OSI Model defines and is used to understand - How data is transferred from one computer to another in a computer network?
In the most basic form, two computers (end-points) connected to each other with LAN Cable (Network Media) and connectors (RJ45) sharing data with the help of NICs forms a network.
But if one computer is based on Microsoft Windows and the other one has MAC OS installed, then how these two computers are going to communicate with each other?
In order to accomplish successful communication b/w computers or networks of different architectures, 7-layered OSI Model or Open System Interconnection Model was introduced by the International Organization for Standardization in 1984.

@@prasadkandivalasa3989 you are welcome.
Thank bro
You sir are awesome
Super helpful, thanks.
21 years after graduation, my search for OSI stopped here. Thanks for such a wonderful presentation. All Engineering colleges must take this video as de facto syllabus for aspiring IT engineers.
yes i agree. because theres no understandable explanation anywhere else on the internet regarding OSI
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
Yes bro, i too agree... this is the best and ever expected video from anyone... video is very clear and this deserves lot many shares...
@Nobody Knows ayy same. What do u wanna do in the future? I wanna do software engineering but IT is very interesting as well.
@Nobody KnowsWell at first I was thinking to go the traditional route of developing web apps in the back-end using node js or any other language. But now I"m thinking of of working at a company like two-sigma and working on developing fintech software.
I've been teaching network technology for 20 years. I've never seen such correct, thorough and easy-to understand presentation of the OSI model. I'm speachless.....
This video will be part of my curriculum for ever!
Glad it was helpful!
Right sir!!!!

Grt sir!
Massive respect to the people who made this video. Reading Networking articles is not enough. We still need this kind of Animated Videos. Thank you very much.
I am a trainer, neither have I nor I have come across any one who has done a wonderful job explaining OSI Model so far; as you have done it. Bravo! I cant stop appreciating the content you have created.
oh my god you have to teach in our university because our lecturer wasted 3 weeks of my life to teach us this 16 minutes video!!! you're so good man thanks a lot.
me too
Yesss
Loooool
same thing
you can understand this 16 minutes video because you already have the idea, that taught by your lecturer. smh
Its crazy how you managed to transform such a dry topic into something even a non-tech person can understand. Thanks for the hard work!
Bhai kasam se bohot helpful tha.. You managed to explain ISO/OSI model to a mechanical engineer in 16 mins and 41 seconds successfully!
Bravo Zulu !
Till today during my job training session, since 7 years of academic in touch with networking concepts.. honestly.. NOBODY explained to me these clear-cut ideas.. Hats off you to man!!
This is how all educational videos should be, precise, juicy, no non-sense, illustrative and all focused on understanding the concept. Thank you.
Beautiful explaining
That video is the best video ever on that topic PERIOD!.
The presenter went beyond the call of duty, clearing all possible confusion like the famous about the Application layer and what resides on it.
I highly recommend that video. That is the one-stop to nail the OSI Model.
Congratulations on that excellent work and please keep up!!
I will recommend, like, share and subscribe to the Channel.

which video this or that? what you mean? i like this video
@fila wila apu
Agree
You are correct man
I feel embarrassed that I never grasped the OSI model and all its characteristics (for the past 20yrs since being in IT) to the extent that you have so impressively and insanely 'penny dropping' managed to convey it in this Video. OMG, thank you thank you thank you for doing this video!!

Hands Down, The Best OSI Model Tutorial on the Planet Earth.
first saw this vid at 2020 when I was job hunting during the pandemic which helped me land the Job at the time. That is why this will always be my favorite OSI model tutorial vid especially if I want a refresher on network concepts in each layer.
first time in life understand full OSI MODEL.
Can’t believe someone just explained OSI model in 16 minutes so effectively. Great work. My test book got 32 pages notes on it and didn’t understand a bit of it. This is so perfect. Thank you.
Right bro
All my doubt's are clear and they way you explain man the level of research that you have done while making this video is insane no one can explain these things in these layman terms so you deserve alots more views of this video❤️❤️❤️
This guy really understands the OSI Model..Wow! I can't ask for more. I just can't stop repeating it. I love it. Very detailed and short. Anything on routing protocols please? I can't wait. Educate us.
I was researching to understand OSI model for many days and lost my focus many times. But you made it crystal clear in less than 17 minutes. Amazing. A lot of thanks.
i learned osi from numerous places, youtube, cyber courses, university network course, and neither of them managed to simplify the explanation as you did , with all your examples and explanations in the video, kudos to you, gonna share that with any1 , subscribe and liked, keep up the good work, you are amazing!
Hatsoff MAN , a big salute from my heart, I was 2 time failed in network paper and today I attended exam by answering all questions, and bombarded 10 mark osi model explanation questions ❤❤
it takes effort to make such videos, thanks alot ,everyone will be happy with ur efforts
Thanks Shubham. It feels great when someone motivates to continue the work we love to do.
thanks for the video, it's helping a lot with my course!

