  • In this video you'll meet Jim Lattimore as he discusses his experience purchasing and taking delivery of his new Newmar New Aire motorhome. Jim's no stranger to the RV lifestyle and owned two Prevost busses and a Flxible Starliner prior to purchasing his New Aire.
    Some may wonder why Jim went from a large Prevost luxury motor coach to a much smaller Newmar New Aire. In this video Jim explains why his decision made sense in what he hopes to experience in this stage of his life and his first impressions of his Newmar New Aire motorhome.

    You interrupt your guests too much. You need to slow down. Calm your AHDH a bit. Speak slower.

    It’s only taken manufacturers 20 years to build a smaller upscale coach that Bluebird Wanderlodge was building decades ago.

    What a beautiful location! I think I would have kept the Prevost though...

    I fully agree with the philosophy of buy the best you can afford the first time. My wife and I have an appointment on Wednesday morning to look at a used Newmar Mountain Aire. What are your thoughts on Newmars Comfort Steering?

    • @thedestroyer3262
      @thedestroyer3262 Před 5 lety +1

      People say it feels weird at first but after about 20 mins of driving you get used to it and most people that own a newmar with comfort steering say they will never buy another coach without it.

    Fortunately there are a wealth of full descriptive interior and exterior videos of the New Aire (Mt Comfort R.V. has several.) What I would have loved to hear from the new owner (minus all the blather about your being a fanboy for the Prevo busses is this) - there are 3 floor plans for the New Aire what were the things that made this version his choice over the other two?

    I went to your website to find the checklist you showed in this video. I can’t find it. Yes, the manufacturer should give us one but you could do the same. It looked well done. Where is it? How can I print a copy of it? Thank you ahead of time.

      Please note that my checklist is geared to my specific coach and what works for me may not work for you. With that said, I hope to have a video up soon about checklists that I think you'll find helpful.

    All the RV manufacturers have been struggling to keep up with the demand over the past years. I have read numerous people complaining about quality control issues (Newmar included). There is another NewAire CZcams owner who has had non stop problems with his. Said he could NOT recommend the 2018 Newaire from the first year of production.

      Yes, that's Ben's channel - He has one of the first New Aire's built. He also has virtually no dealer support. There are a lot of 2018 owners not seeing any of the issues he's seen. Ours is a February build and it's been fine.

      Rebel Lucy, I have watched the videos you wrote about. Not sure if you realized it but that guy got into an accident . Almost all of the problems he is having seems to have happened after his accident. Also for some reason or another he refuses to go to a dealership and have his coach fixed under warranty. All RVs have growing pains and i mean ALL. If you look at the problems they are all minor. he has only had about 4 issues i'm not including the ones i think are from his accident. in a year and only having 4 super small issues is really good! Plus this is this guys 1st RV, he has never ever owned an RV before . so he has no idea about RVs and things just go wrong. its not a house. RVs are a cross between a house and a car. As we all know cars often have more problems then houses do...

    have you thought of looking at the super c, like from show hauler. from what I understand they have lots of power and space. and like were the provost build for long range long time duty. the super c use truck cab and chaise so are build for comfort of the driver over long distance. and lots of power for going up grades and pulling stuff.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  Před 5 lety +1

      I haven't driven one of those, but since the engine is in the front, aren't they much noisier than diesel pushers?

    • @michaeldytrych
      @michaeldytrych Před 5 lety

      They are a bit noisier. Very popular for family oriented buyer, also number one for safety and capable of hauling and towing incredible number of weight. Definitely best fit to someone who always dreamed to drive big rig. Oh, almost forgot......a lot of power if you choose one of those powerful ones

    • @thedestroyer3262
      @thedestroyer3262 Před 5 lety +1

      Yes a little bit noisier but a top of the line show hauler is $500-600k msrp with every option ticked and you get a 600hp engine, 1 million mile chassis, 40k lbs towing capacity and most importantly much better safety considering the engine is the crumple area not your legs also they have proof of a coach surviving a roll over with such minimal damage that once it had been put back on its wheel the owner was able to drive it home. Obviously there are downside like losing 10ft of living space due to the engine being in front and cab area not being usable when parked and then a little extra noise when driving but other than those a super C is a much better option compared to a similarly priced Class A.

    • @TheGadgetGuru
      @TheGadgetGuru  Před 5 lety

      All good points. What's your thought about Super C models not being welcomed at some motor coach resorts?

    • @thedestroyer3262
      @thedestroyer3262 Před 5 lety

      It pretty stupid to me to not welcome Super C RVs in some resorts there are built the same if not better than the majority of Class As and as long as they aren't the big white box super Cs and actually have paint and are well kept then imo there is no reason to exclude them.

      Thats the same for every motor home and RV apart from Newell and Prevost! Everyone knows that once you buy a new RV the minute you sign on the dotted line and drive your RV off the lot it loses money.

    • @markreynolds9135
      @markreynolds9135 Před 5 lety

      Considering you can still get 30% or more off a new RV and it still loses that much value when leaving the lot shows how much profit is being made.

    Good starter coach for who Bill gates son lol . Sorry was not born with a silver spoon just a blue collar guy. The average Canadian family income is 50 thousand so 30 take home after the goverment steals their cut. 20 years salary after income taxes and deductions without the cost of a house and food and car or any money to live on this is fucking insulting. You would have to be a millionaire at the very least to afford this gas insurance storage etc.. What planet are these fools from they make it sound like everyone has a butler and chauffer my first RV cost 6 grand and me and my wife had lots of fun with it.

    This guy likes to let everyone know how rich he is and what expensive toys he has. Napoleon syndrome x10 lol. It is very obnoxious . Sorry Gadget Guru I am not impressed or jealous .I respect people who are humble and do not make money thier God. Most people will never be able to afford such excess and coming from a person who once experienced it means nothing and does not bring happiness. I am happy you can live like a king good for you. Your in the minority and please let others speak the world will keep turning when your gone no one person is that important only in thier own mind sad but true. Class and good taste does not come with money . Some of the classiest people I have ever met were dirt poor and worked their asses off they were honest to a fault straight shooting and very inteligent the ones with money were liars two faced shallow selfish idiots who had family money and only thought of themselves and spent most of their lives trying to impress others..
