I find it a little jarring, but if it becomes a common thing then sure, it works.

As someone who wanted to make a Fish deck, now I understand why Blaster was banned.
amazing how many of this cards can be fixed with hard once per turn and you cant use this card for link summons
It almost like Link summons broke an already broken game. It's still hilarious multiple tuners and token generators "have" to be banned or limited in order to enable "certain" Link monsters.
@@lynxfresh5214 yeah I never thought they were that bad because I hadn't really played heavily with them. Then master duel came out and now I'm not sure I even like the game anymore.

Honestly, "you can only use a specific card once per turn period" should just be one of the rules of the game, since it's been a recurring issue for the whole damn life of the game.

I remember when Mind Master came out. It was came out really early when they just released psychic type monster
And even with how few and mediocre 1st wave psychic monsters is, Mind Master is still a problem card back then
Honestly for Imperial Order I would change it's effect to either:
- Only spell cards that target this card can be activated, so that it can still be taken out by the spell cards, or
- Both players can only activate one spell card per turn, to achieve the same effect but give a little more leeway if they don't have the negate in hand right away
That's a cool effect, though on its own it would kill the card, like TDL's nerf. If you added "(even if this card left the field this turn)" it would be perfect.
Alternatively, I would increase the LP cost to 2500 LP.
Honestly I'd make it unable to be activated unless it's going to be destroyed by a spell card making it much easier to play around
@@ericlizama8552 the more lp you have to pay the better io gets, as it means the player who activated it will be able to use their spells again faster with a larger maintenance cost by getting their own lp down to kill io for their turn
i think there is a better way tho, if they released a ton of new monster hand trap that destroys a face up spell/trap card on the field then the problem is solved since they gave a new type of out against the card. since the problem is that most ways to destroy back rows are spell cards, it has a downside of making spell/trap heavy tier 2 decks lose even more tho.
Was a nice trip through the ban list...
Fun trivia: one of the first restriction lists of YuGiOh had, talking you at the time where Pharaoh's Servant, the booster pack that has Thousand Eyes Restrict in the cover was brand new or about to be released, that you can have one Pot of Greed and two Graceful Charity.
Congratulations on this two year journey finally coming to an end. Excellent video as always. Though, correct me if I'm wrong, you never covered Zoodiac Barrage. It was the only change to the forbidden list in October 2021, and I don't recall it being in any of the 'Banned Cards' videos.
Keep up the videos bro love your content!!
Imperial order could be changed to "if a spell card is activated, pay X lifepoints (no choice) and negate the activation. And at the end of each turn, take x dmg."
That way, while it would be resourve intensive for the enemy, you are on a timer. And if they are spell heavy, they could force the floodgate to break. Not to mention they can force you to low lifepoints.
So imperial order has a sort of Maxx C risk attached to it.
That the opponent can try use it against you by forcing you to, draw your deck (in maxx c case), or burn you to 0 LP through your own card.
Not sure if thats a good idea though.
Considering how Maxx C is so game defining that its banned.
That would only work in a vacuum, but in reality IO was so toxic because it's backed by omni negates and IO is still a self-protecting floodgate. Also you would only need IO to stick for a turn anyway so you could secure your board and attack for game. Same goes with maxx c, you can't really deck them out anymore without eating 5 handtraps first or getting droplet'd for 6 next turn, and having maxx c + end board going first is just too oppressive for going second players
Imperial Order is too good not even a nerf can nerf it
Sounds a Royal Opression effect: pay 700 lifepoints to negate a spellcard and both players can used this negation of imperial order just like royal oppession.
@@natanpocket6860 if you establish a board most of the times you won't need spells anymore so it's still one sided in practice
@@natanpocket6860 without a once per duel clause. The best option that I can tink to fix IO is by making it a single target once per turn.
Something like a worse version of de-spell.
I am always kind of sad that almost all those cards in these lists are not banned in Master Duel / OCG
Mood
I'm not, different formats make a game more refreshing to play plus TCG players and OCG players have different mentalities (On top of being facetious to each other).
That said the MD banlist is trash for a BO1 format, the fact you need to actively remove cards from your extra deck (or play Monarchs/True Draco) to avoid a D.D FTK and get an auto win is just hilariously bad game design.
