Hey Sam I have been running the Warriors freelance offense but sometimes when I do handoffs, the wing who receives it always fake passing but like what you said on the last video that I could release the circle late so I'm still getting the hang this offense and I also run this offense while myteam, the way I run this freelance was not bad and I've been practicing so can't wait for part 3 of this offense I'm a slow learner

Hey Sam, thanks for the wonderful tutorial. I have learnt so much from you over the past three years.
Just a quick question regarding the controller settings, I noticed a slight delay on the icon passing when I set the icon pass to full RC control. Have you noticed the same thing? My offense is heavily relying on the icon lead pass so this delay is kind of annoying to me.
If the RC slip is the only reason to change the default setting of the icon passing, I think maybe using the alternative control by pressing L1 to slip the screen in response to the hard hedge might accomplish the same. Or holding triangle to send the screener to slip the screen might also work. Since you are the guru of the manually controlled actions, I would like to hear your take on these alternatives :)
One last thing regarding the full RC, do you have any other action that require full RC? Because if not, i would just keep the handoff for circle and the default icon pass scheme to avoid the delay. Thanks.

I don't have much time to go through all the offenses in much detail. I love freelance. Any chance you can make a video talking about the corner, flow and 5 out sets? I like 5 out so far. I mostly play MyTeam and use Ben Simmons alot but I want to rotate between those 3 sets. Corner seems great against anyone who plays off ball with center or PF. Let me know!

Hey man. Lovely video! I would definitely recommend leaving both controller options on full reciever control and still using the bounce pass button for the slip, it works much quicker and more natural. You can also perform your on dribble handoff while holding the bounce pass button and get better speed coming off of the corner. Now since you can still use bounce pass for the full RC on pick and rolls you can then use icon RC to make cuts away from the ball if someone is playing off ball D on your center or wing. Both functions able to be used very simple. I feel the screen slip is way harder using the icon passing method. Try it out!!

Also you earned a sub. I'm always very good at 2k and your videos and some points you make increase my talent. My MyTeam is defensive and I tweaked my adjustments a little different than yours and it's lock up man! I wish I had to tools to make these videos. Nice work man!!
Also by controlling the pitch person you can choose to disengage and back up for a 3 or cut middle if the D starts biting!! DEADLY FAMILY
That's what i like to hear haha For beginner players almost all my tips help but for more seasoned players i think i just provide some extra tools that will get you guys just a little better. I try to put everything i learn in these tutorials so there's something to learn for everybody. I do try to go step by step tho so any player can get really good if they put in the work :)

Can u use this with a team that doesn't have a stretch 4? Or u need a stretch 4 or an athletic 4 (like jabari) for it to work?
Great vedio thanks but i feel that it will be much better if you run it with space the floor because the motion cuts branches animation sometimes disturbe the flow of my movement espicially during the handoff
+ouzf888 you want that actually. I will discuss that in the future. The movement from the branches will open up more seams, you don't have to follow them just use them as even more controlled movement

Sorry for the long comment but thanks to your vids, I finally won a 12 minute quarter on HOF with the current Knicks roster. Not, a full game a good step after losing by 80 regularly. Some thoughts and questions...
- Been experimenting with putting KP at the 3. This causes all kinds of mismatches - can post up on a smaller man, run pick n rolls and pick and fades, and rs slips with KP are unstoppable. When the CPU does catches on and puts a big on him or double teams then I have two bigs who can post up on a mismatch. One major problem I'm having though, is when my bigs stand around as though they're waiting for corner threes like Bruce Bowen. How might you solve this? I don't want them to clog the middle but I need to take advantage somehow when the defense collapses on KP.
-Still wrapping my head around these last two videos since I need to work on fundamentals. Love it in theory so far - wondering if my current lineup (ntilikina, lee, KP, Hernangomez, Kanter) faces any particular challenges with your freelance offense.
-I'm liking the idea of trying to get miss-matches with all these talented bigs with the versatile kp as a center piece but because I'm big on math, I'll probably want to tweak and have more knock down three point shooters. Correct me if I'm wrong, but your offense seems to be tailor made for breaking down the d and kicking it out to an open man.
This offense needs 3 shooters two handlers and a stretch big to work perfectly. KP at the 3 is fine but you don't want to run that lineup with this. Once i finish GSW i will move to a different post up friendly freelance. Everything i have taught so far is about pace and space so you have the wrong lineup for it. Your lineup will suit what i want to teach next week much better lol
For now if you are running GSW motion cuts i suggest you do this:
Ntilinka, Lee, Hardway Jr., KP, Kanter. Have Frank handle iniital PnRs but don't be afraid to use Hardway as a secondary handler.
You can use KP or Kanter for screens since they can both shoot okay with KP being a much better shooter than banter
Yea, makes a lot of sense. Been using Hardaway as a backup pg in place of Baker. Thinking of trading Hardaway and Hernangomez for a point guard who can run a motion offense and a shooter respectively. Hardaway is nice but I would not have signed him to that contract in real life.

What makes this better than just five out space the floor and pick and roll cheesing? I want to run a real offense but the 5 out cheese is so easy and it works so well
+PetroFor3 5 out doesn't have good Freelance branches I will show those later. And you can defend 5 out if you just switch (settings Tmr) or play off ball on the worse shooter and play help side yourself

Why cant you puck any play you want? The game chooses plays for you. You could do this on previous games.

Anyone know this play where it sets a pick and roll on one wing and at the same time the center on the weak side sets a pin down for a wide open three for a guard? this one dude online spammed it all game. finally I was able to stop it but it was hard to guard bc if I switched off to get to the three ball sometimes he got a dunk and if I didn't switch off he got a wide open uncontested three.

oooo. can't wait! Do you happen to know what it might be though? I didn't do a great job of explaining it haha also I started playing around with this type of play in 17. I was watching a lot of Spurs ball movement videos and no one online ever did handoffs and when you did they weren't expecting it and were playing catch up the whole time. One action I would do was call a 1-4 pick and fade coming up the court and coming off the pick run towards the wing and hand it off to that player. Meanwhile the PG is being picked the Big has to come get me and then worry about the handoff pick. it created a ton of scrambling and always led to an open look somewhere.
had someone do the same to me. Would protect dribble at top of key for 15 secs like the AI while his wings came off screen after screen. most boring game of 2k ive ever played.
i actually give him props for running A play but he just spammed it and i was finally able to stop it and won the game. It worked for a while lol

+Eric Young means you are handing it off too late. Try to do it earlier. So is more pitch pass

This game has some crazy flaws. Missing wide open lay ups and it is just me or you lose the ball easily?
Tim Engelbrecht Yeah, did some practice. I noticed that everything is timing. Have you had any problems losing the ball randomly? Or a free throw glitch lol.
da_czar made a video on the layup timing and the losing the ball easily is the superstar and hall of fame slider settings of: Ball security . But yes it do have many flaws still.
