Explored Inside An Abandoned & Foreclosed Old Victorian Country House Built In 1870 In Connecticut

- Some interesting items inside this old Victorian house built in 1870. The basement door was left open and there's a lot of things on the shelves and all over the floor. Christmas things in the attic and an old McDonald's hamburglar glass in the medicine cabinet. The rest of their belongings were neatly boxed and stacked in a separate attic possibly to be removed at another time.
That time never came because the bank foreclosed on the house and property.
The Foreclosure auction was May 4, 2024, so pretty recent. Not sure how that went.
The old owners ran a business out of the house and even when they were still using the property there were blight complaints from the locals. I guess the owners just gave up on the property and got tired of the neighbors, so they stopped paying the taxes and mortgage.
CT taxes are high and as you can see the roof needs repair and the floors are very weak. It will take a lot of money to restore it.
A beautiful house just the same. I enjoyed walking through all the rooms. I love the layout of those old houses.
I really feel it's important to film these places. A few of the places I filmed have already been demolished and either office space, warehouses or strip malls took their place.
Let's hope this one doesn't meet the same fate.

The black marble fireplace is gorgeous and I like the parquet flooring. It's interesting how each fireplace is of a different style. In its day, it must have been a lovely home.

Beautiful house! I really like that you write about the back story and info on the home! When you were in the attic at 14:07 if slow setting something flys by maybe a big spiderweb but wanted to make a comment about it also you can hear weird sounds or something while your talking but then it stops as you stop. It’s so weird just like when you were in the bathroom knocking was heard but then knocking over part of that knocking it was weird . Beautiful home and I truly love your videos! Would you ever do revisits of some of the homes you visited before? That would be neat! My house was built in 1890 I always hear stuff but I try not to think about it I always have the fan running as background noise for when I sleep but I don’t think I could do that if I was home alone.
Hey Heather, Thanks so much for your comment. You really have a good eye for finding anomalies in my videos. I watched 14:07 at .50 and .25 speeds and there's definitely something out of the ordinary there. I paused the video a few times as well and it looks like it has a tiny face as well. CREEPY. I have done one revisit once on a house just to improve the explore. I may do other revisits, but I like finding new places. Thanks again...