@@lynxfresh5214 the thing is, the d.d dynamite thing isn't even that good, half ofthe time they just surrender if you go first or if they don't open good. its just annoying to play against, in bo1
I was playing bird up before the simorgh ban, and I almost always properly link summon simorgh. Typically it was ferrijit plus a bird. Preferably nerval
Which is the long way of saying I think it would have to catch an errata to remove the targeting protection or just let it protect simorghs
If Yugioh wants to keep doing this they could just add "Skip your draw phase" as part of maintenance cost in exchange for a powerful effect.
I don't think it would matter anyway cuz combo decks don't really need the draw phase unless they get their combo stopped midways. A good way to limit the older banned cards is putting a hard OPT restriction to them, as that way they keep their powerful effects without the absurd combo potential.
Or in Eva's case, just banning it lol. No one likes playing against Drytron Heralds anyway
"You can't draw cards for the rest of the Duel"
Love to see TheDuelLogs talk about meta archetype.
For Eva I think the best way to change it would simply make it a +1 instead so it can still be played by other fairy decks while drytons, even when you have the out, don’t get a orange light negate in hand. You could also set a limitation where it needs 2 or 3 fairies in the GY to activate its effect. Making it have to leave the field changes the card’s purpose too much I think
The intro: *adios*
Protos could probably be fixed by giving its floodgate an errata that requires it to be face-up on the field and not having its effect negated to be in effect.
0:51 Coalecanth was unknown to me. Good
Good job!
Protoss' floodgate could end after the opponent's battle phase, that could be a reasonable compromise.
That would be a good idea for Imperial Order too.
It'll be exciting to see if there's just one long supercut video encompassing all of these into one long video. Be a nice thing to have in the background I suppose.
The arguably best way to fix imperial order is to just delay the effect and restrict when it can be used. Make it a "can only be used during the main phase" deal then make it so the effect only starts to take place during the next turn, giving your opponent a full turn to get rid of it either face down or shortly after you activate it. It would probably mean anyone looking to resolve it now needs to have some back row protection of sort to avoid having it nuked, but it means there's a way to play around it without being stuck instantly in a unwinnable scenario.
When future fusion pre-nerf existed, it was banned due to how it was free graveyard setup in a similar fashion to painful choice, and they fixed it by delaying it's effect so the opponent can just nuke it before it resolves. That approach could easily fix imperial order while the "main phase only" is to prevent a " pop it during a end phase to have the effect active right away asap".
Imagine thinking a semi-generic link 3 summoning a floodgate from the deck and making it untargetable is only a problem because of tri brigade
Tri brigade is the only way of summoning it in a good deck, and good things are only ban worthy if they are done in good decks
Look, I'm as mad as you are about my friend that plays blackwing summoning that thing...
...But let's be honest, blackwings can't leave a pefect field with a huge amount of interruptions AND end up on a floodgate/extra negate.
It had been in the game for years, though.
Imagine thinking a card that did nothing for almost 3 years is the problem when Tribrigade was already tier 1 ever since release and keeps appearing in the meta with different flavors (Zoo, DPE, Lyrilusc, Branded)
As someone who runs a Simorgh deck it bites to hear it was banned in TCG because of tribrigades
it happens. Just look at Synchron players

One thing I think they could probably do for IO is give it an effect where "If this card is targeted by a card effect, destroy this card." Even if cards like Twin Twister or MST gets negated, it getting targetted would still destroy it.
I’ve been waiting for this
Fishborg Blaster was sweet in frog monarchs, synchro summoning level 8’s for days
Congrats on getting through all of them 🎉
It’s so odd to hear you talk about banned cards from recent banlists since you’ve gone over so many old cards haha
Please do these again when we have more cards banned. Maybe even do a series like this for the limited list?
The thing about simorgh is that even if they give it the avremax restriction tri brigade can still summon it too easily. Fraktall effect drop nerval search Kitt summon kit active kit Harpie conductor link kit Harpie conductor into simorgh just as an example. That's a 1 card combo that gets you simorgh plus whatever simorgh is taking out of the deck, plus battle destruction protection tri brigade spell to stop your linked winged beast from being destroyed by battle which is important for barrier statue to keep it from being killed by your opponents normal summon. Still too strong
Harpie Conductor needs 2 wind monsters.
That being said, Harpie Tri could still get Simorgh out ridiculously easily with any Harpie starting combos. I assume Lyrulisc could, too.
Harpie conductor is a winged beast thus can be summoned with any tri brigade effect, then you link Harpie conductor plus Kitt into simorgh because simorgh just requires 2 monsters with one of them (Harpie conductor) being winged beast
So now its time for the 13 hour video on all banned cards
As for Imperial Order, even some decks that used spells were using it. By just using up all your own spells and then setting it, you can stop your opponent from doing the same thing. Like, why should you care you can’t use your spells to set up anymore when you’re already setup? Though of course it was only for decks that just mostly used them for searching or summoning from grave and didn’t heavily rely on them like with Sky Striker.
