The genocide route is the biggest love to hate thing I know. It's frustrating to grind monster kills, every monster and boss goes down in one hit and feels so unsatisfying and the two bosses that don't instantly die are some of the hardest videogame bosses.
I love how this route is built up to tell you "Stop! This is a bad idea!" But you keep going, just because you can. And what do you get as a reward? Loosing the ability to get that perfect happy ending...
This route is emotional torture and if I ever try this route again one day, I'm stopping after I've defeated sans and start reloading the last save to let him kill me over and over again because I deserve it.
reset and do a pacafist run, sans is literally just standing in judgement hall forever if you never play
Never did a genocide run. Never want to. I love these characters way too much to slaughter them. Hell, sometimes I'll open up Undertale again, not to start over or anything, but just to see Flowey give his little spiel about how I'm the only one with the power to take away everyone's happy ending. Not out of any actual need for that kind of warning, but just... for at least a few minutes... Asriel isn't alone down there.

@@LunarIsHere_ If you play genocide before pacifist then in the pacifist playthrough some of the main characters will remember what you did to them in the previous genocide. Then in the end if you decide to live with Toriel in the end your eyes glow red, and if you leave then a photograph is shown with everyone's faces scribbled out it red with Chara in the centre instead of Frisk. Essentially it makes you be reminded of how you killed them all beforehand.

genocide ruins pacifist forever since you sold your soul to chara, only way o fix it is a hrd reset in the game files i think

An important thing to note is that at the end of true pacifist, if you reopen the game after the credits roll, Flowey talks to *you* specifically.
He makes it clear that the player and Frisk are separate entities. Frisk has their own life in the game's universe, and he tells you to let them live their life. However, you are the one who has control and can force their hand regardless of what everyone in-game may wish.
Deltarune reaffirms this with the player's control over Kris and the choice of words, especially in Snowgrave/weird route.
you know, about deltarune, after snowgrave, even if kris gets freed of our control, we still have noelle, who could become the main puppet in that case, ain't that interesting?
Fun fact: If you do genocide, then pacifist, the ending will be different.

@MrBruhMan1746 There will be a small change at the end of Pacifist, unique for either choice, that implies you will kill them.
@@MrBruhMan1746at the very end frisk will become chara basically when they sleep before the fade out frisk will open their eyes with ofc pure red eyes.
@@MrBruhMan1746if you choose to stay with toriel frisk will transform into chara while sleeping but if you choose you have places to go there will be a picture of chara standing there with everyone else’s faces crossed out

Being there during the full livestream all the way through, I must say, it was amazing how long Undyne and Sans took in total.

I played a blind playtrought in 2023 of undertale, and i discovered that the day i installed it was the anniversary of the game, lmao

That turn around from laughing at the Muffet oneshot to that saddened look when her spider came in to honor her. Wow.
so about the weapons, real knife is actually no better than a stick (not even the fastest, pan is usually used in speedruns instead), pan makes every item heal 4 hp more which isn't a lot but it's something, and notebook (and glasses) give you slightly more inv (enough to survive the first attack with 1 hp, other stuff makes you die on it so there is a difference), and it's probably the best equipment because of that, as the difference might be small but with how often you get hit on sans it can make a change

This was my first time being on a Purplecliffe livestream. It was so much fun! I tried giving Purplecliffe advice for the route, even if he didn't listen. I also started an onslaught of beaver emojis when he was fighting Sans with the Torn Notebook. I watched that stream for 8 hours, and it was an unforgettable time! Thanks, Cliffe!

Never been to one of his livestreams before, but from what I've seen, trying to give him legitimate advice seems like a fool's errand, because he seems to intensely distrust anything his chat tells him. And, between "SANS PHASE 3", "METTATON IS SUPER HARD" and all the rickroll links, I kinda get it.

Seeing people's SOULS (heheh) getting crushed during the Genocide route only fuels my love for Undertale. It's such a brilliant and well-crafted game that really makes you think about life in general. Like the whole bit with Sans going "you do it because you 'can.' so you 'have to.'" It's such a great line, along with many other lines that other characters (mainly Sans) have said. Thank you for playing all 3 main routes of this game, and healing the kid in me that grew up watching people play this.
Sans really sums it all up there. People do the genocide run not because they want everyone to suffer, but because it's an option for them, and they feel like once they embark on this dark path, they have to see it all the way through. And then we get Flowey calling out anyone who's watching someone else play this run but doesn't have the Sludge Bombs to do it themself, that's, that was a pretty slick move. I think we can all agree that Toby Fox is a fucking genius.

I love how genocide tries to make you quit by making the story bland, having extreme grind, not giving you nearly as good music as pacifist (except for the 2 main bangers) and having that madsive powercreep before and after undyne.

Catching this stream live was so funny. I left twenty minutes in for work and came back midway through the Sans fight. Like I just worked for eight hours and were still here.
Now that you've seen everything in the game, watching some Undertale fan animations could be interesting to you. Even if you don't record/upload it, I'd still recommend checking them out, because some of them are really high quality animations, and stand well even when divorced from the context of the game.
He missed a lot of stuff, not counting secrets, route exclusive content, endings, or branching items.

There is a secrete cutscene if you do pacifist after genoside but it’s at the end of the game and it’s more worthwhile to just look it up on CZcams because you would have to beat the game twice to see both cutscenes (go with toriel, I have places to be)

Undyne's true hero transformation to stop the protag before death really reminded me of Talon's rift form... if you know what I'm refrencing write you're favorite character in that game.
I hope he plays Deltarune next. It's amazing, and more fleshed out than the original Undertale.
Some things to know:
•(50:28) Asgore was talking to Flowey before we came in the room, hence what he meant by "Plant, crying." Flowey tried warning Asgore about the Human.
•He also asked the question "What kind of monster are you?" Sans (5:17), Papyrus (5:52), Undyne (19:20), and Asgore (50:42) all in these clips they all don't refer to you as "Human." Because they don't see you as one.

So the person you name at the "name the fallen human" screen is Chara. Of course, you can name them whatever but the true name is Chara. And obviously the person you play as is Frisk. Gotta love Undertales confusing name stuff
Fun fact, if you name them Frisk, it unlocks a hard mode easter egg with some dialogue changes in the ruins and harder regular enemies. After Toriel, the annoying dog tells you "that's the end of hard mode lol" and when you restart you get to choose a new name.

The change is now that after you trade your soul the true pacifist ending changes forever and thats why you should first play true pacifist and then genocide route

The check text is actually right sans dies in 1 hit and he does 1 damage, altough he can dodge and he cancels immunity frames + he makes karma damage (it’s similar to poison)
1 Defense doesn't mean you instantly die, Flowey had 0 defense during the omega fight.
