It's a trophy truck, short course trucks are wider and are usually all independent suspension. Trophy trucks are exclusively solid rear axle running on long travel suspension.
Short course trucks are lighter and are designed for short races. Trophy trucks are designed to race up to 1000 miles through the desert and carry a lot of spare equipment like driveshafts tyres etc
An amazing time for r/c vehicles! For a while they were building r/c cars that were built similarly to trophy trucks, but now they look like they're being built to look and perform almost exactly like trophy trucks!
Great overview! Would love to see on 6S but even more I would love to see a cinematic video of this truck. I feel you guys would kill a cinematic video.
Just found you guys, I've watched flite test for the longest time and I'm glad you guys also have a ground fleet too!! You should totally do an fpv setup in this thing like you did with the redcats!! Love the channel, love the content, keep up the great work, I'm excited for what's to come!
I have the rigid version and probably the first 2 upgrades I did were remove the side bars and replace the hardware with stainless steel The brand I used is called Rc screwz and basically you get a assortment of screws and washers for the truck Also makes it look really nice
Definitely give it a try on 6S, I'm pretty sure it will put a smile in your face ;) Take it put somewhere where the terrain is not as flat. Something similar where the full scale thing is normally used. Some place with some jump and some unevenness in the terrain but that would still let you open the throttle and let it go.
7:59 other trucks don’t have the same extent of rear travel. This is a situation where the “scale” adherence is filling a functionality void in the RC market. I don’t care about looks but def won’t complain, especially with the light bars and telemetry, and available sensors to go full-gonzo with. Love the video 👏👏
I run my UDR on 6s. Prepare to constantly replace parts on this truck if you do. The transmission goes out time and time again. the gears strip especially if jumping etc. Love my truck though.
How many upgrags /$ have u put on it scence then? and also how many parts have u broke/$ ?? Just wondering for if I want one myself or a crawler trx 4..sxt10 ii
I think you should add FPV and do tricks with it, like try jumping the shop or something crazy that it was meant for. Or, jump it off the dirt mound you were driving on and try to land into circles or something like that? Looks sick though!
No AIR!?!?!?!?!? Come on guys! A simple plywood jump? A dirt berm? That suspension is all about soaking up big jumps:-( DriveOn needs to DriveHome:-) I do love you guys!
This is really cool. The price point isn't that bad once you see what goes into this truck. Its way more complicated then most kits out there. Personally I'd like to see more footage of this being driven on a track just like the real thing.
If u drove it to the low voltage limit and the light is blinking..u must unplug the battery to turn it off.its normal and how its supposed to be..its set like that from factory
SCALE!..more Scale!..:) Really like this one! One reason I personally haven't gotten into this RC more is that there are a BILLION fast ones that keep "looking" like a Walmart toy...Gimme a model that looks real and goes half as fast..Just my opinion..:)
Y’all don’t seem to reply to comments, but I’ll ask anyway. When the UDR came out, initially it garnered favorable reviews, but since, it’s been panned as too breakable and expensive to fix and also flips too much. What is your take now that you’ve had it for a good while? Thanks!
I would love to see a pan and till FPV system in the driver's position. If it is as scale as you say, this would help push me to get one and put in the FPV system so I could drive it like I was driving the real truck. If anyone could do it, it would be you guys! P.S. Don't forget to put a gyro on the till for maximum FPVing!
Paused @00:01 sec.. First coffee.. Get comfy... Breathe in... And "de"pause :D Yeehaaaww!! I love this truck very, very much! Edit: For me, 4s will do allthough i'm a speed freak. This truck screams scale so i would love to see some scaled down drivers view, or in other words : FPV please :D
I wasn’t sure if this build was $600 worth until you pulled open the hood and said it can use 6S. Still, compare 600 bones to what you can get for an rc airplane as far as performance, and I still have questions.
tuning for real trophy trucks is usually quite rear heavy in power, I believe it is to allow them to drift better. If you had 50:50 power distribution in a lightweight RC car, the understeer would be appalling, 90% does sound a little extreme though, it is usually 75 to 80% rear biased.
