  • Michael Jackson lived a reality that very few have ever come to experience. Not many could relate to him and his world of superfame that he had inhibited since he was a child.
In this video, the King of Pop speaks candidly about the dark realities of being so recogniseable around the world and how it entrapped him in a cage that often made him feel desperately alone and isolated from those around him.

I read his book, & in his words when it even came to dating:
“Sometimes it's hard for me to look my dates in the eye even if I know them well. My dating and relationships with girls have not had the happy ending I've been looking for. Something always seems to get in the way. The things I share with millions of people aren't the sort of things you share with one. Many girls want to know what makes me tick - why I live the way I live or do the things I do - trying to get inside my head. _They want to rescue me from loneliness, but they do it in such a way that they give me the impression they want to share my loneliness, which I wouldn't wish on anybody, because I believe I'm one of the loneliest people in the world.”_

How can there be so many millions of people around the world who loved Michael, yet so few in his life who genuinely friended him. He gave so much, but because of his popularity and how people would react to him, he couldn't enjoy everyday things we take for granted. He was the victim of so many attacks against his character & integrity, however I have never seen even an instant where he didn't act with kindness, humility, and appreciation. Albeit still probably pretty rough, plus having the ability to read comments from all over the world which Michael may not deal with well. But I have hope that the development of the mental health field nowadays would’ve supported him much better, maybe someone would be more likely to recommend therapy nowadays, plus more education available online about medications so he could know what that doctor was giving him… RIP

Michael Jackson is hands down one of the strongest, most courageous people who ever lived. He suffered so horrifically and was persecuted on so many levels. I wish there were strict rules in place for the paparazzi and even the fans. I feel horrible watching this. Any time I see a celebrity, and it’s never been MJ, I pretend I have not seen them. They are human beings with the same rights as everyone else. We need laws, stringent laws. They did the same thing to Princess Diana and Britney Spears. How can anyone survive that?!? It’s enough to drive a perfectly normal person to rage, severe depression, anxiety, and deep, deep loneliness. Very wrong.

Becoming a nobody, an anonymous person, is actually a gift. I used to be known in my old town, and online. Then, certain circumstances required me to hide, become anonymous and move city. I haven't had social media in almost 10 years, and I have never felt so free. To exist amongst people, and not be recognized, to have that privacy, is truly priceless. I feel so sorry for Michael, that he never got to experience that true peace of mind. If only they could set up a life for him where he got to experience an anonymous and silent existence for a day or two a week, somewhere in the world where he isn't known. Or, give him heavy prosthetics so he could wander around town, unrecognized. The grocery store was a great idea, it could have been done more often, and perhaps pay real customers who enter to not speak to or look at him while he is there. That would have made this burden a little lighter for him maybe. The poor man never knew what it is like to be human. He was an insanely gifted man with so much trauma, but his fame was his real curse.

Then bam, you’re diagnosed with the rarest disease at the time and the world witnessing for the first time ever someone completely change their skin color. It had to be a moment of “you’ve got to be kidding me” at some point in mikes mind. I wonder how he was able to switch his mindset towards “use it as power” I hope the movie covers this extensively. He had so many deeply painful eras and had to push through. He never had a chance to just feel normal. I think that’s why his children were so important in his life. They probably gave him the normalcy he truly needed.