The best video on internet on OSI model!
Crystal clear, engaging, keeps the viewer engaged without getting bored.
Thanks a ton for saving our lives by making these kind of amazing videos. God bless you!
I have a networking olympiad in a month and i thought id brush up on the less than easy to understand OSI model and goddamn i didnt expect such a quality video on it. Youve outdone all of my professors and other mediums of information ive been in.
Never understood the basics this much easier. Though I'm CCNA certified sometime back, never understood the concepts this much easier ever. Thank you
16 minutes video > 150 minutes wasted without understanding "what the hell" my lecturer in college talks about
just had the same today, he drifted off every couple of minutes and got into extremely specific topics that no one without previous knowledge could understand
I thought it was just me! Why am I paying this professor all of this money, just for this video to make way more sense in 16 minutes...FOR FREE ??
aye, just watched some other vid about this for 7 minutes and while it's great as a refresher, not to me, someone trying to understand all of it.
Same bro started feeling like a fool.
I really can't thank you enough for putting together such a short, straight-to-the-point, and powerful explanation. This video just made me understand everything I couldn't understand in varsity in just 15 minutes. Woow.
super man super i am watching it in 2024 and i have never seen such amazing method of teaching
this video has completed central idea of data communication 90% of B.tech. Course . thanks So much
This is the best explanation of the OSI model I have seen by far. This model is in our syllabus from 12th standard but till now I was unable to truly grasp the complete idea. This video just made concepts 100x clearer. Thank you for making this video
Echo that!!! Just fantastic explainations.
Thank you for this! I particularly liked the analogy about how the session layer is like the "people that clean up after the party". That helps me make a lot more sense out of things!
This was incredibly clear. For the first time, I have no remaining questions about OSI. Thank you!
i think the indian has the best presentation in how to teach people about networking. this is much much more easy to understand with a lot of examples. thank so much whoever did this.
The only video where I feel like actually understanding everything, great help in my studies. Bless you!
The goat video of OSI Model Explained 🐐💌
You've managed to make something that is very difficult to learn much easier and I can not thank you enough for this. :)
Well done dude, this is one of the best explanations of the OSI model that someone who hates learning about OSI found easy to follow just like this long sentence. Truly impressive.
ONE OF THE BEST LECTURES EVER MADE IN OSI MODEL !!!!
This is the best video that I have come across on CZcams! Seriously, you did a fabulous job of keeping it simple but also covering everything that is needed to know.
This guy needs more likes.
I can imagine work he put in this video.
This is easily one of the best, clearest, most professional and pleasant to watch guides I've seen on a technical topic. Whoever's doing the graphical effects is adding so much entertainment and style in a way that isn't distracting. Thanks so much for making this.
This was an AMAZING breakdown, no one else has broke it down this way so far 👏🏼👏🏼
The best OSI MODEL explanation ever
im currently having trouble in my cyber domain class but this video is so easy to understand compared to the chapters and videos that my professor gives me. I'm a visual learner and this video is a god send!
I watched this video regularly till I literally memorized this whole scenario. I was new to networking and I think those who are new to networking, if thoroughly go through this tutorial they will be able to have an ease in learning the further concepts of networking, also will be able to defend basic questions about networking in any networking related interview or something(with only this 16 minute video)
I find it helpful as well.
I am just starting out in networking, my brain cells are exploding all over the place.
@@angelicaarevalo5933 It happens every time, the more you start learning about something, the more it feels that you know very less about it :D