Have you guys ever heard of the Redcat shredder V2? I just got mine for $325.00, it is considered a 1/6 scale. I love it and think you guys would have a good time with it. It is a perfect opportunity to experience a large vehicle for a low price point. It comes ready to drive except for the batteries.
It's really fun. If you get the chance to drive it I don't think you will regret it. Awesome video guys, I think it is pretty cool that you are branching to cars. I started with drones then got a plane and then got a car. Its all fun. I cannot wait until the next episode and I also cannot wait to see you guys destroy that tank with the airsoft gun. You guys do a great job, keep it up.
Remove rc driver and replace it with mini pan tilt fpv cam with head tracking. Then find an awesome 1 mile long track point to point dirt and go wot with only goggles! Something ive been dreaming mini baja rc fpv race. Mini dust to glory
Thats not a short course truck, thats a Trophy Truck. Short course trucks dont have spare tires and typically have more roll bars for the short course bashing that you see on 1:1 racing.
Heh... I have a 35lb, 3ft long, 50mph 2stroke monster of a truck. Best part of 2stroke is that you get to race all day. Electric is faster, but I'll be out playing while you're inside waiting for your batteries to charge :P
"don't get me Rong, I bet 6s is gonna be fun but I think 4s is plenty of power for this truck"
Kevin Talbot: (puts it on 8s!)
After 18 months of running and bashing this UDR of mine, gotta say tough cookie no doubt! 💖
Still loving it? Thinking about getting on next month!
Not short corse truck it’s a trophy truck.
It's a trophy truck, short course trucks are wider and are usually all independent suspension. Trophy trucks are exclusively solid rear axle running on long travel suspension.
no short course trucks while wider still have a solid rear make sure you know what you are talking about before you say it
2 years later lol
this isn't a short course truck, it's a trophy truck! noobs:)
bro please tell me what is the difference between short course truck and trophy truck
I wish I could get this it is my favorite traxxas ever but I can’t afford it ☹️
Called out from within the circle, HA love it!
Short course trucks are lighter and are designed for short races. Trophy trucks are designed to race up to 1000 miles through the desert and carry a lot of spare equipment like driveshafts tyres etc
Lmao got'em
How some beach bashing with some slow motion shots! It's nice to see the suspension at work! Great info given, thank you!
It's a scale "desert trophy truck". Real trophy trucks are MUCH more modified than short course trucks.
Rick Russell please check out the channel American Made Rc
Not necessarily MORE modified. They are both built from the ground up and custom tube chassis, but they are just built for different environments.
Rick Russell actually they are similar in hp because short course trucks have up to 900 hp about the same as a desert truck.
An amazing time for r/c vehicles! For a while they were building r/c cars that were built similarly to trophy trucks, but now they look like they're being built to look and perform almost exactly like trophy trucks!
Great video with amazing drone footage!
Great overview! Would love to see on 6S but even more I would love to see a cinematic video of this truck. I feel you guys would kill a cinematic video.
6s and FPV. Love this channel and the content it provides.
Just found you guys, I've watched flite test for the longest time and I'm glad you guys also have a ground fleet too!! You should totally do an fpv setup in this thing like you did with the redcats!! Love the channel, love the content, keep up the great work, I'm excited for what's to come!
Great video trophy trucks are awesome
to anyone who is wondering the udr is a pro scale based off of the Traxxas owners own Trophy truck and is one of the few rc's at 1/7 scale
Just got my blue UDR a week ago, but that white/orange FOX body looked amazing so i got one of those too!
Nice one, would like to see you lads take it to a full scale race event and share it around with the drivers and fans, cheers.
Trophy trucks are a blast especially jumping
I have the rigid version and probably the first 2 upgrades I did were remove the side bars and replace the hardware with stainless steel
The brand I used is called Rc screwz and basically you get a assortment of screws and washers for the truck
Also makes it look really nice
That is a really nice truck and yes I would like to see a tearing up a track that would be really cool
Primo aerial shots as only you guys do!! 👍
JDMJDK please check the the channel American Made Rc
6s BASH would be dope..
nice 👍🏽 job fellas
Definitely give it a try on 6S, I'm pretty sure it will put a smile in your face ;)
Take it put somewhere where the terrain is not as flat. Something similar where the full scale thing is normally used. Some place with some jump and some unevenness in the terrain but that would still let you open the throttle and let it go.
