One thing I like about Emily Is Way before she joins the FBI She was a CIA undercover Agent and she was train to kill with no question. So in all the BAU team she is the most dangerous of them all. She will not hesitate to take someone down if the chips are down.

Hotch appointed Prentiss to be the new unit chief in “Elliot’s Pond”, because he trusts Emily and she knows how to keep a secret, she also kept close tabs on Hotch and she called him to make sure he stayed safe from Peter Lewis.
