How would you answer âhow do you deal with conflicting feedback from your teammates?â
@@michelechen2770 Hi, I just learnt that the best answer for this question would be - "I would understand that the criticism is not meant for me. It is not an attack on me as a person or as a UX Designer. It's just that the solution I proposed is not the right solution at the moment. So, I'll go back in there and iterate and will try to come up with a different solution that both I and my peer would agree upon".
@@nityabardhan5550 so you would give up your solution and accept that you are wrong and teammate is right
why isn't there a UI interview when you are offering the same course separately? is the field of UI so small that people don't get jobs in UI?
As someone with autism, interviews are absolute hell. I've been studying tips and watching videos like I have an exam that's worth 90% of my grade for my imaginary class. Determining the hidden meanings behind these questions is incredibly difficult.
everyone struggles with this. You dont need to be autistic to be bad at interviews. Its not normal to ask a question and expect an answer that doesnt actually answers the question.
I wish you all the best
Tell me about it
Hello
Iâm autistic, too. It is such a challenge!
Q: Why do you want to work here?
A: I want to be able to buy food that will fuel my creativity and productivity which are going to contribute to the growth of your company!
You are hired sir!!!
Do you have any Q&A example like this? Very creative
Thank you for calm and well paced explanation Dee! Love the examples on how to word the answers to add value instead of only showing the benefit for the self.
Thank you! This is the best video I've seen on the subject. I feel more confident with clarification.
Loved how you articulated the dos and don'ts
For question 3, the interviewers also try to see how good of a storyteller you are as a designer and if you engagingly summarise essential information. Love every second of this video by the way, with these great presentation skills! The elaboration on the two types of answers is just another level!
Great video!!! This is extremely helpful and all the tips are very helpful. Thank you!
Thank you so much for your videos! It helps a lot! Your tips and short examples gave me more confidence about the direction of the interview and how I'd like to present myself in front of the interviewer.
Very nicely explained!
The last solution is the most effective to describe a challenge you faced while doing your project.
Thanks
I can tell you are a master of UX/UI by the feeling I get from, and how easily I digest these videos. The best on the 'Tube.
You're too good with this, especially the part about how not to answer was very helpful. Thank you for the quality content and help!
This video is pure gold. Thank you!
Thank you so much! It was extremely clear and useful for me.
I love the humility in how you answered all the questions, especially the last one. This is such a fantastic interview prep resource. Thank you!!
Thank you. Your "how not to answer" portion was very helpful. I get so nervous in an interview and I fumble because I don't know how to answer these questions to my advantage. Your suggestions were very helpful. I would love to hear similar topics on better communication. I am very direct and often that does not work to my advantage.
Omg same. It is really affecting my career progression and I don't know what to do
Love the voice and thank you for explaining things so well
This was one of the very few videos that are actually good and useful. Thank you so much for sharing this!! The interviewers asked the same questions.
This is gold! Thank you so much!
Thanks for great content! I've watched this video several times before interviews and it is equally helpful and informative every time.

Great video! Loved the 'What's your favourite product' example!
My favorite products are the ones that Dee worked on because she's a UX legend :) Superb content as always, thanks!
Thank you so much dee for sharing such meaningful informations about ux designer interviews, iâve wrote down all the things and i will work on it đ
I valued lot the answer about how to walk the interviewer through one case study in the portfolio. I also found the way you described a difficult challenge you faced in the past very practical.
Thanks for your tips, really helps!
first time on this channel. the way you explain and talk in this video is really nice. loved learning from you
Helpful, confidence booster and learned how to tackle these common questions with unique answers.
Great to hear Harshad, thanks for the feedback and good luck with any future interviews!
Where were you for so many years or was I looking into the wrong direction all long. God you are an exceptional speaker and a great help. Thanks a ton!
Thank you Dee, it's so helpful
That was perfect. Thanks a million.
So helpful! Thank you so much!
That was so well curated! Thank you for this very helpful video
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
This feel like a slap on my face because I actually bombed the LAST interview in a nice company because when interviewed by the Director, I answered exactly like you said it was a wrong way to answer. And listening to you spell it out, made me realize how it actually sounded. I didn't even need to listen to the right way to understand what I did wrong. Hopefully I won't bomb the next one.
Tomorrow I have an UX Interview and thanks your video is really helpful for me
Thank for getting me to think which app I'm going to talk about!
Really appreciate your good knowledge and well understandable explanation đ
Thanks, we're glad you found it useful!
Absolutely loved it! Thanks for the information. Could you please do more of the UX interview Q&A with different questions? It would be of great help!
czcams.com/video/5eEEKq5EwZY/video.html
Great video! I loved the advice for answering "why do you want to work here?" and how you rephrased the answer to make it sound like you're offering something to the company instead of wanting to get something out of the company. I'll be referring to that part a lot!
czcams.com/video/5eEEKq5EwZY/video.html
Amazung video! Amazin content! Thanks a lot for sharing these invaluable insights. It helps a lot.