Can't wait to see what you guys do once you get your hands on an X-maxx!
THANK YOU BOTH for your insight on this Traxxas UDR!!! I really love your style of show! It's always both entertaining and informative.
I run my UDR on 6s. Prepare to constantly replace parts on this truck if you do. The transmission goes out time and time again. the gears strip especially if jumping etc. Love my truck though.
nice truck I like the shocks in the front. the swaybar in the back looks a lot like an axial yeti or rock rey with the frame setup.
Awesome!
Awesome dude love ur vid
6S!!!! Amazing lookin car!
Btw just finished my ESM P-39 2,04m wingspan Saito FG-30 4stroke gas engine still has to get its maiden flight
I need more videos from this awesome channle
You guys are awesome nice video
Things fn awesome looks like it rolls over a bit. The wheel base must be to narrow?
Wait, what... Didn't you try 6s yet? 😑
What are you waiting for? A formal invitation? 😝
MC's Creations check out the channel American Made Rc
Kevin Talbot made his 8s! Lol 😂
Hi guys nice job with the review
Been eyeing this truck since it’s release it definitely on my wish list
Run the snot out of it on 6s please 👍😉😁
I'm going to be getting this next week
Fpv for sure! 6s high speed runs on the highway fpv from the passenger seat of a car.
Michael Picard bro you should check out American Made Rc
Thinking about getting one Do you think it’s worth it
A 6S FULL SEND right over the shop would be amazing!!! Please make that video
I dont buy traxxas much anymore but i like this one!
I want an udr so much.
Is it “scale”?
I’ve had my UDR since the first shipment n have never ran it on 4s, only 6s, that’s the only thing I’ll ever run it on, it’s way to slow on 4s
How many upgrags /$ have u put on it scence then? and also how many parts have u broke/$ ?? Just wondering for if I want one myself or a crawler trx 4..sxt10 ii
What's the difference between this and a slash?
I think you should add FPV and do tricks with it, like try jumping the shop or something crazy that it was meant for. Or, jump it off the dirt mound you were driving on and try to land into circles or something like that? Looks sick though!
No AIR!?!?!?!?!?
Come on guys!
A simple plywood jump? A dirt berm?
That suspension is all about soaking up big jumps:-(
DriveOn needs to DriveHome:-)
I do love you guys!
Is Drive On going to be continued?
This is really cool. The price point isn't that bad once you see what goes into this truck. Its way more complicated then most kits out there.
Personally I'd like to see more footage of this being driven on a track just like the real thing.
Would like to see it on a dirt track. See how it handles around turns
This is how many people love the truck
You guys should review the Remo rocket or the redcat volcano exp. Much more affordable and hobby grade
does it have an off switch????
TROPHY TRUCK But that’s ok nice video good stuff
I need to decide only one. The Xmas or UDR .. which one you recommend? I see UDR should be in the $500 more or less. Not $750!!
You guys have got to get that thing on 6s and send it!! It's much tougher than you think.
I like the spare drive shaft
*Me as a trophy truck fan when they said this is a short course* : 😐🤨😑
I know I know I flubbed that one big time. I’ve learned a lot about RC and trucks since this vid :) thanks for watching
I’m getting this truck for Christmas
My god! I think you guys said scale about 1,000 times! We get it!
How do u power it off? I tried pushing and also holding down the power on button. Finally had to pop batteries out??
If u drove it to the low voltage limit and the light is blinking..u must unplug the battery to turn it off.its normal and how its supposed to be..its set like that from factory
Nice! Scale is awesome though I could do without the fire extinguisher and radiator fans even the drivers unless they are FPV
same
dis is brushed or brushless
6S and also some scale whoops and jumps
SCALE!..more Scale!..:) Really like this one! One reason I personally haven't gotten into this RC more is that there are a BILLION fast ones that keep "looking" like a Walmart toy...Gimme a model that looks real and goes half as fast..Just my opinion..:)
TROPHY TRUCK!!!