I play Simorgh Lyrillusc in Master Duel, so having Big Bird back in the TCG would be a dream come true for me.
Dang getting right into nice
Top 10 Transmodify targets? I think that card has untapped potential and could possibly let decks that special summon other copies of cards go into crazy synchro/xyz plays. I'm interested to hear what you think!
This came out with time to spare before he has to do another video lol. I'm sure we'll be seeing another one real soon, especially since there's real life sanctioned Yugioh coming back
The LP cost on Imperial Order is a good idea. There are effects that halve or subtract life points by a certain amount as opposed to physically reducing them. If the effect to pay life points was worded a little differently like it is in those cards then that might actually be a pretty fair fix.
Halving wouldn't work, because that would technically be a buff to Imperial Order in that it'd allow you to keep it infinitely on your side of the field as long as you could prevent your opponent from doing any damage to you. The easiest way to "fix" it would be increasing the maintenance cost to 2000 or more, but assuming they don't want to change the 700 LP cost I personally think making it so that it deducts life points per negate (similarly to how Royal Oppression works, but non-optional), alongside the cost each standby phase, would make it unbannable.
@@Zzyzix you know what I mean though, right? Im going for wording "lp subtraction" in a different way. If it was worded in a different way, it wouldn't work with the noted strats. Something along the lines of, "every standby phase, your lp becomes 7000 less than what it is now."
@@SquashMVP you sound kinda confused, because your wording changes absolutely 0 about imperial order, or what "strat" is supposed to change with that.
The main problem with Imperial Order is that it is usually chained to a spell for a free negate that also locks spells for the rest of the turn.
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 I mean logs noted some stuff in reference to the lp cost. You can watch the video up above me for that info. Also, thanks for repeating the info on this video? Idk if you're being logical or just talking down to me for the sake of it. Whatevs. Tbr you don't even have to chain it to gain advantage. Most of the easy access draw/searchers/removal come in the form of spells. Auto win against pend. Auto win against Rituals. With a hefty, hefty cost on imperial order, (for this example it is: decrease lp by 7000 every standby phase, reaching 0 is possible) all's you need to defeat that deck is 1k burn damage from either a trap or monster effect or just survive your opponents 2nd turn if they don't remove the card.
Great series ! Need one for limited and semi limited please
Ah, seeing so many cards I've come to hate in Master duel getting banned in the actual card game just reaffirms my choice to stop playing until they come out with an updated ban list for MD. Great video
I mean, omni-negation cards will not be banned, ever.
But I love how these, which only some don't allow you to play (clearly not a factor for banning in the TCG), are a problem but not quite literally not allowing the opponent to play.
I played MD for the first month. And I hated it. I just remember that they had to ban eldritch due to duel links players
Maybe in 5 years time it will be updated with current cards. It's literally text being programmed in and they can do it as soon as the cards are announced. Shocking stuff from Konami.
I mean even when these cards get banned, it's not like they'll stop printing broken cards. Have fun when DPE gets in the game.
@@fukou_da Absolutely, and the fanbase will eat it up. No backbone at all. Throw their money at Konami and Konami are sitting there laughing at them. Absolute mugs game. They've shown they don't care about the game and have made no attempt to balance it. Print busted cards, ban busted cards after everyone has bought them, print even more busted cards.
Look guys we banned the busted cards, we're listening wink wink.
Great video! Simorgh could actually make Harpie decks playable in a rogue/tier 2 scenario. I really hope it's unbanned at some point.
So haven't watched the video yet but I've already seen the description saying your done with this series overall. I figure you may have answered some of the questions I have overall at the end but no harm in asking, right? Just kind of curious to ask these since I've watched this series from begining to end when it first came out
question 1: what card was the hardest for you to research in why it was banned, if it could be unbanned and what could be done to fix it?
question 2: what was the easiest card for you to research why it was banned, if it could be unbanned and how to fix it?
question 3: what's your opinion on the series overall, now that it's finally done? I don't think you're revisiting this series when just a regular video on a new banlist would do.
question 4: since this project is now over, what will you be doing for videos now, that the work for this is all done and up on the internet.
question 5: what would you differently if you were given a chance to redo this series in full? Things you'd improve, what would you tweak in a later version.
question 6: what parts of this series overall do you think satisfy you? Basically things you wouldn't change if you could redo this series over all
question 7: final one, what's your next video after this, feel free to skip this one, I'm just curious if anything.

