Mallorca is known as the 17th state of Germany, as the Germans love to go there on vacation every year 😂

and for the record, I have been to Mallorca once. It was a charter trip in 1995. 3 hour flight from Stockholm and then a one hour bus journey to Alcudia on the north coast.

Mallorca now lives from mass tourism and this has negative consequences for the island. On the one hand, tourists do not always behave properly and parts of the island resemble Cancún. The only difference is that there are no Americans there, but Germans and English. That is why the Germans call it their 17th federal state, also because there are many German emigrants. On the other hand, they make scarce resources more expensive. Due to ongoing protests by the islanders, politicians have recently taken action against this. They are trying to improve the quality of tourists and reduce resource consumption through bans. I do not know how things are going with the English. After leaving the EU, they now need a visa and a permit for longer stays. The Germans only need their ID card.
Anyone who moves away from mass tourism can discover the millennia-old history. The first larger buildings date from 1300 BC.
d'Artagnan does not do folk music here and rarely does otherwise. It's typical German pop with a bit of metal, which is why they are often criticized. Here is the most successful pop singer at the moment. And yes, she has already broken her bones:
