Correct. Also, Roger played rythm guitar for this live. Snowy White played bass, Gilmour played guitar. But yeah, in studio this is David Gilmour. Roger waters isn't exactly a good guitarst...or bassist. lol
@@billfraser1491 writing the lyrics and concepts of the albums, which he was very good at, however idk why he stopped playing bass more, he did play it on the live tours.
The octaves through E minor scale starting at 10:13 just help elevate the guitar solo outro. I always dreamed of doing this live and jamming out the outro as well as the middle talk box section
i tried to learn this cus i figured it sounded easy cus i thought Roger was playing it, but i saw that Gilmour wrote the bass. Gilmour's instrument writing is very excellent during Dark Side and Animals Era so that means i still can't get it but you make it look so effortlessly.
Great Job. I'm playing this with a big orchestral show in Australia atm. I love that you nailed the pre-chorus variations in the line; and I hadn't picked up that the octave walking at the end isn't played with octaves each time. Nicely done Jason...

I’m having a hard time trying to explain lol,. Guess I’m asking are you using any kind of effects,. I so love this
I'm in the process of converting a bass to fretless. This will be on my list of songs to learn. (Although this video illustrates that you don't need a fretless to play this song, well done! )
I love this! It's perfect. Can you please make a Playlist of all of your Pink Floyd videos as you did for other artists like Metallica? That was very helpful. Thanks in advance-- subscribed!
I learned contrabass growing up (HS in the 70's) and playing in orchestras is HS. Fretless bass guitar came easier for me. And I knew when I first heard this piece it was a fretless and I wanted to learn it. Bought the album and knew right away - the bassist on this song was David Gilmore (The credits point to him as the player of a fretless bass). I assume Waters was not as yet proficient on a fretless bass.
i think that little block above the e string is supposed to go on the bottom where the two holes are on the pick guard. looks like someone changed it for a lefty if im not mistaken
Yes he played on wots the deal track and bass on Syd barretts solo albums.on this I think on intro you are throwing extra notes in on intro bass solo and possible verse 1 although I need to dbl check .
All the tabs say this in standard tuning and I know I'm tuned up but it still sounds off. Wasn't a fretless used in the recording? Any help would be appreciated.

I can play this song but can't play the ending. I can't nail the quick succession of root note, octave, root note, octave up and down the neck at the necessary speed. So I have to cheat a bit and play 2x root notes instead.
People's comments on Roger Waters not being a good basist are ridiculous (I know this is Gilmour). Actually it's beyond ridiculous..it shows ignorance.

Best bassline ever
YES
GOLD
Water just should have let Gilmour write all the basslines
All time favorite. The blend with the solo is just out of this world, coordinates to alien civilizations
this is what i came looking for
Dave went hard on the solo and bassline
i always wondered why the bassline sounded so good… had no idea it was Gilmour but it kinda makes more sense

David played bass on most of the albums, mostly after dark side of the moon or wish you were here.

Amazing!
This song has an addictive bass
I’ve never had a double ad in the middle of a song until now

Came to this after listening to the 2018 remixes. Always loved the base but the remix is way more pronounced. Made me fall in love all over again
It really gave a new vision to the bass line, the mix was wonderful
The love and time you put into that song is almost as beautiful as you perform it.
Me: I've always wanted to learn this, doesn't sound too hard

Can't get enough of that walking bass lines at the outtro
what a perfect bass line, a unique interpretation, congratulations on the excellent work