*PTSD from Master Duel activates*
For imperial order they could errata it with a summon limiter effect were you can only use 2 spell effects per turn giving opportunity to an out
An alternative change for Imperial order could be a cost of half your life points, it would still maintain its original purpose, but you would essentially be made of glass to any battle or burn focused deck, making it high risk to activate.
I play Imperial Order in True Draco on Master Duel. It really is great value, even if you do use your own Spell Cards - you simply tribute the Imperial Order for a True Draco summon when you need your Spells.
Would like to see the limited cards covered next
I have absolutely no knowledge of YuGiOh (more of a BuddyFight player myself) but I'm watching because my friend is really into it and I wanna be able to talk about it with him
Watching these banned combos clueless but very fascinated
I'm so happy to see Archnemeses Protos there
This series inspired me to make a banlist binder, i now have every banned card in current yugioh lol
Ah yes, my favorite main deck monster, Simorgh, Bird of Sovereignty
You should do a series if you haven't already on cards that could be banned in the future and explain why you think they could
A good idea you could do is top 10 worst spell counter cards or top 10 equip spells
Love how you pronounced Coelacanth correctly without skipping a beat
A thought: What if at opponent's end phase they could pay same LP amount to destroy it?
For Imperial Order, I could see banishing a spell card from you hand to activate it would reign it in. Maybe also require it to be activated during your turn too.
@@alexanderrobins7497 adding some actual restrictions makes more sense for this card. But the banishing seems like a good idea too. Specially for those decks without magic cards he mentioned in the video.
Other option I see is giving it a once per turn single target. Aka. Make it a worse version of de-spell or mst.
After that. The other option is giving it a convoluted activation requirement. Make it a gamble effect (like chaos Neos. With it's 3 coin toss).
Worst case scenario? scrap all that we mentioned already. Make it a single use card with a once per duel effect and limited to 1 copy.
I would make it so you could only activate it at the start of your turn so your opponent can destroy it during their turn while it's face down and you can't use spells yourself before activating it.
Also increase the LP cost to 1400 and make you take 1400 damage when the card is destroyed, so if your opponent can stall you long enough and you can't close out the game the card will kill you.
Even with the LP cost not being optional it's bullshit that if you can't pay the cost on your turn the card will just remove itself and you can play spells again.
Maybe you could add a clause to imperial order that says "Negates the effects of spell cards, unless they would remove this card from the field" so that it's not protected against it's outs?
Still not fun to play against but at least you can remove it.
I can't believe I've been going up against banned cards this whole time
In master duel. For the simorgh monster, there is a mist valley monster that has an effect when it's returned back to the hand you can special summon it to your field (not once per turn). With lyrilusc tri- brigade , you can summon union carrier after summoning the simorgh , equip this mist valley monster and with the lvl 7 monster you can return it back then special summoning itself back on the field creating infinite loop of negating.
Union Carrier is a broken card on it's own, it was banned already for a good reason and that lock with Simorgh wasn't even the most disgusting thing it could do
lol did your editors forget to include the introduction in this video? TIME FOR THE WHIP
Imagine if Drytron still had Eva that would just be stupid.
It's still stupid, they just lost an extra card for their turn 3. They can still make a full combo of Herald + Mu Beta Fafnir + Apollousa + IP Masquerena
The only thing Eva being banned did is making them autolose to Dark Ruler No More, banning Benten would have been a better hit
Another video idea would be explaining all limited cards such as why *insert card here* is limited whether it can be unlimited and how to fix it should it be unlimited
man i should’ve been running 3 simorgh in the main deck before he got banned
Protos can actually be reliably summoned in Unchained because of the two twins who are fire and water respectively. Fun jank in Master Duel
Its not about reliably summoning it, it's the fact the deck could reliably search it as well
@@underkitten i realize that It is an insane issue and a justifiable ban. Just saying if anyone sees that it is unbanned in MD because Swordsoul isn't fully out yet in that game. So if a more TCG focused list ever releases it's better to mess with it while you still can
@@underkitten any deck that can main deck all the nemesis cards can search it easily, aka stuff like weather painters, s force, ritual beasts etc, or any deck that banishes a lot of stuff like skull servants,
I used Eva in a Herald of Perfection deck. It was very helpful, but limiting Benten to 1 is what really hurt the deck.
