
No clue, but as a carver and artisan, I FULLY intend to find out!
where did they find so many huge sheet of mother-of-pearl?
It's actually a bunch of shells thinly sliced and glued together. Think wood veneer. It looks like the plaster a bunch of these sheets together in stacks that way they can cut a bunch of shapes out at once using the saw.
I need 1 for the 420 stash box
promosm ❣️
it will flake off in no time. that dob bone glue looks weak
not at all. Stop hating. I have one of those boxes, it is over 30 years old.
How did you miss the part of the video where they coated the box in multiple layers of lacquer?
My Korean mom has one of those wardrobe inherited from her grand mother. It's more than 150 years old and still looks good as new.
It's also being coated in lacquer, which do not deteriorate like normal epoxy glue, mother of pearl arts have been done for thousands of years and many pieces have stood the test of time fpr hundreds of years as long as they're kept well
@@june7681 bet that is a BREATHTAKING piece of furniture! Wish I could see pictures!
Congrats on being early and finding this comment 💎
