Jon Gnarr, on how he created a political party called "The Best Party" through friends & facebook. He then became the mayor of Reykjavik & changed some things up. Enjoy!
Jón Gnarr said in the campaign that during the recession he wasn't getting any gigs and for once he just wanted a "cozy inside job". Pretty sure he has openly talked about just playing ninja fruit slasher on his iPad during meetings.
That sharp twist at 15:00 ish by Craig, even the mood of the audience shifted from negative to positive. What an amazing wit, charm and sense!! Mr. Jayleno Fly, during this difficult time we're all facing - the quarantines, fear, boredom and sense of loss - Thank you, THANK YOU THANK YOU for re-uploading the old Craig Ferguson videos you used to share. The laughter they unlocked and the healing therein were a blessing then and sure to be one now..Thank You. I hope everyone reading this is safe and laughing their butts off :)
Zelenski met Jón at a conference and told him he was his main role model. Zelenski as a comedian was playing in series where a comedian becomes a president. So Zelenski became a president because the fiction became reality. And Jóns spoof party developed steadily from fiction to reality but ended up winning. He was a good mayor.😊
this guy is great, you should all read his book plus the 3 others he wrote about his growing up (3 books, The Indian, The Pirate, The Outlaw, in this order). We should all be so lucky to have politicians like him. He should be cloned for the rest of the world.
I think all countryes has people like him, it´s the upgrowing, oppertunityes and the overall thinking here in Iceland that made him the way he is. Here it´s ok to be out of the norm and find your ways. It used to be a way of being a "trouble maker" but as you find your meaning/ your thing. All ways are possible. Just imagine how many Albert Einsteins or Issac Newtons has been unnoticed and just has been discarted as "trouble makers" or hasn´t fit in the norm...
Craig: "So you were the mayor of Reykjavik?"
Jón: "Jau"
This man is confirmed icelandic
Já* 😉
nah he was just tryin to sound black

His laugh is fucking amazing.

I knew it! I knew Sigur Ros is one of the factors that contributes to Craig's fascination of Iceland. I mean, you seen Heima? Place is gorgeous.
The only mayor to have a Crass symbol tattooed visibly.

Meanwhile in the Philippines, electing comedians has always been the norm.
It doesnt count if they dont know that they are comedians. Its a fixed rule. I just made it up but its still binding.
Still waiting for vice ganda to run as senator :)
Oh god no! Not Vice!
Damn. I wanted to see him go for the big cash prize.
Just said the same!
How many books did Craig collect over his career on TLLS?
Absolute Legend
Jón Gnarr er goðsögn
Anyone think Jon looks like Grindelwald?
The Best Party on WFMU
Anyone thought that was conan o'Brien in the thumbnail
That does make sense since Jón Gnarr is pretty much the icelandic Conan'O'Brian