Suspension seems to be great.
Y’all don’t seem to reply to comments, but I’ll ask anyway. When the UDR came out, initially it garnered favorable reviews, but since, it’s been panned as too breakable and expensive to fix and also flips too much. What is your take now that you’ve had it for a good while?
Thanks!
Legend has it they are contemplating on replying to some of their viewers🤣
Put an FPV camera in the driver's seat.
Kremit the Frog please check out the channel American Made Rc
3:43 aliexpress ?
I want one!
You guys missed that they give you a spare drive shaft right in front of the wheels
I use the lipo 7600 in my slash 4×4
I would love to see a pan and till FPV system in the driver's position. If it is as scale as you say, this would help push me to get one and put in the FPV system so I could drive it like I was driving the real truck. If anyone could do it, it would be you guys!
P.S. Don't forget to put a gyro on the till for maximum FPVing!
Great video....one word....NITRO!!!!!
Unlimited....
Sorry.
Nice vid!
Is this the power unit for "THE TANK"?
Is this a promo?
Paused @00:01 sec.. First coffee.. Get comfy... Breathe in... And "de"pause :D Yeehaaaww!! I love this truck very, very much!
Edit:
For me, 4s will do allthough i'm a speed freak. This truck screams scale so i would love to see some scaled down drivers view, or in other words : FPV please :D
Not a short course truck. T truck or Baja style. I will be buying one.
I wasn’t sure if this build was $600 worth until you pulled open the hood and said it can use 6S. Still, compare 600 bones to what you can get for an rc airplane as far as performance, and I still have questions.
Worth looking at videos RC Sparks did with his if you're curious. It's a scale truck, sure, but what it can do is mind boggling.
Check out the channel American Made Rc
Black Man why in every comment your telling people to go to American made rc??
Black Man 😂😂😂
TSM is completely in the reciever
Make it Fly!!!
This thing is 100 times better on 6s. Please go for it!
Nice
First drive today feels like rear wheels get 90% power is this normal.
tuning for real trophy trucks is usually quite rear heavy in power, I believe it is to allow them to drift better. If you had 50:50 power distribution in a lightweight RC car, the understeer would be appalling, 90% does sound a little extreme though, it is usually 75 to 80% rear biased.
I love my arrma nero. when it dies i'll buy something new. it just wont stop going. you know whats a lot like this the arrma senton.
We asked about it but it was out of stock at the time. Looks solid!
Redcat gets no love from these Traxxas fanboys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Haha it is all good. I am neither for or against Traxxas, just could not find anything I liked from them that in my budget.
@@Drive_On Did you ask about the new Dukono or the R5?
Hoping for a Rustler review
Do more on this
FPV beach racing? :P
Remove rc driver and replace it with mini pan tilt fpv cam with head tracking.
Then find an awesome 1 mile long track point to point dirt and go wot with only goggles!
Something ive been dreaming mini baja rc fpv race.
Mini dust to glory
15lbs without the battery lol I'm at 44 pounds with batteries on mine.i have a DBXLE though.
*Trophy Truck not SCT. or Trick Truck (how they're called in the states)*
I have one it’s worth it.
Thats not a short course truck, thats a Trophy Truck. Short course trucks dont have spare tires and typically have more roll bars for the short course bashing that you see on 1:1 racing.
turns out the two spare tires in the back aren't ornamental😆
Now i Have a set of paddle tires on the back for when the snow comes here in Ohio :)
Take it to the track...
Did not realise that it was that big
Show us the 6 please. How about a car build video I'm thinking foam board rc 10. Come on you can do it!
Heh... I have a 35lb, 3ft long, 50mph 2stroke monster of a truck. Best part of 2stroke is that you get to race all day. Electric is faster, but I'll be out playing while you're inside waiting for your batteries to charge :P
thats why i love my nitros