@@angelicaarevalo5933 How's the networking going as of now ? I mean after an year
Even I am changing career from working in Manufacturing for 7 years to IT now
As always, 15min videos from youtube always explains a concept much better than 60 hours of lectures in a university lmao
I've seen several other videos but yours explained it clearly with examples. Much appreciated. I'm just getting into the IT field as well
This is the first video I found which explains end to end flow clearly and all concepts in a single video. Thanks a lot! Really appreciate your teaching skills.
One of the most concise and clear videos on youtube about OSI Model! Made it so much easier to grasp by showing how it is really applied in the real world! Thank you!
I don't usually comment on videos like this, however I'm going to make a massive exception in this case.
Made over 4 years ago, this video is still relevant, informative and very simple to understand. I'm currently writing a report for my uni assignment and this has by far been the most useful source of usable information I have found. Absolutely impressed with the delivery of information in this video. Not only was I able to write my assignment with ease, but I've also been able to learn a lot, and more importantly understand the way data transfers from one computer to another, in extensive and simple detail. Thank you!
I think this is the best explanation possible with enough details to actually understand what's going on. Thanks.
I have watched a lot of videos on reference model and internet functioning but not got the desired content. This video is something that tells all required stuff in a very easy , understandable and lovely way. You made me cover my whole book just before exam. Thanks and keep spreading knowledge.
Thanks Prajjwal Gavander
A very good explanation.
PS. at minute 10:33 I think there is a mistake
(netmask is 255.255.255.0)
I noticed that too. Excellent presentation: I giggled that the presenter got such a basic thing wrong. Clearly the rest of the video is so good I have to assume it's a simple transcription error rather than them not understanding binary!
The presenter realized that and informs us but you have to switch on subtitles to see message
omg no one is better explaining the OSi model than you. You are brilliant. Im now your no 1 fan
As a Beginner I am Very happy to How easily i understand everything
I loved this video. Recently taking a course on CCNA and you have done an excellent job in explaining the OSI model. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate the effort. :)
The explanation here was much more fluid and colorful the what my textbook had provided. Thank you for this.
Finally understood OSI. Seen so many videos but it remained unclear to me till I saw this videos. Thank you so much for such wonderful explanation in simple words.
Thank you so much. This is the way an explanation should be given - very lucid, practical, understandable, crystal clear! I had never seen any other video explaining the OSI model so clearly.
Wow!! THANK YOU!!! I've spent the last 2 days going through every video I could find on the internet about OSI model and NO ONE could communicate it effectively let alone in such a clear and concise way. What took others an hour or more to fail at you were able to distill into 16 minutes successfully. Thank you!!
Thank you John.
Thanks a lot!! I was so confused by what the the professor said during the lecture... this makes a lot of sense!!
Your last line offended me. You asked me if I learnt something from this but, I learnt everything from this presentation. My search for understanding OSI model ends here after 14 years. Thank you!
Thank you so much sir. It is the start of my journey in ethical hacking and I'm learning networking. I had a pretty basic idea about the OSI model, but there were many unclear doubts. This video is a pure gem and cleared all my doubts. Thank you so much sir 🙏
Omg! This is just amazing😍😍😍 we all need these types of videos to understand the things..All confusions has gone and we have clearly understood whole concept without wasting time like in other videos or in university lectures.Thank you so much! Keep sharing such videosssss!!!!
By far the BEST explanation video EVER ! Thank you for putting in so much effort and clearing so many topics in just 16 minutes.
yeah true....
The best OSI model video so far. Also the only one I've seen that had the sense to talk about the model from the 7th layer down. Every other video insisted on starting from the 1st layer, which would force them to talk about how data from a higher layer is handled, before actually talking about that higher layer. Your way is far more understandable.
my semester is going to end soon with last teaching day to be 2nd nov. and i hadn't understand a single thing in networking. u just did that job in 16:41 minutes. U have the blessings and good wishes of us.
OMG!! Thank you so much for your dedication and attention in producing this video! I totally understand the OSI model so much better now. Thank you! Thank you! Thank You!
I love the video, contents are correct AND Well presented.. Easy to understand rather than reading the books and trying to imagine it all. For improvement, i suggest that the narrator to speak a little bit slowly in speed since the Indian-English accent takes a little time to process especially for Asian. All in all, thank you very much for being generous sharing the knowledge. May Allah bless you always n :)
Thank you Umira. I will speak slowly in my upcoming videos. Such comments always keep me motivated to continue with my work.
where r u from

Umm, Indians are Asians too! 😂
I was watching it on 1.5x 😅 to save time 16min vid -> 10min vid 😆
The current generation is quite lucky to have such content. In my university days, we barely had dial ups and we used to be served dry content through books written in not so descriptive manner.

if you still do not understand OSI model and TCP/IP model after watching this video, forget it. This is the best explanation you will get in the world. Its like he is the one who developed the conceptual framework back in 1980. I also realised its a bad idea to try learn OSI model if you dont fully understand how the switch and router work.
Glad you liked it!