Will you cover gandora x? It feels like a card that doesnt seem ban worthy at face value but maybe im wrong. Personally i want it back so i can play gandora with the ability to use gigarays effect with 3 names
I think the best way to fix Imperial Order is to apply the effect during the turn player it is activated while having the choice of maintaining the card. That way, the opponent still has the right to activate spell cards either during their turn or our turn.
I’d make Imperial Order either: only negate the first spell used during a turn or do as you said, where it negates the person whose turn it is’s spell cards
You can also perform an Exodia FTK by having Brain Research Lab, Mind Master, and 3 copies of Caam the Serenity of Gusto and making them do an infinite draw.
I think a good errata to Imperial Order would be the restriction that while you control it you also can’t activate or control trap cards. Decks like Dragon Link did fine with a restriction like this when Sekka’s Light was at 3. It was the only spell played in the deck and the deck focused on building a strong monster focused end board.
that would defo be interesting since it weakens stun decks using other floodgate traps like skill drain and summon limit, although personally I would have prefered if it worked like Magician's Right Hand, which only negates the first activated spell on the turn
I have literally never heard of seaborg blaster but after seeing its effect all i thought was "librarian"
A way to fix Imperial Order might be to limit it to Normal, Equip, and Continuous Spell Cards. Obviously leaving it vulnerable to the huge amount of quick play spell/ trap removal. Still a nasty floodgate, but it can be outted rather easily.
Please do Top 10 cards with the wording "you can use the effect of this card once per turn" meaning you can use the effect again if you have another copy of it !
can you please do a video about the karakuri archetype ❤️
Can you do a video like this but with the master duel ban list?
As for imperial order, how about making it only negate the first spell card activated each turn instead of every spell card while also increasing the lp cost? That way it would more be a "tax" to spell heavy decks that has actual counterplay than a full lockdown.
Also maybe make it so it can only be activated during the standby phase so it can't just be chained to spell cards, an ability which currently makes it like a buffed up Solemn Judgement for spells.
So the final version would be like this:
"can only be activated at the beginning of a standby phase. The first time a player activates a spell card during each turn, negate that spell card. During each standby phase, pay 1000 lp (not optional) or this card is destroyed.
so why dont you play right hand instead?
@@lim3458 because right hand only works while you control a spellcaster, so we have the stronger version that requires a spellcaster on the field and the generic one which affects both players and costs lp during each turn
There are s few ways to fix this card that I can think of:
1) Adding a convoluted requirement.
2) Make it a ST once per turn.
3) make it a gamble. Like chaos Neos and his 3 coin toss effect.
4) keep the same effect and cost for activations.
But remove the infinite symbol. Add a once per duel clause and limited to 1 copy.
@@fredyramirez3035 #4 would def make it unplayable as most likely nobody would use it
@@pkmnlover3812 yeah. Being realistic and fair. The only way to make it viable is number 2 (a de-spell that you can use once per turn with a lp cost) and 4.
imp order should get erratad to allow spells that target it, so youd only be safe if u have 2 iOs on the field
It would be interesting to see imperial Order become 'Negate all spell effects that do not target Imperial Order'. So it's STILL a floodgate but it's a floodgate that doesn't protect itself from targeted removal.
Ayeeee we in here
I can't believe it's finally over. I wonder what his next series will be...

They could change Imperial Order to limit the number of spells played in a turn as opposed to stopping spells from being played completely that way if you opponent does have an MST or other removal they can get rid of it. If they are going to change it like that they might as well just make a retrain if a card that does this doesn't already exist.
So kind of like a Summon Limit for spells. I was almost going to say to add a restriction where it has to be activated at the start of the Main Phase so you can't just wait to negate a specific card, but that might defeat the whole purpose of it being a Trap.
A cool video idea would be listing the most recent cards that have moved off the Forbidden List back to 1 or more copies and explaining the probable reasons for unbanning the cards.
I'd love to see Astrograph, because that thing's monster effect is beyond broken still.
Do you think limiting special summoning with a new master rule will fix a lot of broken cards and combos? Similar to how normal summon is limited to 1.
For example you can only summon 2 monsters from extra deck, can only special summon 1 card from hand/deck and special summon 1 from gy/banish per turn.
With imperial order, switch control of the life point cost to your opponent on there turn. Then they can decide whether or not to pay the 700 life points
Hi can you make video, that tackles about meta deck every year since yugioh release!
Thoughts on mist valley thunderbird as a 1 of in floowandereeze, should I play it?