You're welcome Kyle! Glad it was helpful!
All the insights were amazing.
Thank you career foundry. I learned a lot's of thing from you guys
Thanks, we're happy you find our content valuable!
Nice. #1 is one of my go-to questions no doubt.
Thank you for making this video! It really helped me prepare myself for some upcoming class assignments while also helping me for when I begin to apply to jobs in this area. I never thought about asking the employer to walk me through how projects normally go with the team. I can see how that would be pretty beneficial to see if you would work well if the process and people involved. I can see now that when people ask you a question they are not just asking you to answer it but also to expand upon it and respond with a question of your own.
Thanks for sharing that really helps.
I liked the tip about being able to admit mistakes
Thanks Vaughan! We're glad you found these tips useful!
Thank you so much, on my way to one now! wish me luck.

Thanks for your kind words Sachin, we are glad it was useful! Any other topics you'd like us to create content about?
I'm in between jobs now and need to prep for an interview. Just love how you articulate your ways around the questions and the tips given. For me, i haven't thought about " what is your favourite digital product" question as i was focusing so much on my own case study. Thank you for the amazing content and what you are doing in this space. Much appreciated.
Thanks so much Jeremy! We really appreciate that feedback and glad you're enjoying the content. Out of interest, what is your favourite digital product? (they'll always usual ask for a deeper dive on why as well. If you can link it back to a particular UX / UI feature all the better too!)
Did you find a job?
Great video!!! Thank you so much

This is way too amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks Christine! Glad you liked it!
I really needed this video it's like you fulfilled my wish. Thank you so much â€ïž
Great to hear Abhishek! Thanks! Which question / answer did you find the most insightful?
AMAZING VIDEO!!!! My biggest takeaway was the "how do you describe a challenge and how did you handle it?"
Thanks for sharing J R, yeh that's a really common question and having some pre-prepared answers and thoughts on the topic ready will be beneficial!
Thanks đđ
Main takeaway is recruiters donc known how to ask a question in order to get the answer they want... Maybe it would be nice to have a video translating questions ? "Walk me through a particular project" translated into "What was your implication in this particular project?" The way it's presented in this video makes job seeker feel like they don't understand questions properly when really it's the recruiters that are not clear enough / Competent enough
Awesome đ
Thanks a lot!!
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
nicest great interesting discussion on nicest topics in depth
Thank you for this precious knowledge because it provides insight on essential details that are very important. I'm a bit curious about point n4 where Dee made the case of admitting a mistake, which is true and important to take, however, mentioning you were ready to launch the product and find problems in the process at the very last might be a red flag for those interviewing. This is because those hiring you might interpret it as a lack of work quality while doing UX research or prototyping, especially when applying with big companies that value time as their most precious resource.
Thank you.
Thanks Vineet, glad you enjoyed it!
Great tips!
Regarding the question 2. I do agree that the two sentences state almost the same but the "...this is something where I feel like I can bring a lot to your team" part make it complete different in my opinion. I would understand that that candidate "can bring a lot" whereas in reality (s)he cannot because doesn't have enough experience, which is precisely the real intention, gain it.
Could you elaborate further about this expectation vs reality mismatching
Thank you!

The amount of "inclusive" language in this video has sent my brain spinning so many times. Thank you for making my life harder.
All of the tips are quite useful. I am wondering if there is any course targeting for solving while boarding or design challenge problems?
Is this content you'd like to see on our channel? If so we can definitely cater to that in the near future!
@@careerfoundry yes! Iâd like to know how to tackle whiteboard problems in interviews and how to move to the interaction design skill to the next level in my work. Thank you