My MJ Encounter: On November 19, 1996, I was 16 years old, and a fan of MJ since BAD 1987. That day my brother and I decided to skip school and travel by train to Brisbane, (Australia) to see Michael arrive at his hotel, The Heritage (now known as the Stamford). MJ was in Australia as part of the world tour for HIStory. So we got on the school bus in our normal clothes, and everyone was in uniform wondering what was going on. 'We're not going to school' we said, 'we're going to see Michael Jackson!' I'm sure they were jealous! So we arrived in Brisbane after an hour plus train ride and made our way to the Heritage. Fans were already amassing outside the gates of the hotel. Mainly young women with signs, singing his songs. The tour was big news and camera crews were there (MJ had married Debbie Rowe in Sydney only days earlier, which was world-wide-news). Now this is all before the internet, so we fans had to glean from the newspaper or tv when MJ would be arriving. It was around 11 or so in the morning when he was expected to be there. He was flying up from Sydney (a storm the previous evening had led MJ to cancel his flight). Now the fans were ten or so deep against the fence, and I knew that if I stood there with everyone else, I wouldn't be able to see much. But I thought to myself: "MJ's car is going to have to come in from here, so if I actually stand back, I'll be able to run to the car before anyone else". And sure enough, I was right! I could see down the street a police escort, and a red Toyota Tarago van, which I knew MJ was in. As the car pulled up, I immediately ran to the van and started banging on the window! For before me sat Michael Jackson: Black Fedora Cap; Aviator sunglasses; a red shirt, black curly hair over his face, and a big smile on his lips. I guess he liked me making so much noise banging on the window! For me, it was like time slowed right down, and I had this moment of insight: Michael Jackson is just a human being. And he has suffered so much. I felt for him and the Chandler allegations he had gone through, and I was happy that he had been through the fire and come out the other side. And that he was smiling again! At that moment a security guard appeared and pushed me back away from the car, the gates swung open, the crowd surged, and the car went into the hotel. That night I saw myself, from various angles, on the news ; the footage of my MJ encounter preserved for all time. Two days later I saw MJ in concert: a dream come true. But as great as the concert was, I'll never forget when I was up close with MJ.I'm glad that God gave me that moment, and I'm glad that in MJ's life, which included so much pain, I brought a smile to his face.

There just isn’t anyone on the planet that will ever have the scale of fame as MJ did. He was literally the last of the great Superstars. Without a doubt the most famous person on earth. In a way it’s good no one has this today because it must be complete hell.

It was his level of celebrity. The only others that came close were Elvis or maybe the Beatles. But not really. He was revered by the entire world.

This man was a treasure who was so famous too famous for his own good he gave So many people hope. This was the biggest superstar in our lifetime. When he created his own space to be himself and invited small children with innocent views and wanted to just have them enjoy their child hood and live through them…. They called him a pervert and weird… so many people tried to get money off of him accusing him of being a pervert. In my heart I know he was a genuine man with so much love he wanted to give to the world I see the good in him. So many people who lied on him have been proven wrong time and time again… people still want to believe the worst. It’s sad. Truly sad. Let this man rest in peace!!!!!!! In heaven…

I am quite compassionate to loneliness. I’m a Virgo too and we can feel misunderstood. I feel like him feeling misunderstood made him not trust people. I heard the recordings of him and the lady that acted like his friend and I didn’t feel like he trusted her. Lastly, Michael being a humanitarian towards other countries and him having to hide in Moscow from the US government was ridiculous .

Funny seeing Michael Jackson go grocery shopping but sad that he can’t do that without being mobbed by people.

It was the price the system exacted from him, taking away his own privacy and freedom. This made him a lonely person despite being surrounded by thousands of people.

I miss him. So sad to watch this. All those things he never got to experience, random chats with strangers, having a moan with a friend at work, chilling out at the park for a picnic on a summer day, meeting up with friends and people watching over a glass of wine, browsing the markets. That must have been absolute hell for him yet he consistently focused on bringing joy. I miss you Michael 😢 you were treated terribly

I worked for 7 years to one of the best rated airlines in the world, travelling all over the world. Which I would not name, people would take pictures of me, without asking, same they did with my colleagues, inside the plane, in the airport, at the hotel lobby, people would just ask to take a photo with me or even take it without me saying yes. My hotel room was my refuge, most times I was so tired of seeing people I wouldn’t even leave the hotel , I never felt so lonely as I did when I was a flight attendant for that well known airline. And one of my colleagues actually has a photo with Michael wearing her red hat. It’s such a cool photo, but Michael always admired flight attendants so he was nice to us, although I never had the luck to have him on any of my flights. Had some celebs who were so rude, that I would delete their songs from my iPod after landing lol. You’re at peace now Michael, we are the ones we still have years to live on this nasty horrible world that changed so much since you been gone. Much love to everyone and keep in mind the children suffering during these times because of war. We can’t heal the world, it’s beyond repair. Too late now.
