- My favourite time to target steelhead is during the fall when they're coming into the rivers actively feeding. The fight they have is insane with the acrobatic jumps and fast runs. I caught a few this day and here are some of the highlights. Enjoy!
GEAR USED
Rod: Raven RPX 13'6 Float Rod
Reel: Islander Steelheader Centerpin
Main Line: 12lb Andes Mono

I've been steelhead fishing for over 30 years ,just wanted to let you know How nice it is to see how you handle fish properly'....well done👍Not many steelhead anglers know how to handle fish the right way
Rick Fascinato thanks man 👍. It’s so much easier to do if everyone used a net.
Rick Fascinato I know I handle fish properly now after watching this fine gentlemen
SMH...LMFAO always a clown who thinks theres a right way and a wrong way. Meanwhile your torturing a fish with a hook in its mouth. You want to be politically correct don't fish and let the fish migrate, spawn and do there thing. Stop fishing unless you fish to eat them.
As a fellow fisher of the Lake Ontario tributaries I am happy to see such a great video like this
👊👍
Wow,that’s a amazing fishing spot,beautiful steelheads!
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome fish. Great video!
Kickin Bass thanks 👍
Good job bro!!! That's beauty!!
Crazy Steelheader thanks man 👊👍
Man, that water colour looked perfect for fishing, just enough stain to make it fishable. Love it. Nice chromers pal, giants. Sounded like your Islander could use a bit of oil though, that first fish sounded like birds chirping while reeling in. 😂. Well done Pump, left a 👍for ya.
True North Angler for some reason I didn’t notice it until I watched this footage. A quick dip in the water and the chirping disappeared
Beautiful steelhead!
Kevin You thanks man 👊👍
Nice centerpin 👍 and nice catch 👍
J-son Special thanks! The pink handles make the islander pop
Nice fish - that last one was a tank!
Actually Andrew Fishing pretty crazy... I wasn’t expecting that at all
Broooo those are a super cool Chromers yo 👌👍🎣🐟
Never had the chance to float fish for steelies! Maybe one day🤙🏼 great stuff
TheFishinMagician2.0 go for it! You won’t be disappointed
Going to 40 mile creek today man hope to see you there
Tank of a fish man
saw42581 strong fish 💪
Love the handles
Reel
I see too many gold Islanders so I wanted to be different and added pink handles. I should’ve added some oil on them too
Used to be my go-to color and it always produce.
Been a decent fallNice fish
TJ Adams Thanks. I just wish we had more time to fish
are there fall steelhead in every lake ontario trib? I've only caught them in the spring at my local river
The Short Fisherman most of them should. Just make sure you check the fishing regulations because most upper parts of the rivers are closed now for the season
NICE FISHES bro! Last ones a tank! that RPX looks pretty bent, how you like it so far?
Subbed and liked bro!👍🏽
Last Cast Production I love it. It’s a light rod with lots of backbone. Maybe it’s too strong to where I fish but I prefer horsing my fish in right away
where is this spot close too?
You think Duffins under the hwy 2 bridge is frozen rn? Is there steelies in there rn?
How do you like thr Rpx i'm thinking about getting it. Is it light kinda rod ?
Vanouhi it feels lighter then the raven rv9 with more backbone
I normally bottom bounce with egg sucking leeches , what do you use when you float ?
Young Jeezy I use roe bags, beads, pink worms and flies. I bring a hip pack with me and store a bunch of baits to see what the fish want that day
Any reason why you parted away from the islander?
Where is this? The grand river?
I think you need add some lube to the knob , but hot pink really fits you lol
West this west Toronto or out East
Antonio Stojanovic east
That can't be duffins I was there
It's to muddy for Oshawa creek
Looks like duffs to me
Adam Rice you think duffs if frozen?
